Sorry about the poor quality the signal was awful here 😓
Hey mate, you located in notts? Do you do work in derby? I am looking to fit UFH in my property, will have to be retrofit.
bloody awful.
Guys this video reminded me of a job i was working on where this system had been installed on a similar floor but with a cellar below. Anyway I had additional work a few months later, so had to work in the cellar. The home owner was telling me how the builders had had to return to fully insulate the underside of the floor as the warmth from the underfloor heating had caused a massive humidity and damp problem in the cellar. Thermal dynamics means that heat will always move to cold, so as soon as the room is warm the heat will then try to warm the area below the boards. This place was a big old building and the room had a high ceiling. I would suggest when you fit one of these systems to a floorboards with a void below, that you price into the quote to remove enough of the boards to install pir rigid insulation between every floor joist. You might want to install a humidity sensor under a floor beforehand so you can monitor what effect the heating is having to the void climate. You could be creating the perfect conditions for rotting joists and boards.
Marcus is one chilled dude.I wish i could find a plumber with the same relaxed attitude local to me.To help with my work load.
He’s awesome 😎
Where are you based? I'm in Bristol. Often have customers say to me how chilled I am. lol
Nice video PB! Today a Glowworm boiler service, replaced a leaking TRV, fitted a full bore lever ball valve to a upstairs Tank. Rebalanced heating system! Bit quiet, but enjoyable day 👌🏻
Like that 45 Degree Press Elbow at the end of the video creating great pipe geometry for smooth flows, also regarding that radiant underfloor heating system bound to be Game changer in the likes of those Older homes or even second floor level in New building .. Great Upload...
Good lad! With the Yorkshire brew bags 👏🏻👏🏻
Another informative video .. love the press fitting part
I agree with you on the nicer looking press fitting pb. They kinda look like old school Yorkshire's
Bang on job.. seems MLCP is the way now.. very good.. TH is good like emmeti more regular that K1 tiger Wavin which is a pain but amazing the whistle features if you not press then is whistle but is U profile.
Good morning Petey, missed the live stream, awsome video though! Keep up the good work brother!
Thanks mihtu 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Thanks for showing a real word install :)
Thanks for watching 🙏🏽
What mlcp do you use and what make is the uf system, nice work
Virtually every ufh job I do the punter always ends up trying to use the system like rads. Hour in the morning couple of hours at night and then complain it never gets hot enough. They never listen when I tell them how to use the system...
Excellent video thanks.
How will the owner feed new pipes in the future for hallway, toilet etc?
Hi PB. Q? The boards ye put down for the pipe roots look very helpful. But would them be worth investing in if a builder was doing 50 or more housing estate. Also if you have hot heating water running away from the manifold through a 100M pipe won't the floor furthest away from the manifold be cloder than closer to the manifold leaving uneven heating in the room?
Thanks 👍
Hi Pete, next day, just wondering if you have done this live, or are you going to edit a new vid on this, really good insight into this type of process???
There's a cat up hear! Never seen him yet. Lol he's probably in the floor under the boiler.
👀😬
Couple of Qs
What’s the reason of using non barrier the system going to end up like the first gen hep full of muc ?
Also sparkies moving the sockets higher ? They might need access under the floor :D
What is the make of the overlay system?
Also, what are the fixings to the floor? Is it fixing into floor screed?
What’s your opinion on having a zone valve on UFH? We’re never told to put them on.
Can this be tiled on top of? Is there another layer on top or do you carpet on to this?
Hi PB I'm doing big kitchen dinner media wall refit and considering dropping my ceiling 50 mm and and putting 30mm kingspan in them board over .
I'm putting underfloor heating in and in my mind thinking this will be expensive but more efficient in the future with less heat loss .
Any thoughts on this would be must appreciated 👍
What made u fit that particular ufh system. What make is it?
More high temperature ufh. You need to design for 55 flow now. At 55 fixed flow you will need to set your manual mixer to under 42c to prevent flow theft from the radiator circuit unless you fit hydraulic separation. If you use a modulating heating control you will need a variable ufh mixing valve.
A good rule to remember is that with any modulation controls you will need to fit hydraulic separation.
Low loss headers are one form of hydraulic separation. Three types are in common use. Close coupled tees, low loss headers and plate heat exchangers.
Hydraulic separation is needed when the flow for the system is greater than the flow of the boiler and in theory this is always the case if fitting ufh.
Other reasons for using hydraulic separation are:
1. Boiler flow is greater than system flow.
2. The residual pump head of the boiler is lower than required for the index circuit of the system.
3. Total protection from an old contaminated system is required ( plate)
4. Extra volume is required to reduce cycling ( volumiser and boilers with poor modulation fitted to ufh )
5. Multiple heat sources being used.
Each time I see a manifold with a high temperature fixed mixer I know the system will have issues. Not always noticeable but the design fault is already there.
