    The pearls of wisdom Dana was providing caused me to pause the video, head out to my yard, pull out a wedge and take a few (15) swings while focusing on keeping my left wrist (right handed golfer here) rotated left. Results: WOW!!!! Impact... AMAZING! Compression... AMAZING! Ease of swing... AMAZING!!! Distance with my wedge... HOLY MAC!!! ok, i'm subscribing right now.

I hope to get a lesson with him as soon as my shoulder heals. I have been working on wedges and driver so much lately and I'm deep in the struggle right now. I've been using the pro-sender a lot and it has really helped with getting shaft lean and more rotation. Remember rotation still needs vertical extension like the toe to heel lead pushing force and getting taller through contact! I'm excited for the next video!

  • @timothypollock8358
    @timothypollock8358 7 месяцев назад +8

    Those are definitely the keys to ball striking. What's interesting is that you are coming full circle back to Mike Wydra's ONE DRILL video concerning the proper wrist delivery of the club into the ball (there's a punch shot in every golf shot). Mike does it differently because he drops down steeply in the downswing and then gets the wrists in the right position to get the natural draw and power produced by hands ahead, lead wrist in flexion. This shows that there is more than one way to get there but the effect through impact is the same. As Mike explained, these wrist positions get the hands ahead at impact, the club workting inside out, and the club descending into impact (for an iron), with the face squaring to the arc all through this one mechanism. It's pure magic for the golf swing! It is also one of the biggest keys to effortless power. I am very happy to see this coming into your swing, Jerome. Cheers.

    Coach Dana makes this amazingly simple. He says to practice hitting it straight and hook it low drawing left. Obviously one can’t play that way. Implied that’s a drill and more to come.
    Where does coach explain how to fix low hook? Is it just more lateral hip shift and turn hips more?
    Sounded like he was gonna do a lesson on helping straighten this big hook out.
    Cheers
    -Brian

    • @WindigoMac
      @WindigoMac 6 месяцев назад +2

      The low hook is caused by face being overly shut to path and dynamic loft taken off the club. He wants the low hook cause it would mean Jerome is flexing his lead wrist aggressively enough. Once that feel is ingrained in more rotation and a slightly less aggressive wrist would straighten it out. Was my understanding of the video at least

  • @joyoon

    I went and did this move today on my swing, and OMG. I've never hit shots quite like this before. Much lower and driving out, compared to my weak fades or slices. I'm a 22 handicapper so couldn't do it every time, but I did do it enough times to see the benefit. I will be practicing this move often over the next couple of months. This just might be the best golf video I've watched on RUclips as far as immediate improvements to my swing.

    What a great lesson. I really like this coach. You did great Jerome. I too agree that you are likely overthinking it…. Likely because it doesn’t “feel good”.
    After watching this lesson, I went to the range and mimicked everything that was said. it sure feels foreign, and most all my balls were going left and low (exactly what he wanted). This obviously isn’t an ideal ball flight and not something that looks or feels good or can play good golf with, but it’s a stepping stone. I’ve realized you have to be uncomfortable in order to get comfortable in the correct position. Stick with the process! My compression has already improved , and will continue to practice these wrist angles until I don’t have to consciously think about it

    Took a few years off & have been struggling to feel that "trap" I used to have. This video is so good. Only issue I have is a slight push with my 2 longest irons. Any ideas?

    Funny how I just picked this up a week ago and testing the theory behind the wrist and rotation. This solidify that I’m in the right path. Thanks for the video.

    It appears that Dana has learned from his students over the years and the clarity of intent and explanations has really made these videos- great- what was known and informed information even 5 years ago clearly has evolved. When you mix solid information with clarity of presentation - wow… When working with top tour players one better be on top of understanding and application… Great tribute to Dana…. Lots of instructors “know” something about golf mechanics,physics etc… seldom however does it match a student on so many levels. No 1 shot slice cure here… but understand hands and body mechanics… maybe…😊

    the left wrist (right wrist for lefties) / wrist roll emphasis before coming around and rotating through emphasis has helped me a lot with better shaft lean and contact giving more distance too

    I’d be interested in what your thoughts were of the STOW STICK golf accessory…. It sure has made a difference in my putting movements…. The resistance band also helped out in keeping my hands out of my game… “Thank You” for your for your well explained video..
