Is it just me or does Porter Robinson just sound like the best teacher to have for beginners. I would love to learn from him, super helpful and letting Ludwig just do what he wants and experience what he is doing while helping him and making instructions very clear
Honestly, I would have loved him as a tutor when I was starting out a few years ago. I got into the self taught loophole and yeah that didn't work out and I gave up and decided to focus on my actual career lol.

This is genuinely one of the freshest videos lud has dropped. Entirely new but insanely entertaining compared to his other types of vids. Porter is an insane teacher/mentor and guided this video to amazement.

Porter is an entertainer that held up the vibes for bit more than an hour, and showed ludwig what being a music producer is like. What happened is like watching a coding tutorial, someone tells you the steps, you follow, you forget. What ludwig learned is not how to use samples, he learned that samples exist. He did not learn learn percussion, he learned that it exists. Sure, you can consider that a positive, and that is absolutely what it is, but alot more could have been taught in that time,, with better people. Porter Robinson was on for his notoriety, and for his capability and talent as an entertainer, not a teacher.

6:11 is probably the hardest I’ve ever laughed at a stream just the insanely base boosted drum beat coupled with Ludwig’s face gets me every time. This section in the VOD is longer and I highly suggest finding it and watching it as it’s some of the funniest shit in the whole stream. This stream was amazing, great work to both porter and lud
Loved that moment where each preset just fucking destroyed the drums in a completely new way and Porter lowkey digging it

I remember hearing the final beat on the clips channel and I was like "oh that's cool, makes sense since he got help from Porter Robinson so I'm not surprised" but for some reason watching this video and actually hearing the pieces fall in place with just a BIT of guidance from Porter made the song light years more impressive to me
As someone who dabbles in music production, this turned out WAY BETTER than I ever could have imagined. I would actually love to see a follow up to this.
1:33 thats the sign of a great teacher, getting on the level of the student to figure out how best to approach teaching, thinking back thats how all my favourite teachers taught their classes
So is being educated and knowing how to express your experience no longer required in a good teacher? Get a grip. Porter is a good entertainer, but any self respecting musician would never say he is a teacher.

Any self-respecting musician or even person would say that clarifying what the student sees or hears is a sign of great teaching.

@@Whatismusic123 I think knowing where your students are at is incredibly important. You can't go full throttle into a subject of your expertise and expect everyone to follow you. If I was in a situation where I was doing something for the first time, I wouldn't want my instructions to come to me as if I should already know how to use everything.
My 3 favorite artists are Porter Robinson, Avicii, and Madeon. Seeing Porter pop up among streamers and youtubers is amazing honestly.

The only two prominent artists I’ve seen try to enter the streaming world is T-Pain (who did it insanely successfully) and bbno$ (who never put enough effort into honestly), oh and I guess Kenny Beats, but like no one outside of that is capitalizing on it. Theres so much room for ‘competition’ in the streaming world of music production.

That choir loop was seriously fire. The second Ludwig replaced that second voice sample and Porter's face lighting up- we could feel it too. It was just so right. Amazing moment. Amazing creation.
The moment at 9:25 where both Ludwig and Porter realised they could be onto something with the choir sample was crazy good energy. I feel like Ludwig kind of doubted the whole sample idea but Porter being a well practiced musician realised you just have to try different things, trust the process and not be afraid to fail. That exact moment is when both of them knocked heads together and had a moment of inspiration

Lol I remember what I think ended up being Porter’s first show. I was promoting at Motiv in Santa Cruz. His parents had come out. Played his first big single twice. Nicest of dudes then and now. Super talented then and now as well. Funny to see him still on FL Studio.
