Hahaha. Feels like my story is being played out here. I am 4 years older to my husband. We’ve now been married for 40 plus years. Forty years ago, such an alliance was totally unheard of. No surprise, my MIL flipped when she first heard about it. Took a little while but she did come around finally. To the young generation i would say - be sure about your relationship and stand by it firmly.

However our parents never had a problem regarding this age difference,so I can say,we are fortunate in this matter...
My mother in law was also two or three years older to my father in law. And that was in 1960 but nobody made an issue out of it. My ma in law was also very intelligent and careerist and was a strong support to my father in law. They had a beautiful marriage.

Very bad match. Age is everything in marriage and sexual relationships. Women become adults at menarche(1st period- 10-11 yrs)itself, fully fit for reproduction. Only boys are children till 25 yrs.18 yr old woman is too old for a 21 yr old male child. Women are ripe adults by 14 yrs itself, as they start menstruating even as early as 9 or 10 yrs.😮18 yrs itself is a very high age for women, which should be reduced. For boys, the min.age at sexual relationship or marriage should be atleast 30 yrs. It should be made as a crime for any woman to marry or have sexual relationship with a boy aged less than 30 yrs.Women who marry a same age guy or a guy just 2 yrs older will look like a granny to their husbands 😂😂, and will be no match to them. Ideally, the male should be much older(min.5 yrs to max. 12 yrs) than the female.

I'm not against marrying elder bride but just want to provide some fact for this example, That time in Dwapr Yuga, it is said that average lifespan was 1000 years. So age gap of 15 years that time would be equivalent to 1.5 year or 1.5 months.

I think in older days getting younger DIL in order to take care of the aged husband in their later married life. .The society has always been selfish choosing all goodies for men. That's what I feel.
My both sons married older women. We got no issues. That's their choice and family. I married who is 7 yrs older than me. Age shouldn't be an issue.

My ex was 4 years older to me - She was in LA and I was in London. Things started off pretty chill and sweet, maintained the relationship for 1.5 years (during Covid). We had excellent communication. It had to break off when my parents and my sister didn't like the match also they did not support us. Also the timing wasn't right either.

Don't make such content. It creates false hopes. The reality is people are just so scared of taking stand. it takes a great amount of time to come out of the trauma, realizing that it didn't work in the end. Blessed are the ones who stood against all odds and chose happiness.

What i am saying is that the part of "society" is there. Sure one must not do things blindly due to society but one should think why did society adopt certain norms. There had to be some good rational. In this case apart from other things its the physical compatibility which matters especially in the 40's. And yes physical compatibility is an important factor in marriage there are numerous un happy couples because of this and it has also been accepted as a grounds of seperation by courts around the world.

Frankly speaking the problem could also be with the kids being narrow minded. They are not open to think of the rational why society adopted the norm of the age. Open mindedness is about understanding the rational about why others think the way they do.
@@jonron3805 in this age, everyone has access to knowledge and people know why. Back then marriage was done to join families and couples have the pressure to have children. They also have to deal with a ton of judgmental people. Hence why they choose younger women no matter how old the man is. However, that has changed now. People get married mostly for a lifelong companion and not just for biological reasons. They also focus more on individual choices now and ignore judgements so they overlook the age factor. Don't forget that for many generations most children have been obedient to their parents and only marry people that their parents approve, before becoming more independent and making their own choices now. To each to their own 🙂

Marriage between same age group is generally good.
Mother point of view is correct but its not directed the right way. Generally, girls have more maturity and multi tasking capacity than boys of same age. That's why girl of 18 and boy of 21 is basic requirement for marriage act.
Marriage is one time in a life without second chance for both. Its not between 2 soul but 2 families. So girl age (biological cycle) matters. Guy should be very clear on what if she can't conceive? will definitely have physical changes after motherhood? What if something happens unfortunate to me.... Is his family members so broad to empathize with his decision and willingness to accept unconditionally and continue lifetime and vice versa? If both families are clear, then age or caste or religion doesn't matter. In most of such cases, girl will become victim and has to compromise a lot. Don't blame society. No one has enough time to poke into others life.

ITS SCIENTIFIC. Nature has made girls mature faster and reach menopause also before the guys. Thats the reason the order of the difference in age should be maintained. Otherwise when the man hits 40's his partner will not want to be physical as much and he will tend to peck other places. Other issues like mental maturity too become problems.

I got married at 37, had my first child at 38. And my husband is 6 years younger...my pregnancy was a cake walk...and my child is absolutely brilliant and beautiful...grateful to God.
