Man that thing rips!! The shindaiwa 488 is a nice 48cc power saw
I love it when a plan comes together! Skill plus luck sometimes equals an awesome result. Congratulations on this keeper.
Amazing job look forward to seeing how you do with the 757!! Keep up the great work!!!
Just recently found your channel, love it man. Glad you brought up saw fest, I am only about an hour away from Marysville and I had never heard of this event. I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks.
Great job Bodie. I've known about the power and speed of the 757 for close to 30 years. A friend of mine bought one way back then and told me it was the fastest and best running saw he ever had. It's nice to see one that you built.
I just scored one of these with little to almost no hours on it. It’s a great saw! Love the air filtration on this saw!
Love your content buddy! that thing rips! BRO one came up on marketplace with a full wrap for 20 bucks.. and was gone in seconds
Never thought that a shindaiwa chainsaw would rip like thaf! Sounds like a mad dirt bike
Beautiful saw !! Love them damn things
Well done brother! Would love that saw in my shop 👍
I usually run a 20” bar & chain on my CS 680 (24 -27 was offered at purchase) because I can buy them cheaper at menards so if I ruin a chain it would not cost as much to replace. I bought it with the 27” bar. Nice thing is the 6-10 McCulloch bar and chain fit it.
You really like that Shindawa to the point it's causing you to think it's cutting faster than it really is)). Still a strong old saw👍.
Got one just like it! You are 💯 it's a beast!
Great little saw those we have been running a 18 inch Bars on ours hear in Australia 🇦🇺 makes little work on gumtrees
Was wondering why it disappeared! Still a good video!
I was a small Shindaiwa dealer at one time... the stock 757 was set up to California emission standards. You would burn the front of the piston in a short amount of time...so you would have to adjust the fuel air mixture so not to burn up the saw...I have two 757 saws. The two 575 saws I have been running since the mid 80s...they sold to Echo around 2008 or so because of the crazy emission standards were changed ... some of the best 2 stroke machines ever...in my opinion!! Oh I don't like what Echo has done to the Shindaiwa equipment
My first shindaiwa is 1991 488. That saw is 2 years older than me. I was impressed by The high quality of The saw. So ive Been shindaiwa man since. Now i Have 300,300s,360,377,400,488,580 and 685. 685 is impressive hard biting saw. That saw eats Wood.
Who could like what echo has done to Shindaiwa, I really wish we could go back in time to really appreciate what they made before echo reduced the name to just a deeper red copy of themselves. Kinda like what husqvarna did to jonsered.
@@benjaminleslie3155 huskie has eaten everything but Stihl. Tens of saw makers are basically Husqvarna
Nice old saw. I used to have a 757 for 3 years. They have good low end torque. I ended up selling it to buy a husky 572xpg, but kinda miss my old 757 sometimes.
Sweet channel! Just subed
Awesome saw
I have the 488 and 757. Love them both. 757 is amazing!
nice saw..strong and fast too
Hellboy is putting the hammer down!
I think Hellboy is a fitting name 4 this red beast👍🆙BigGuy
Shindiawa stuff is great, they rev like nothing else
Hi, what proportion of the fuel mixture are you using to this saw?
Don’t make me like Shindaiwa’s, darn it!
With these hotter big cc saws, who you run these at 40:1? Thats a ton of power going through the bottom end !
They are great saws man they have torque and speed
god i love that power saw
I chose Shindiawa first back in about 1998, and still have one - the reliability is a level above all others. I started with a 577P, now running a 488 …. I think 😅
Yeah Boy!! Wicked saw! I'm a Shindaiwa Fanboy... i got an awesome deal on a "one tree" 488 from a chainsaw numptie (he even admitted to starting it with the chaingaurd on... 😏 maybe he saw the look on my face when i saw the mangled chainguard and he felt the need to say something) - i'm gonna go looking on your channel to see if you show how to do the muffler mod (looks the same as my 488) otherwise i'm hitting you up for some tips. Loved this video... is this chainsaw porn???
