Quick overview video showing how to install wet under floor heating system using low profile 15mm overlay panels made from dense fibre. The finish floor is tiled. Quick question, can UFH replace an existing radiator and just run off the main CH loop, and if you wanted have a seperate zone valve on the manifold itself? My plumbing is located in a pretty awkward location. For that sake could you sacrifice one radiator and run manifold to multiple rooms, assuming standard 15mm CH pipes?

Have you ever used Novatherm 20mm panels, 200mm centres and 16mm pipework? Do you know if its best to fix these panels to the floor or use as floating? Floor cover to be floating engineered wood
What's the heatloss on a system like this? If its lay over a uninsulated 200 year old slab is it gonna provide enough insulation?
Is this type of dry underfloor heating system as efficient as a wet (screed) underfloor heating system? That is, I guess the wet system means you heat a mass (screed) and it stores the heat longer? Or are these dry panels so well insulated they hold heat?

Hi, I have another question for you, do you know if you're tiler used a coupling mat of any kind such as Ditra? certain companies are suggesting that you tile directly on to the UFH system but I have never seen tiling done without a coupling mat. Perhaps the coupling mat takes away from the heat output tho.. your thoughts? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

I'm currently looking to use this system in my home, 36sqm on all of the downstairs, the issue is that it is straight on to concrete, i'm worried that i might not get a good heat output from the system. using it with a worcester 35Kw boiler and floor covering is tile. would it put out sufficient heat and not cost loads in gas bills? Thanks
You will get around 50watts a square meter from those systems. Downward loses are not that big. Expect around 1.5kw output if done correctly.
@@UrbanPlumbers great thank you, I will double check my heat calculations, I've got double glazing and polystyrene insulation pumped into the cavity of external walls so i'm feeling more confident that 1.5Kw will do it, thanks again!
Hi , is the existing concrete floor got any insulation at all? If not - i assume the boards a super insulated?
Isn't the heat loss through the floor in a house only usually around 10% as heat mostly rises not the other way round?
Do you know of a way to have multizone opentherm? I know you can have multizone load compensation with Vaillant boiler and controls but you need to invite the whole Vaillant family which it's expensive as hell.
Hoeywell evohome can do it. It is also expensive.

Primed and also fixed with raw plugs, screws and big washers.
I’ve installed 6 x actuators for 6 x individual zones and a new combi boiler. Client has requested for Google Nest to be installed. Is there a way of installing just one ☝️Google Nest to control the 6 x zones. Or would you need to install 6 x Google Nests?

What about heat loss into the concrete slab as there is not likely to be any insulation under it?
Heat loss does not change with UFH or radiators - it is still the same. UFH makes it more comfortable and economical even without floor insulation. Panels provide some degree of insulation.

Hi. I called a company to give me a rough quote on a wet underfloor heating. He’s giving me a quote that seems expensive. Two rooms at about 12m2 each and is charging me nearly £3000. Does that sound unreasonable? He stated at the very beginning that they weren’t cheap. What do you think?

No I didnt shoot it. There is nothing to it really just use S2 adhesive

I fit my pipes concentric ,so the floor warms evenly .

Why didn't you turn the boards in such a manner to have the grooves perpendicular with the wall where you have the manifold behind ? This would have allowed you to also run nicely in the other room ..
You wouldn't have to use a router to route new grooves ...
Kit didn’t have enough end panels to do that and there was more routing to do it this way
Is there a place to by the boards tubing and the manifolds separately other than theunderfloorheating.co.uk ? They seem quite steep ;)
@@TheRealAnthony_real I am sure you can. Those systems are generally expensive. I got it form underfloor Heating superstore. I think the kit was 2k for 30m2
@@UrbanPlumbers I have a house abroad which I'm building and it has approx 180 sqm of ufh required however I can't find the hard gypsum board there nowhere .. just the kingspan boards ..
I have the gypsum kit fitted here in the UK with 3 zones and it works great ... Not sure how the other boards work to transfer the heat .. what do you reckon ?
