I love it so far. I just wish I had more time to work with it. Just got a stump bucket to put on her and get digging out stumps next weekend. Should be fun.
Man! That winches them up fast! Unbelievably fast. I see what you mean about it being a game changer. You got my curiosity up. New subscriber here. I want to follow along on your channel and see your progress.
Yes, I just haven't had a chance to make a good review of it yet, because we've been out a whole crew while using it. So I didn't have time to document it while salvaging falldown from high windstorms we had in 21/22.
@@tractortyme , there is a livestream that Ed from “ My Cluttered Garage “ puts on at 7 pm eastern every Monday night. It is a great group of small compact and sub - compact tractor owners getting together to chat. Your TYM and forestry winch would make the headlines on this livestream if you can manage to make it. Every Monday night at 7 pm eastern . 1 hour long. Held to strictly. Hope you can join us. Would love to have you
One tipp: always pull straight, the rope and the tractor should be in a straight line. To prevent a rollover of the tractor. It is relatevely light, the old golden rule for the winch size was 1 ton winch pulling force needs 1 ton tractor weight… I use a carraro tgf7800 which has 2,2 t only… I use the cords differently compared to you, i have one hand on the mudguard if the tractor to feel any movement / turnover / whatsoever, and look to the log to see if it hits a stomp or runs against a tree, therefore the other hand pulls the cord, but i have to be close to the tractor… The danger of broken ropes, chains being catapulted versus me has not happened in 7-8 years since i use the winch…
@@robertgoetz2678 Line was mostly straight...it was a limb I didn't see further up on the one log binding it on 1st try, I always leave loader down, brakes on and IN 4wd. I take safety serious while I'm learning how to best use this handy tool. This spring will be serious use as I will start working on an area with lots of downed trees on the property.
No, you really don't need to run these at PTO speed, that will be too fast. PTO speed on this is 2400rpm, I was at 1400.....you can adjust the PTO speed to your liking off course. But I like to take it low and slow on these things.
Damn I loved every minute of it! That’s a nice setup you got there ! Does your winch run of rear remotes? Iv been wanting to find a mini hydraulic winch for the back of my bx for when I gotta skid logs as I have rear remotes on my tractor. Great vid!
Nope, it just uses the PTO, it is a mechanical winch.....10k # pulling power. Or 4.5 Metric tons....it is a must if you mess around in the woods AND a grapple on the front.
That thing can pull. Even if it's just one log at a time. Have a good week! See ya!
Very nice working winch the tractor can handle a nice load of logs
Love it...laughed the entire video. Strong winch best of luck with it. 😊
Thanks, Pete.....this forestry winch is a game changer.
Hey, saw your channel on the live broadcast last night. Stopped by to see your channel. Subscribed, liked and watched complete. Nice set-up.
Thanks, I see you have one of the new Kubota L2502's, how do you like it so far? Nice machines I think.

@@tractortyme , I had to cut out early. I had someone stop in to see me.
I am using the same winch, it is an extremely useful tool, i run it at idle engine speed with the 540 ECO pto
Yes, it is one heck of an attachment to have available in the woods.

It didn't sound like the PTO was running very fast. Is it 540 rpm like a snowblower?
