Hello guys,
I own a himalayan bs6 and a really close friend of mine owns a 2017 dominar and the two of us have gone for a few rides together where we covered a lot of highway miles and then took the bikes off-road.. trust me guys, as an owner of the newest varient (and the best one to date) of the himalayan I can tell you that you will feel the lack of power on the highway when you compare it to the dominar which shines on the highway. The himalayan does have adequate power to keep you going on the highway, you can easily cruise between 100-120 but when it comes to overtaking a big truck or something, the dominar does it with ease. But as a customer I understand that the bike is not made for covering a lot of highway miles and wants to go off road.. that is where the bike truly belongs and trust me it handles the off road beautifully well. It feels is significantly better than the dominar on off road conditions. By no means am I saying that the himalayan is bad on the highway or the dominar is a bad off roader, I'm just highlighting the differences between both of their riding characteristics. I feel that a bike will treat you the way you treat it.. it's a machine and if you take proper care I don't think any of the bikes would give you any major issues.
Sorry for keeping it so long,
Ride safe!
Uu
Yes i agree with you. Bikes are purpose build . If we r maximum on highway then definetely dominar and if we have to cover offroad it is obvious himalayan. Still if he choose dominar is better, its his personnel opinion.
Even if it's long it's worth reading . Thank you..
@@chandraguptabasumatary8732 absolutely.. I am a big fan of his content and I completely respect his choice. I was just sharing my experience with owning a himalayan. Cheers👍
Give me one good reason why I should go for the Himalayan...
I did laddakh on my discover 100T in 2015 as my first year of engineering. I rode it from karnataka gulbarga city all the way up. Everything can go anywhere depends on the person taking it. If you make a newbie sit in a triump he'd complain about it yet you make a pro sit even on a 150 he'll take it.
ALpHa Gaming....very well said.
Karanatak 😊
Bro how many kms was it?
Bro I am from ugar karnataka. I also wanna go for ladakh. Your did an awesome job. 👍👍
Perfect ...mens don't compare bike.
No machine is perfect. Even 20lakh bike have problems
I have bs4 Himalayan. I ride it pretty harsh. No problems faced by me yet. 7500 kms done on it. And I’ve covered lot of mountains like Badrinath and mana. I don’t find any problems with my bike so far.
Then u r lucky.. i hv a host of frnds who are fed up from their Himalayan.. there r no 2 ways abt it that Himalayan is as shitty as it can be
U r very lucky bro ✌️
I have two dominars, personally 2019, four REs, one 220 street and a Benelli 600i in my immediate family. I can totally rely on my dominar 2019. Very reliable. Did a 10 hours Bangalore to Hyderabad recently with two stops...no hiccups whatsoever
😃😃😃
@@rahulVlogs u r very natural in your demeanor
Some are saying that bajaj engines will face some problems after 30000kms or after 40000kms like some disturbing sound from the engine is it true?.
Bro, the same engine , rather the older SOHC 35Bhp has been tested for world tours, pole to pole, trans Siberian missions! The only bike which has been tested so extensively! Plus it all depends on how someone takes care of their bikes....that's the difference between bikers and riders...bikers are a different set of minds altogether...I have already done a lakh kms but alas I'm not from the go pro community...no videos! Haha
Thanks for reply .. do you face any other problems in your bike?? And I also like to buy 2019 dominar is it ok??
In Himalayan there are some electrical problems but dominar is butter smooth .I own a dominar and I love it ... Love your vlogs 💯 and the way you explain .. keep it up good job, brother.
😃😃😍😍
@@rahulVlogs brother I forgot to ask you that when your going get a ECU update on your dominar. Please make a video on it.. thank you have nice day..

