  • An easy-to-tie fly pattern from legendary Pennsylvania fly fisherman Joe Humphreys. A killer pattern in the mid-Atlantic limestone and tailwater fisheries. Keep a few of these in your box any time you fish where you might encounter Sulphurs or just need a searching nymph pattern.
    Hook: #12 nymph
    Thread: Brown
Tail: Mottled hen or other soft hackle
Rib: Gold or copper, size brassie
Body: Tan opossum dubbing, or buggy dubbing mix
    Thorax: Brown dubbing
    Legs: Pheasant hackle
Savage Flies is a new project (named after one of my homewaters, the Savage River in Western Maryland, US). I've been trout fishing for many years but have only been tying for the last couple and am learning more every week. If you have any pointers on techniques that would help, I would love to hear them in the comments.
I've been posting new videos every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:00 pm EST.

Nice job. Again the new intro and new platform is a keeper. I’m loving your channel more with each video. Matt you have this under total control. By far my favorite RUclips channel. As for the legs, the wedge you are cutting to “V” shape. In a future video would you mind showing exactly how you are doing this please? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for another great video buddy.
