If the show fails, it ain't on any one of these actors. They feel genuine. They are all likable. They don't go off on some weird social media agenda like we see so many actors doing. They are all happy to be there. Even if luffy's actor does some cringe or cornball things, I think it's from the heart. Fingers crossed

@@takeuchi5760 Japanese PR are very strict. They almost control everything. Kinda like KPOP, those idols are not even allowed to confirm they are dating. Another example if you notice how dry Mackenyu's IG is (nothing but basic work promotion) whereas compared to the other cast who posts personal stuff.

However, there are quite a few Japanese who are so quiet.
There are many people who are culturally bad at loud movements and vocalizations.

My English is poor, but I would be happy if the misunderstanding of Mackenyu from overseas could be eased even a little.

Honestly, the cast is the reason I'm gonna be watching this show. They are perfect! It's taking me back to my childhood of when I first watched One Piece.

I said this same thing as far as the cast starting to grow on me. Luffy’s actor does portray the spontaneous goofy side of Luffy.

Sanji and Usopp are my favorites from the live action crew. I'm mexican and I appreciate Inaki representing and being THE Monkey D. Luffy but I agree with Brago, sometimes I'm just like quit talking bro. Meanwhile Sanji and Usopp seem super chill, especially Sanji. Nami is cool, Zoro didn't say a word. Sorry I don't remember their real names, it's just easier to call them by their character names.
Makes sense. Mackenyu (zoro) is my fav, taz is tied for fav actor (outside of the show). Inaki being luffy, Jacob being ussop, Emily Rudd being nami. (Just helping you, screenshot this if you need to)

I heard that Mackenyu cant do much, like talk or acting like himself more at these events, because he is an idol/actor/singer in japan and his contract obligate him to some restrections. like when is in public on others contries.
Not the case here, it’s an interview where he’s allowed to speak (most likely). I have Japanese friends and they ALL hate loud sounds- and they tend to be quiet.
I'm not sure how much Mackenyu got to interact with the cast much during filming, maybe thats why the chemistry isn't there.
People need to remember his father who was a famous actor Sonny Chiba passed away during filming.
Sonny Chiba was in Kill Bill (Hattori Hanzo) and Fast & Furious Tokyo drift & also in many other Japanese films.
Maybe his father's passing (Covid complication), probably explains why we didn't see any pictures of him with the cast that entire time when videos & photos were posted of the crew together minus him, all hanging out.
He also had other projects going on too.
Or maybe it's just his personality to be like that with them all being very energetic which makes it seem like he's the odd one out.
We don't know how he was behind the scenes so let's not make assumptions

They could be acting as their characters all the time ive heard from certain actors like Joaquin phoenix who played joker he went literally crazy and insane to be come joker always talking to himself you hear jim Carrey saying he spends a lot of time becoming other characters so much that he doesnt really have time to be himself. So it could be the case they are just perma acting the character in public for practice