Been using my dom400 for almost 4 years now. Done 22k km. Not a single problem faced. Recently changed tires, coolant and spark plugs

Reliability should be main concerned .... Sooo End of discussion. Buy a dominar, stay happy. Never seen a bike broken in half , not even see a cycle broke like that.
Breaking into half is very dangerous, RE crew is selling bullshit
Royal Enfield ka bike mat lo Yar. Yamaha, honda, bajaj sahi hai

Thank you so much bhai
1:36 Correction: Alloys spoke wheel se zyada strong NAHI hota hai. That is why most off the Enduro/Dual-sports/Dirt bikes have spoke wheels instead of alloys.
Alloys are basically good for 2 reason: 1 Lightweight 2. Tube less hence easy to fix puncture.
However some high-end bikes like GS1250 / KTM ADV 1290 have tubeless spoke wheels.
Advantage of Spoke wheels: 1 Can take more beating 2. Easy to repair if bent/damage.
But given today's scenario, i think one can do away with Alloys. Having a bike with spoke wheels make me carry more tools on long trips added the discomfort of extra time spent fixing tube puncture.
It indeed was a honest opinion. No clickbait !
Ride safe
I am a Dominar 2019 owner. During my recent Spiti ride I rented the Himalayan for the circuit. The Himalayan clearly lacks power. In some of the steep climbs, even on first gear it struggles. I met a few Dominar & Mojo owners who's bikes were doing these stretches effortlessly. On the other hand Himalayan definately gives you confidence to off road due to the suspension and ground clearance.
True, again suspension and ground clearance is of no use if you have no power to even climb a small steep. 411 cc kis baath ke liye hai is bike pe samajh main nahi aat, i regret buying himalayan
Yas and too much weight
Himalayan is very good at low end torke and still you say it was struggling in first gear see buddy i never faced any problem on my Himalayan i have 2017 model it works perfectly fine and if we talk about chassis broken down bhai accident m toh bike tutegi he na we didn't know how that happened ..!!
perfect bro
I own a thunderbird, trust me you miss the pickup and top speed when on highways (Realised this when I did Delhi to Leh). India has so much more better roads now, you will feel left out and underpowered on highways on any RE (Except 650 cc variants).
I am planning to reture my RE to dad (he really likes it) , and planning to get a dominar for city or travel if needed when I'm not driving the car. Also, you can put those off-road tyres on Dominar and enjoy best if both worlds)
Super, to the point, very much neutral and unbiased practical video based on true experience. Great .... Keep rocking bro.

First I'm decide to buy a RE Himalayan. Then I saw Bajaj D400 and decided to buy it. And now Bajaj has launched D250 now what to do please suggest me better way..😣

Completed 48000 Kms in Dominar 2017. I have found it very reliable till now.

Aap jis video ko dikhakar Royal Enfield Himalayan ko defame kar rahe ho vo rented bike thi....uska service kaise hua , vo kitna chala hua bike hai ,uspe weight kitna tha,
Koi purana accident hua tha ki nahi
Aapke paas koi genuine details nahi hai phir bhi brand ka nam kharab kar rahe ho .......
Dominar is anyday better bike in highways but leh Ladakh jaise high altitude circuits par RE king hai,
I would rather pickup a less powered but a comfortable bike ,on which I can be confident........
Talking from personal experience of riding both the bikes
Jab high altitude passes pe heavy luggage ke sath ride karoge naa
Tab jaake pata chalega bike pe confidence hona kitna important hota hai .....
Thanks for the honest comparison.
But Spokes wheels are good for off roads and they will help the suspension to absorb more shocks.
Kindly note that The Triumph tiger also comes with spoke wheels,😊
Tiger does come with Spoke wheel, but then it also has tubeless tyres.
BMW 1250 gs adv too..
Well things with bikes is how you treat them, i have seen people treating there bike like shit and then complain abour the bikes reliability issues.
vishal upadhyay finally someone who knows stuff
But Rahul itchy boots noraly didn't found much problems in Himalayan
She is very gentle on her bike, yes she rode it around the globe. But still she was never hard on the bike. Himalayan is not really a off road bike.
This really is a testimonial to how awesome a rider Noralay is. She maintained her machine very well.