757 it's like the log was never there
Not bad for a almost 80cc saw.
I wished more companies did the larger air filter
Hello, I'm watching You Tube from Japan!! I also use Shindaiwa's old machines! 1 E350, 2 E400Elsewhere E488I have!In addition, the ECHO 30-year-old C356There is also! Old machine, but in good condition Is good! Please use the machine of Shindaiwa carefully! I'm looking forward to seeing the video again! "Please don't get hurt!"
Hello! I will be visiting Tokyo this September and am hoping to do something fun with chainsaws. Can you help me? I am wanting to find a place where I can find good deals on older Japanese chainsaws like Shindaiwa and Zenoah, also a place where I can buy new Shindaiwa bars, and even a factory tour of Yamabiko and Zenoah. I will be staying in Ogikubo. If you could help in any way, it would be wonderful! Even if it is just an address to a great store. You can email me at Boedychainsaws@gmail.com
Ok badass... but more importantly what's your new kicks? Thoroughgoods? Setters? Where's the cowboy boots!!!
Even better the 2nd time
Oak is a fairly hardwood, and it ripped through it like a hot knife through butter 🤯🤯🤯
Will that fit on my 455 rancher?
Which model take the place of 757 ?
Damn a rooster tail of sawdust is awesome
Shindaiwa!!
I'm not sure about these saws but they make awesome weed eaters
👍
Wow
What are the benefits of porting and muffler mods ?
Considering some work on my Echo 7310.
More power!
Just watch the videos on the 7310 he did send yours to him and be amazed.
That thing FN rips
Why does people use bigger bars that they need
As far as I know echo is the weekend warrior line and shindiawa is the pro. Been that way for a long time
13000 noload is stock mine is getting ready too be shipped home from being ported
I'm a die hard "old school" Shindaiwa phanatic. I have 2 of the 695 saws with 20"bars from 1988 and 1992 that I bought new.. Both have been used A LOT with NO rebuild. I have a 360 saw that I bought new with a 16" bar from 1995 that has been used A LOT with NO rebuild. I have a 757 saw with 28" bar. I bought it used so don't know a lot of history but it is stock and is a beast with the 28" bar. Shindaiwa quit selling saws to the USA when the emissions stands compromised Shindaiwa's standards this leading to the transition to Echo. The Echo era saws, blowers and trimmer are NO MATCH to the "Japan" Shindaiwas.
The 695 looks a LOT like a low top 757 and identical to a 575. Good looking saw! I've been thinking I'd like to find me a nice low top 575, and I would...but it looks soooooo identical to the 695.... is it the same chassis, but the 695 just has about 10 more cc's? Does the 695 feel like it's the same size as your 757, or does it feel really small compared to it? I REALLY like my 757, and I would love to get another older Shindaiwa saw. Would you let go of one of those 695's? I mean, c'mon!!! you don't need both of them! And I'm giving away saws left and right here...I need my stock to get replenished!
@@novicelumberjack The 695 is a beast with 20"bar and will handle a 24' pretty good. I do a lot of post storm mission work on the NC East coast and the 757 w/28" bar was needed to handle bif pine and pecan trees. Other than the bar length weight, I can't tell much difference in the 695 and 757. Sorry, but due to my mission work needs and having some volunteers that don't have larger saws I'll need to keep both 695s.
Shindaiwa is owned by Yamabiko Corporation like Echo and other companies like cordless power tools brands. That’s why the also start making cordless tools like chainsaw and leaf blowers. Belief it or not but if you compared apples to apples - a 500$ Echo saw will beat a 500$ Stihl with ease. Dopp'
I would like to see it against the 7310
How's about a 395 with a 16 inch bar... After listening to you about your bar sizes I thought f**k it. Why not..😂😂
That saw is one bad dude. Whats the cost to Port a saw, I've asked others but noone ever answers me. Idk anyone that ports them so don't have anyone else to ask other than RUclips
I loved the Shindaiwa 757 with the big air filter
I was running a 24 inch bar man that saw had lost
off down low torque for a 70cc saw.
