Actually, I could see that being an ongoing series where they talk how to make smaller resorts into a destination worthy ski resort - and, more importantly, _should_ that be done.
You could help reduce some of the crowds by installing a chair from the center of the Airport Lot that runs West up and through the saddle North of peak 6 and back down to treeline on the West side of the ridge (no downloads).
I’m surprised you guys didn’t propose a peak 5 expansion project. Extend the groomers on the north side of Peak 6 to a spot where two lifts meet. One goes up to the high alpine of peak 5 and lift accesses the extreme chutes near Beyond Bowl, more bowls and potentially more tree-cut runs. The other lift returns you back toward the base of Kensho.
By that point, the vertical gets really short. Either that or you start dipping to really low elevations. Still a solid prospect though, just nitpicking
On the issue of not replacing surface level lifts with chairlifts due to winds; Doppelmayr has 2 and 3 cable chairs (and gondolas) that are much more stable and resistant to winds.
You gotta bring back the core community. Idk if Breck needs infrastructure upgrades as much as they need to attract a community again. Needs a full reinvestment in the park program. Breck used to be world class and an event spot. Now it’s an afterthought. So weird to throw that hard earned reputation away.
I think what is sorely missing is an easy way for beginners to get between peaks 8 and 9 and vice versa. I think a gondola would do it. I also think a gondola from one of the bases to the top - like at Keystone would be ideal - that way it takes pressure off the base areas for experienced skiers - perhaps some how extend the BreckConnect gondola - but I'm sure cost would be huge. Between the two of you - I like both sets of ideas but the last idea about expanding the beginner area with a gondola on peak 9 was it for me - SRG wins. I'm still a beginner so I'm not familiar with the rest of the Breck so I can't really comment on anything else. But, the airport gondola was also a brilliant idea (money no object) - but there needs to be a way for beginners to get to peak 8 easily - although two gondola rides isn't too horrible.
i’m gonna be honest you guys are like the einsteins of skiing. the knowledge in your brain when it comes to skiing is great 😂 i love learning about skiing so these videos are pretty cool edit: also when is the next ig
A couple bits of criticism. 1. Have Arjun hang up curtains in his room along the walls, cheapest way to improve acoustics. 2. Just screencapping zoom kills any pretense of production value, and if you record your webcam and voice using OBS, and import them both separately into davinci you get the full original quality for both of your webcams and mics. If you add the video and audio to the timeline in one go it should be automatically synced up, and then all you have to do is sync up both side of the conversation, which has plenty of room for imperfection. Also I know literally nothing about this aside from helping friends edit gaming videos and dumb skits, so you can fully ignore all of this as meaningless trolling.
We fully appreciate the feedback! I'm proficient in Premiere Pro, but I'll be the first to admit that audio work and pure videography are not my specialties. We will definitely do some research into all that. Thank you!!!
My one critique, which yes, I understand the rules don't regard wildlife preserves and costs, but I don't believe LPOA builds 8-seater lifts at the moment. I think Shangrei won ultimately, but both had really awesome ideas!
I definitely like your proposal to upgrade Chair 6. In addition to your proposal, I would like this new Chair 6 to start at the bottom of Frosty’s next to the E-Chair. This would allow expert skiers to go quickly and right away from Peak 9 to 8 avoiding the Superconnect mid station, which is often crowded and slow.
I find it interesting that you guys seem to be concerned with possibly encourgaging skiers to access terrain that might not be suitable for their level. Is this something that ski resorts consider as well when decided to upgrade a lift? If so, I find it ridiculous. All that needs to be done is for conspicious signage to be placed. I do think some resorts could add better signage about how the lift only accesses advanced or expert terrain. Signage should be like at Kirkwood for the Wall Lift, for example. On another note... A gondola from the free parking lot (Airport) is a solid idea if it keeps the parking free. Otherwise, I am against it. With how many days I ski a year, I strictly follow my principle of not spending a dime at the mountain. This includes accessing free parking which is getting harder and harder to do. I have no issue with getting to a mountain at 7:30 am so I have enough time to get to a lodge to relax until 30 minutes before the lifts open to get on one of the first chairs. No upgrade to E Chair? That is some of the best terrain to lap at Breck.
We're trying to maintain the established balance. People tend to overski their abilities on Imperial Bowl already, while neglecting the actual 6 Chair terrain. We want to keep it that way, rather than having them overski their abilities on BOTH sets of terrain. As far as the resorts go, I think it's not purposeful, but rather just a result of laziness, as far as signage, or a lack thereof, goes.
@@SRGSkiing Got it... Now I fully understand your rationale. I like these videos... I hope there are more that might include Kirkwood and Park City?? Especially since Park City will have some Olympic events in 2034?
@@SRGSkiing No matter what you guys come up with, the PC Planning Commission will say "no" like what they did with the Eagle and Silverlode upgrades. Such a shame due solely to complaints of 4 residents. My idea... Add a new 6-pack near the Canyons base of the Quicksilver Gondola straight up that bowl to the upper ridge. I do think that is a very avalanche prone area, but it would open up lift access to Pinecone ridge and offer another way to get to PCMR side. Town lift needs a serious upgrade but the bottom terminal area may be too small and too expensive to add in a detachable lift or gondola. Last idea... Make Dreamcatcher a detachable. Canyons base will be taken care of soon with the new Sunrise Gondola.
I admit defeat in this one, Shangrei destroyed me with his superior lift knowledge. BUT, we're definitely making a comeback for the next one!
Nice SRG posted another video!!!
But actually I think that this series is a new and unique series, and more content is always great.
Make the next one Eldora because they just put it up for sale. You buy it, you have X amount of dollars…make Eldora a destination resort
Not a bad idea
Actually, I could see that being an ongoing series where they talk how to make smaller resorts into a destination worthy ski resort - and, more importantly, _should_ that be done.
first order of business is build a bike park

Didn't know I needed this content. Subbed

They have bicable and tricable gondolas, yes, but as far as bicable chairlifts, that would be a custom build, which would be exorbitantly expensive.

You guys should do one for whistler as it currently has a lot of high alpine problems on blackomb and mid mountain problems on whistler
Definitely will sometime soon!
Okay 7:43 is kinda a good idea. It's so hard to safely get over to Peerless/Volunteer if you're riding up on Beaver.

Ummm... September 13th I think
Yeah it's September 13th and 14th
@@SRGSkiing what resort if u don’t mind saying?
Mt Hutt. Nakiska the week after that
They re adding a gondola from the Maggie to top of a chair via mid station stop at falcon and ten mile
Yeah, we factored that in when we made our projects, as we discussed in the video
the airport lot will be turned into workforce housing in the next 5-10 years… free parking will move closer to the north side of town.
