Building a 1971 Challenger for Roadkill Nights. We might be in over our heads

- So here is the build up of the 71 Challenger. This video will walk you through what we had to do to the car to get it to the point it was in our last video. It was a completely restored running and driving car that we blew apart and sent the body out to have the undercarriage and engine bay stripped to bare metal. We then proceeded to do minor rust repair, fit the new 6 speed trans, smooth and shave the entire engine bay while mounting all of the new electronics, computers, ac, and control modules on the inside of the firewall. Underneath the car got a whole lot of new structure to strengthen the factory unibody and we removed the leaf springs for a triangulated 4 link and a 9” with 3.55 gears. The car was mocked up with a Hellcat engine we already had and now is completely back apart and ready for the paint shop!

Nice work!
Thank you
I was born and raised in the Detroit area just remember that our roads are brutal hopefully they'll give you some smooth road , glad to see you reinforcing everything Good luck with the challenge always good to step out of the norm.
We hope so too.
gonna be bad ass!!!
Hell yeah it is
I'm surprised this isn't going to be the oldest chasis in the event. Haha GL hitting that deadline!
thank you
Looks like you guys do really nice work. Not you typically youtube hack job
Is it just me or did it look like the engine had a lot more clearance along the drivers side as compared to the passenger side? I’m assuming that was done on purpose for steering shaft clearance?
It is slightly shifted to the passenger side as is the factory engine that came out. Yes it is for steering and foot room as well. The engine accessory drive is lopsided looking as well which makes it look even more off center. The cradle we are using is made that way and is designed for a gen 3 hemi in the challenger
@@CorrupttBuilds I never knew the factory engine was offset in those cars, very cool! Love the builds you guys do, keep up the great work!!
That's a lot of work left. There is no way
Its gonna be close
I was hoping somebody was going to put one in a Dodge Dakota..
definitely wouldn't have been us
