Sulphur Parachute

Sulphur Parachute is kind of specific imitation but by changing color of the biot we can imitate almost all mayflies we have in rivers or lakes.
In this video i am showing how to deal with biot. Trick i learned from a friend.
How to prepare parachute post so wrapping hackle goes smoothly.

I said this before that the camera you use is awesome. You can see the tiny bits of lint and debris, and the individual threads on 18/0 Nano silk. Very detailed. That is one gorgeous fly. I never used to tie parachutes cause I thought they were too difficult, but through your explanation, it gets easier and easier.

Glad i could help. I remember struggling with parachutes too.
Camera is not even a flagship... Its sony a6400 with very old adapted lense. Lense was only around 50usd

sulphur is yellow Oholi , I know because my province in my country refines it , Why are you using orange turkey Biot. That color is extremely hard to come by.I too love hackle capes and over the years I have accumulated 1000's of dollars worth of various capes from #24-to #6 hook sizes.The newest one is a bared ginger cape ($100.00) in sizes from 22- 12. Can't Wait to use it. I'm 70 yrs.old but Love tying and fishing. TIGHT LINES OHOLI.👍 PS. thanx for the reply on the hook size.

Yes, but this was not screaming orange, its pale and dull. Very nice color in person. Video doesn't do it justice.
I have only 3 capes. Two are grizzly 😂😂. Maybe you have noticed but i am tying a lot of no hackle flies. Its just result of my evolution as a tier. That said... I love my new grizzly so much. Amazing product.

The parachute post also represents the wing on a mayfly. Is there a reason you don’t shape the post similar to a wing, instead of cutting it flat at the top?

It can resemble the wing but many people tie it in fluo colour to see it better... In that case its hardly a wing... Following that logic i never saw it as wing so i never bothered to cut it to shape... Plus i think its just a habit to cut it flush..
Gordon Van Der Spuy cuts it with angle forwards... He thinks it improves visibility of the flies
