Superblast is probably one of there best shoes made if people don’t like the price I find that odd when people will pay £280 for a shoe that wears out after 100 miles

I really enjoyed training for Chicago in the New Balance SuperComp Trainer V2 (coming off a bad case of PF). Had to decide between running in the Vaporfly, Alphafly or the SuperComp Elite V3 (all three I had done my speedwork in). I finally decided to run Chicago in the Elite and so glad I did. Got a 19:05 buffer for Boston 2025!

Ironic that the top shoe (Superblast) is not even made in my size but, as you say, seems to have "disappeared" generally. Have ordered a Novablast 4 though. Generally I am still using a lot of "old" shoes. If add all versions think Vaporflys and Endorphin Speeds make up the majority of my usage. Get the impression there isn't really a stand out any more. Good we have lots of choice these days.

I ran my first marathon ever a few weeks ago in the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 and had a great experience. I trained in the Triumph 20 and Speed 3 (I only hate the heel counter and hope it changes in v4). I grew to like the Triumph more and more as I ran in it. I'm almost at 500 miles in it and the midsole still has some life remaining. Note: I also trained in the Noosa Tri 14 and enjoyed this shoe when I wanted a bit more snappiness and ground feel (I like to mix up cushion and ground feel).

  • @SharaRuns

Agree re the Novablast 3, too soft and squishy underfoot causing my ankles to roll about too much, terrible sole which has little grip in the wet too.

  • @lowzyyy

Deviate Nitro 2 for speed and race.
Velocity Nitro 2 for daily base runs.
    Cumulus 24 for long runs.
(current mileage is 35-40 miles per week, 1:37:50 pb in half marathon)
I would like to try Superblast but its just not worth it. I bought deviate and velocity for 170$ total (100$ and 70$) which is still less expensive than Superblast.

As heavy (100kg) flat footed (so light pronation) beginner runner with an urge to buy shoes like there is no tomorrow my preferences are as following: 1 Puma ForEverRun Nitro (Futrograde for extra stamina and speed😉), 2 Saucony Tempus, Mizuno Wave Inspire 18 (a little too much pronation guidance for my liking).
And for semi-muddy conditions I LOVE my Nike Pegasus Trail 4 gtx (which also perform great onroad, but the rubber wears super quick so I try to save those for the trails) and when going into super wet muddy conditions I love my asics trabuco 10’s!
I also have some decathlon shoes, the Kiprun500’s I wouldn’t recommend those to anyone: they have the characteristics of a ballet shoe, they are nice for just casual walking/fitness aka daily life. Then I also got the Adidas Adistar CS, they have the characteristic of a wooden clog. Than my Asics Noosa Tri14’s and my Adidas Adizero Pro 2 I haven’t really ran in yet, the one time that I did I felt that I was too slow to benefit such shoes. The former has too little damping for my liking no and the latter feels unstable unless I pull a sprint (>20km/h).

  • @hiratiomasterson4009

The Superblast making both lists seems to be mostly because of the idea of value: people who really voted it down may not have minded the experience on feet, but the price seems to be pushing peoples buttons. But other people who really liked it seem to feel that the experience on feet was worth the price of purchase.

I personally find them supremely comfortable mile munchers - and as to value they are expensive but mine currently have about 300 miles on them but although dirty they are in perfect condition with little or no sole wear. I missed the poll! Of the shoes I used in 2023, my top 3 regarding use (which corelates to "like") are Superblast, Speed-3, and SCT V1. I don't have a bottom 3, because I watch your reviews and don't buy any rejects. I did the most racing in Alphafly2, on the track, due to a bad year of PF. A couple park run 5ks in the Speed3. Most trail miles in Hoka Stinson, but got Trabuco Max2 later in the year, ran the Grand Canyon in those; I like them more than the Stinson. I still think if I have to take one pair of shoes that will do anything I'd go with the Speed3, they are good for intervals through long runs.

Puma a great option for rotation and all purpose, from velocity nitro all models, I ll get the deviate elite cause i think is a great option. I ve some doubts on deviate nitro 2. I was huge fan of the Invincible 1 and 2. so I was really looking forward to the Invincible 3. It was disappointing to say the least. The biggest culprits were the stiff upper and heel slip. That said, I'm still going to hang on to it since I picked it up for really cheap and it's still a decent shoe. My favorite of the year is a shoe I just picked up a few days ago, which is the Infinity Run 4. I've used the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 more than anything else this year despite it not being a 2023 shoe by any stretch. Other notable mentions are the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro and the Asics Metaspeed Sky + for racing, plus the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 as mentioned above as well as the Speed 3 above which is still an infant in regards to its miles trodden by me, but a worthy successor IMO. I have also enjoyed the Reebok Floatride Energy 4 and put a lot of miles in on the soon to be retired original Puma Deviate Nitro. Heel rub notwithstanding. Surprised on the intense hate on Invincible 3. Heard so much complaints on heel slippage that I didn't consider it till recent Black Friday sale. Just ran 10k with it yesterday. Wow, very fast shoes and no slippage issue for me at all. Really enjoying it for me.

    • @MiracleWarriors
      @MiracleWarriors 8 месяцев назад +3

Same ! Got it in the Black Friday ( 40% discount)and then went for a 7km run in this heat spring here ... no slippage ,overheating, or instability. Actually, I found it a bit more stable for my overpronation than the Gel-Nimbus 25 that I had until recently. Hopefully, I will continue to like this Invincible 3.

@MiracleWarriors yesterday I'm supposed to do a recovery evening run (had a hard tempo 14k in the morning already) but the Invincible 3 was so good and bouncy, it turned to a progression run, faster and faster each km. The Nimbus is just 'meh', very cushy but not responsive at all, sold mine after 100km

I got ask as I’m looking at the Superblast. A size 12 has been too hit/miss in most running shoes. A 12.5 alleviates all sizing issues BUT is impossible to find in the Superblast. I’ve seen 12s and 13s available. Would the 12 be too small or the 13 be too big? $200 is a chunk of change but I gotta see what this shoe is about? Thanks, guys!

The Triumpth line is generally decent, but skip version 20 of it. It's rather bulky and the midsole feels like a thick slab of cheese under the feet, that contorts against the foot rather than gives any squish or bounce.
It gets a bit better after 20 or so miles, but it's just generally a slow, hefty shoe only good for slow runs.
