I had Phyllis Coates at my convention years ago and told me George had too much to live for for. Had plans on doing another season of Superman and had sent Phyllis a script for a sci fi movie he was going to produce in 1960. He was murdered but my money is on Leonore Lemmon.

Toni had convinced Eddie to purchase the house for her which she then gifted to George. The movie hints that Eddie was supporting both George and Toni as George was strapped out.
George meets Leonore Lemmon, dumps Toni, and Toni has to move out. George then moves Leonore into the house. Toni is emotionally distraught. Eddie witnesses her grievement if you will, and he is the one who makes the arrangements to murder George. I do NOT believe Toni was aware of Eddie's plans for the murder as is thought, but may have been told after the deed was done.
That night - it is stated that it took 45 minutes before someone finally called the police.
This is the scenario as I feel it happened:
Every time a party was happening in the house there was a light turned on to invite people in. Everyone was laughing, and talking. Drinking heavily. Anyone can just walk in with the crowd and go upstairs unnoticed. I doubt anyone climbed through the upstairs bedroom window and then went out after the murder through the window. The reason I say that it was quite high and the structure of the roof as depicted in Hollywoodland.
I feel there were two murderer, not one. One George was fighting with and the other who shot hum. Another thing, if George was going to commit suicide why would he undress and commit suicide in the nude?
I feel after the gun was shot and it was obvious George was murdered the murderer(s) went down the staircase, and threatened the people who were present at the party. Gave them instructions on what to do or else...and went into detail...why it took 45 minutes for anyone to call the police...
Leonore Lemmon was NOT in George's will as the house belonged to Toni really and that is why he willed it back to her and whatever worldly belongings he had. It all made sense to me as to why he would do this...
Leonore leaves California, doesn't show at the funeral/memorial service for George and hightails it back to New York never to return to California again, as she was threatened and felt the threat.
Much later on she met Jack Whittimore, and lived with him. When he died she stayed in the apartment and Jack made sure she was taken care of as she stayed in that apartment. She had gained a lot of weight and did NOT look like the astute socialite woman she once did. Hollywood Kryptonite states in her later years she would prostitute herself for money to purchase liquor. I doubt that is at all accurate.

How many times did she interrupt him when he was telling the story? In the middle of speaking she keeps stopping him. Poor interview.

To me Leanore Lemmon is the best candidate for the murder . She had motive , likely in the room when it happened. Tells friends she saw him and try to stop him shoot himself , tells others she was downstairs when it happened. She leaves California right after and never returns. Pretty suspicious to me.

    • @eloiseockert6561

If what you claim is the real scenario, which is true then? She was downstairs saying line for line what George was doing, or she was up in the room and did the deed? Why would all these guests protect her?
I feel she left California out of fear...the 45 minutes that is unaccounted for as stated earlier was time for the murderer(s) to go down, threaten the guests at the party and instruct them as to what to say, or they would also be murdered,,,

Only Eddie Maddix had the power over the LA Police and local DAs to inhibit a proper investigation. So the elimination of Reeves had to be done by order of Eddie at the Request of his wife Toni. Leanore had no power to fix things in Hollywood.

This makes sense given everything I’ve ever learned about this story. Plus in a criminal case a dying confession (not to a priest but as a testimony of fact) is considered valid evidence. She would have had no reason to lie as there was nothing to be gained by it.
I wish the film had taken a definitive stand rather than portray both possible outcomes at the end. Maybe there were liability issues involved 🤷‍♂️

This is true although the priest knew the family over the years. It is possible that Toni wanted Lozzi with her during the confession. They way he describes it was that she was scared of going to hell. Whether it is true is difficult to discern.

One of the great Hollywood mysteries. Now even if Lozzi is truthful we must consider that someone like Toni who was suffering from Ahlzeimer's could actually believe she and Mannix did this but in reality did not. Guilt from sin can drive someone to confessing anything and everything. At the time of the murder Mannix already had a heart condition and was taking medication of the time. Could he have been impaired? Could Toni have given Eddie's boys a green light without him?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. He doesn't say she outright admitted it....so, just as you said, the possibilty remains that she felt her (documented) stalking of him for a few months post-their break-up caused him even more turmoil and depression.
With that said, though, there's no doubt Eddie Manniz was a vicious thug with ties to the mob. Read "The Fixers" for more info.

as it was his bedroom(where the incident occured)reeves could have considered or have attempted to kill himself there by firing a bullet into the floor on another occasion when no one else was in his house or even practised doing so i.e but without going through with it.... Lenore lemmon said was playing around with the gun the day before reeves supposedly killed himself and it fired a hole into the floor yet she never explained the other hole in the floor why????i believe(because the two bullet holes are so close together)that she or someone else had fired a bullet from that gun into the floor on a previous occasion but she was afraid to admit it because if she had admitted handling/using that gun on more than one occasion the finger of suspicion over george reeves death wood point to her.on the other hand she could have got used to holding it though that does'nt mean that she killed reeves either intentionally or by accident... I think those two bullet holes where there before the reeves shooting incident occured and don't have anything to do with reeves death a person wood'nt be stupid enough to leave a bullet/s holes in there victims bedroom floor if they where going to kill someone......

This "proves" nothing. She was in an advanced state of dementia at the time of her death. She could have been referring to the stalking and harassing phone calls that heaped more stress onto GR's personal life. Based on the autopsy, the state of intoxication, as well as the circumstances on that night, George probably pulled the trigger out of despair more than anything else

But George had 2 gun shot wounds, on the side of the head and in the back, if he shot himself and fired into his side, I strongly doubt he would have been able to fire a 2nd shot in the back of his head which would be a weird place and awkward place.

People like to speculate rather than be realistic about a situation. You have to understand the mind of an actor. They think they're so indestructible that they are invincible! He thought that in his mind he could not be killed, so he tested himself by shooting himself in the head....guess what....it didn't work!! Remember too that there was a lot of drinking that evening!