The biggest mistake I made was lending it to a friend of mine who is a mechanic who decided to adjust the Carby and leaned my saw out and seized the piston .
I still am pissed off about it!
You have great running saw if you ever want to sell please let me know.
Man... if you break someone's shjt you replace it. He should at least buy you a jug and a piston even if you do the work.
The sad part about it is that he denied that he did anything wrong.
There hard to get parts for them now been out of production no longer making piston’s and cylinders .
I have the Husqvarna 372 that has replaced it” I’ve learned a lesson don’t lend your saws out.
@@tonytribisonna9886 Man that sucks.
Sorry. Stories like that hit me right in the gut. I've had friends turf a few chains but this is a whole other league.
@@tonytribisonna9886 Yep, only lend out thing you can do without.
Echo bought Shindaiwa. Probably around 2015. I know as far as the weedeaters they are echo design and not the old-school shindaiwa. Or at least not completely
I just found a 757c for $200 they say it runs well! Pritty good deal?
Snatch it up!
Nm, I seen ware you have $280 into yours! So at 200 that's a deal! Lol I might need some help on my porting! Wish you were closer to oklahoma 😪
@@novicelumberjack on my way now to do so :)
Such a B.S. reason for a copyright☹
Man she's a ripper!👍🏻
YES they are owned by echo but run better that a echo, I run a cs 310 a shindawia 492 & cs590
That saw could compete with stihl 500i
Stock there with 5/8 mod and 8 pin they are close too a 660
Boedy yamabiko corporation of Japan makes echo and shindawa peace
Rippin saw... a lot of smoke or something burning off after you shut her down and before you started talking story time
Paint on the muffler burning off
Dude you're in ohio??? I'm in Moscow and I need a fella like you I have a couple saws I'd like worked on hell I'll make the drive Murrysville only couple few hours from me but worth it for a good saw mechanic
I'm in Atlanta. Making the trip up to Marysville just for Saw Fest.
@@novicelumberjack well shit that's a long way for a chainsaw guy lol
Yes Shindaiwa is owned by echo and pretty much don't make anything they used to but instead have been reduced to just a carbon copy of echo with a deeper red. Very sad.
Shindaiwa is not owned by Echo. Echo is a western friendly brand name of Yamabiko Corporation of Japan and the name of its US subsidary. Yamabiko exists since 2008 when Kioritz and Shindaiwa merged. Before that Echo was a brand name of Kioritz Corporation and since 1978 the name of its US subsidary. The name Kioritz is in use since 1971 when Kyoritsu Noki Company of Japan decided to change its name. The first chainsaw under Echo brand name was released by Kyoritsu Noki in 1963. Currently Yamabiko sells chainsaws and other tools under Shindaiwa and Echo brand names. In Japan they use Kioritz name too.
@@elpolaco7654 well I'll take the L on that one, thankyou for clarifying I didn't have a full understanding of the relationship between kioritz corp and shindaiwa, thankyou for this information 👍
It’s not hard to tell what saws have echo influence and what ones are shinny dna.
Murbuena es tube una por 11año

Kiaora from New Zealand naziland,I used to have a couple of Stihl chainsaws both got coveted ,so bought a shindaiw,a best one yet why echo got in on the ownerships was political science called climate change 2 strokes were to be banned so it was bought by USA n got the manufacturing rights NZ sells them ( CO2 cràp)
Stupid copy right crap. This is a sick saw hopefully you get everything out of it you want for saw fest
Copyright this youtube!
RUclips is asho so I’m putting 2 comments in this time.
And maybe three just to show some love 🤘
I might even just sit here and talk to myself 🤣
Thanks Troy!
Me: I said to my self “self that’s a ripper and you know we crazy right?”
Self: yeah we are 🤣
@@novicelumberjack your welcome brother!
Shindiawa went to crap when echo bought them
I regret not buying a 757 that was assembled in Oregon 😩
Boedy will you sell thus saw? If you are interested in selling it give me your email, and I will contact you.
