    I usually run a 20” bar & chain on my CS 680 (24 -27 was offered at purchase) because I can buy them cheaper at menards so if I ruin a chain it would not cost as much to replace. I bought it with the 27” bar. Nice thing is the 6-10 McCulloch bar and chain fit it.

    I was a small Shindaiwa dealer at one time... the stock 757 was set up to California emission standards. You would burn the front of the piston in a short amount of time...so you would have to adjust the fuel air mixture so not to burn up the saw...I have two 757 saws. The two 575 saws I have been running since the mid 80s...they sold to Echo around 2008 or so because of the crazy emission standards were changed ... some of the best 2 stroke machines ever...in my opinion!! Oh I don't like what Echo has done to the Shindaiwa equipment

    I'm a die hard "old school" Shindaiwa phanatic. I have 2 of the 695 saws with 20"bars from 1988 and 1992 that I bought new.. Both have been used A LOT with NO rebuild. I have a 360 saw that I bought new with a 16" bar from 1995 that has been used A LOT with NO rebuild. I have a 757 saw with 28" bar. I bought it used so don't know a lot of history but it is stock and is a beast with the 28" bar. Shindaiwa quit selling saws to the USA when the emissions stands compromised Shindaiwa's standards this leading to the transition to Echo. The Echo era saws, blowers and trimmer are NO MATCH to the "Japan" Shindaiwas.

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  Год назад

      The 695 looks a LOT like a low top 757 and identical to a 575. Good looking saw! I've been thinking I'd like to find me a nice low top 575, and I would...but it looks soooooo identical to the 695.... is it the same chassis, but the 695 just has about 10 more cc's? Does the 695 feel like it's the same size as your 757, or does it feel really small compared to it? I REALLY like my 757, and I would love to get another older Shindaiwa saw. Would you let go of one of those 695's? I mean, c'mon!!! you don't need both of them! And I'm giving away saws left and right here...I need my stock to get replenished!

    • @davidholcomb9276
      @davidholcomb9276 Год назад +1

      @@novicelumberjack The 695 is a beast with 20"bar and will handle a 24' pretty good. I do a lot of post storm mission work on the NC East coast and the 757 w/28" bar was needed to handle bif pine and pecan trees. Other than the bar length weight, I can't tell much difference in the 695 and 757. Sorry, but due to my mission work needs and having some volunteers that don't have larger saws I'll need to keep both 695s.

    Shindaiwa is owned by Yamabiko Corporation like Echo and other companies like cordless power tools brands. That’s why the also start making cordless tools like chainsaw and leaf blowers. Belief it or not but if you compared apples to apples - a 500$ Echo saw will beat a 500$ Stihl with ease. Dopp'

      Shindaiwa is not owned by Echo. Echo is a western friendly brand name of Yamabiko Corporation of Japan and the name of its US subsidary. Yamabiko exists since 2008 when Kioritz and Shindaiwa merged. Before that Echo was a brand name of Kioritz Corporation and since 1978 the name of its US subsidary. The name Kioritz is in use since 1971 when Kyoritsu Noki Company of Japan decided to change its name. The first chainsaw under Echo brand name was released by Kyoritsu Noki in 1963. Currently Yamabiko sells chainsaws and other tools under Shindaiwa and Echo brand names. In Japan they use Kioritz name too.