For good design tips join the face book group for low temperature underfloor heating design and the sister group central heating design.
Mate in your honest opinion what is the best press tool?
sooo. . . with the wiring for the manifold, would you ever use / have to use a high limit stat on the incoming that would switch the pump off if it went over temp?
I'm looking some designs just now and most don't have them, though one I'm supposed to wire up has one on it, so like. . just wondering
just so you know most plastic pipe nowadays are barriered but most pex/ pert/pb pipe use a barrier which are not 100% proof but near as called EVOH. To have non-barrier pipe would be horrendous. But nice video. Also, how do you get on with the boards as not have a conductive surface in the groove so you find the output is reduced?
Where did you get the tea box from with kettle pots etc
Does the gaps need to be sealed on the joist and the boards ? Which brand boards are these
No low loss header?
What’s the deal with the uf pipe being non barrier????
I don't do any under floor but come across it, how are you not using some barrier pipe. It it's non barrier then there its semi permiable without a membrane like barrier and the system just airates over time just like standard non barrier or as its uf pipe like this red stuff is it a different type??
What make is the UFH material?
Hi P B Plumber. How much do you charge per square meter to supply and install underfloor heating. Thanks
How do you fix the pipe to the floor
What was the blue thing on the boiler
Ahh I missed the live 😩
I'm just an old school confident retired engineer /DIYer use yorkies and the odd brass compression fitting. No way I could justify buying the Rems kit, just curious how much (approx) the box and contents (press and all the varous dies) set you back. That said I've over £7k of mechanics hand tools /testers in my garage..
Thanks PB - perhaps a basic question here but wondering why the previous plumber put the magnacleanse on flow rather than return?
because he was lazy
Are you wearing spurs or got the full tactical belt kit on ??? 😂
Does red pipe get clipped in or does it just push in 👍
Just pushed in and the floor channel grabs it
What fuel is the boiler? what else does it supply in the house?
Gas combi so hot water and radiators
Both good Pressfit machines until you try and buy a REMS battery!!! The miluakee ones for the Geberit are an eighth of the price.
Who did you go to or know to source this underfloor system? I know there's alot out there..
Marcus sourced it from Beneath Heat
What’s the best temp to set underfloor heating
Phil
Flow temp. 45c -55c.
27-28C for engineered timber flooring.
Solid timber whole different ball game!
Air source great for UHF, about 45C.
If you want to store DHW at reccommend 60C, 365; forget it.
COP'S ( coefficient of performance)
The higher the ambient temperature the higher the COP, the lower the ambient temp. the lower the COP.
So best case COP of 3-1 looks a no brainer!!!
Even at 3-1 COP, to achieve 3kw for 1kw input at let's say 1KWH is 14pence and NG is 4pence , you do the maths!
Derek Robins at Tomkat has done a brilliant video on renewable, subscribe he is the business!!!
UHF like all heating systems, barrier pipe only.
What kind of floor they puting on top of ufh pipework?
A wooden floor I believe
@@PBPlumber gunna end up higher level than other rooms surely? Oh well handy for you guys 👌
Hi Pete, my aim is to move into renewables in the long term, but this system looks great as a retro-fit for things like air pumps. What is the heat loss like through the floor boards. What a system. BTW, are the insulated boards easy to get, I live in Timbuctoo, oop's I mean N'Ireland (I think deliveries to Timbuctoo are easier than getting them here), and the system looks quite easy to fit, how did you find it????
David try Polypipe in Ballyclare.
@@iancampbell582 Hi Ian, I'm in Newtownabbey, do you do UFH, if so, maybe I could give you some labour to get a few tips??
Not sure streaming live makes much sense!?
Why are you adding another bypass? The one in the boiler doesn't care how many zones you've got does it?
Hello sir can you have work I need pulmbing work
I accidentally ordered 12 tape measures instead of 2 from Amazon 😳🤘😂🤘
Buy for ten years, good 💡💡💡 :)
That flooring your putting down is like 20mm what’s going on top floor will be well high I’d of subfloored it that’s just me though also how come you put the zone valve close to the manifold I like to fit them next to each other in boiler cupboard not knocking your work it’s neat and good workmanship suppose everyone’s different
Must £1000 just in tongs 😳😳😁
Le plancher chauffant est hors du temps maintenant, il y a nettement mieux à présent.
Without the insulation under the boards, the heat loss into the under the floor cavity will be too high and efficiency will suffer tremendously.!!!!
you put any decent insulation under the floor planks or its ambient temp just beneath 🤣🤣🤣
Just a update the quality of the video is very low not has Sharp has before
anyone else seeing low quality
With the standard of our work or the filming? 😅
The signal is shocking here

Hahah just picture quality. The works always top standard 👍
@@joemurgatroyd333 I saw top quality potato vision.
I'd rather you upload a video then film a live stream. Really interesting video but unwatchable
