Amen!! Society puts so much pressure on us moms to “do it all” or “have it all”. We need to ask ourselves what that looks like for each of our families, and have the courage to make it happen! I’m so proud you!

Thank you so much! Hard decision for sure, but I know it’ll be worth it! ❤️

Listing to this as I'm filling out the FMLA paperwork for maternity leave ... Financially I think I'll need to keep working at this point. Even with daycare cost for one child coming out of our income, financially that makes more sense for us since I don't think we could cover our monthly cost on my husbands income alone.

Good for you…and your little guy! :)
I struggled with this decision myself and choosing to be a stay-at-home-mom was the best choice for our family. Soak in every minute, they grow up fast! So proud of you!

I've had a similar experience with HR. I can't believe she was so nasty. Good for you for quitting.

What a horrid and backwards company. That HR lady was totally inappropriate but unbeknownst to her she actually asked you a great (although unprofessional) question which helped you gain clarity on how to deal with the situation.
They really should have taken steps to accommodate working parents' needs, but I guess being honest from the (near) jump was better than wasting your time for any longer than they did 👍🏼

WFH doesn't mean you can keep your kids with you 😮 they still need to be with someone who can give them 100% attention when required. WFH just means you can work around your household commitments with more flexibility. I'm happy you are where you are now but no one should ever even attempt what you did 😢 never ever.

Appreciate your thoughts! Some people have no choice! The cost of childcare is so outrageous and many parents find themselves in a position where they have to juggle both caring for their children at home and working from home… what did people do during COVID when schools and childcare centers were closed? People have to find what works for them. My son is now 3 and in a full time preschool program, and I’m back to working from home full time. There are many days where he stays home with me and I still work on those days. It’s a balancing act!