You being a Dominar 400 expert can you solve my question ?
It is
Why is there vibes at 3K-3.5K RPM in Dominar 400 2020 version ?
This is with every dominar 400
Problem is 80% of the time you are going to use the bike in this rpms. Single cylinder with this much power cannot do a lot . Best is use some good double sided tape and tyre tube and stick it on the chasis and under the seat and heavy duty rubber under the plastic tank , this is going to significantly reduce vibration
@@rahulVlogs No there is ko tank no vibes from any other place it only at handle bar and foot peg when i cross this rev range to 4000RPM tha vibes are completely gone... I know its not meant for slow traffic.. thanks for your feedback
Proud owner of 1st generation dominar.....I ride my domi400 since 2017 and I like the bike very much ....far better then RE
How much did you buy your dominar for?
@@amoghpalyam4603 in 2017 i paid 172000 rs on road for my first gen domi400.still love to ride it ...
where you need ground clearance, then himalayan excels, but due to the reliability and not having a sustained speed of 100, himlayan is worse than Xpulse too.
120 kmph is an average speed you can maintain normally on Himalayan
hi... thougts about scram 411 ?
for daily commute 30km for office and ocassional off-roading... or you suggest any other bike in same price?? I have back problems
Dominor seems to be better... i have one... getting average around 33 in city... also ride himalaya... but still dominor is best
Is 2019 editon?
jasi jasi Yeah dude
Bro I am a bit tensed...I have ordered SVS Handle bar raisers..I am bit worried will it break while off roading or if bike falls ?...
Sir,Which colour visor looks good for dominar green ? Full black ,smoked or transferent?

THINKING OF BUYING BS6 DOMINAR. LET'S CALL IT "DOM". SOUNDS MORE FAST AND FURIOUS.
DOM
Request you to make similar video on Yamaha FZ25 ABS 2019. As that bike is also considered as tourrer bike.
Royal Enfield are rubbish you said straight forward right people purchase it for nostalgia, actually main reason is Indians thinking are "they want sasta Sundar,tikau..... So they don't look for reliability....i am crying with my Thunderbird 350x I'm probably gonna sell it before the end of this year and look for dominar....what is the meaning of that bike if you cannot run it for minimum 100 even I have 500cc variant it's doesn't feel like 2.5lakh rather then crab..im 5month I have rolled out more then 10000kms but can't do more...
mere pass 2k18 dominar hai 1 year complite ho gya or service disc pad ke air filter le alawa koi kharcha nahi aya or bike abhi bhi smoth chalti hai 9000 km complite ho gye
The biggest problem in your review is you took the wrong point. No road side mechanic can fix your bike if it's Dominar or KTM. You need showroom guys and the service at Bajaj is pathetic. Himalayan is easy to work on and any one can fix it that's a advantage when you get stuck or anything. If someone likes touring and likes to explore should go for Himalayan, it easily does 105 all day. And if someone is touring on highways they can go for Dominar. I personally own a RC 390 and a Himalayan. I did Spiti twice on my Himalayan with zero problems. Yeah and I own the BS4 and have done 20,000 kms
Cheers
The Himalayan breaking in two were all rented.
Still bro even if they were rented, how can they break?
Some did wheeley stunt on that Himalayan several times which created a crack in the joint :)

Kisko ye log bura bolthe hai na uska market sales achhese hota hai. This is the fact. Because once I asked my friends who love bikes. Dominar 400 is very good bike but why it's sales low ? Sir please help me out with my problem, I'm ready to invest upto 4 lakh on motorcycle right now and I have 2 motorcycles from 2 different segments GT 650 and Himalayan! My major criterion is Motorcycle should last longer! And a fine built quality. I want to keep it as long as possible! If I want I will buy another one in upcoming years but this one is special for me, so Just name the motorcycle and clear it up.
Seems like you want a bike for lifetime . This case go for Honda CB 350

I bought dominar last week it's coolant has decreased to minimum.
Service center has topped it and said it's common
Need your opinion, what should i do?
Sometimes default from factory coolant is less don't worry no problem . If anything happens we are empowered with a 75000 kms warranty of engine
On first day it was slightly below max and I'm observing it decrease daily.
BTW thankyou, warranty will cover it if there is a issue
Just check if the coolant is mixing with engine oil or not. Some of the old Dominar's had that issue. I didn't face it though
I've checked it from the oil window, didn't saw green particles in it. It's clear
Are it's common...new bikes face the issue of coolant consumption...it'll get better as it clocks more km
