Hey Ethan! Had a great visit with your parents and your dad gave me the gift from you. Thanks for thinking of me. I can’t wait for the opportunity to get up your way and get to meet you. Please keep up your great videos and of course your amazing art.
I did one a few years ago and yours is much improved great project 👍 Perhaps I could copy you 😌 Agree lots of preparation for most of BlackSmith projects. BIG THANKS FOR PREPARATION INFORMATION 🙏 Thanks for teaching me John Switzer taught me the Fredrick Cross and I believe the Hummingbird
Absolutely love this Mr. Ethan. I like the idea of fabricating specialty tools and jigs as well. Anything to speed up the process of producing multiple pieces that are nearly identical. I always enjoy seeing increase in speed as a result of the tools and jigs. Watching this makes me want to try my hand making a hummer or two!! Thank you for another delightful video. Oh yeah I hope you make a little profit too! 🤙🏼
Awesome project/job! I worked for a furniture manufacturer that would make custom projects. We used to have to make our own bending jigs to make what the customer wanted. The ones you made for your scroll work are the same as we made ours. They don't have to be pretty, just need to get the desired shape you want. Keep up the great job.
Very nice design. 😀👏 For the finish, why are you not applying the linseed oil while the iron is black hot? It cooks the oil instantly and gives the job a lovely black, shiny and durable finish. I'm sure your venture will pay for it's self.
Thank you! :) And as far as the finish... It being more durable when applied hot is actually a new one on me! I'll have to give that a go. But for use with inside plants, I've found a thin coat cold does the job, and I actually prefer these without a black finish myself. But it's just a matter of taste. Thanks for watching and the kind words!
Great delicate work! May I ask what type of bandsaw are you using (the one with the Starrett blade) to cut stock? Yours seems very simple and efficient.
Well next time I'll do my best to make 2 videos then. :) Parts of the push stick though were not OSHA approved & required the near 0 tolerance on the work rest haha! But it worked, so... :)
Your skills and talent have me taken aback. I know you worked extremely hard making the steak flipper and skewers; however, this is absolutely outstanding. Thank you for an excellent video with precision thrown in for good measure. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Too kind, thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! My goal with starting this channel was originally to show people what I was capable of, and the possibilities that forging has in the art sphere, which is much more my passion. I definitely haven't been very intentional with that, but I'm planning to swing back around. :) Glad it shows!
Howdy! It is 1/2" square, and 3/16" round. Which is both easier, and yet more challenging technically. :) Hope that helps! If you make one I wanna see!
I built the forge myself. The burner is from.. Pine River Burners I think is the name. Some of the best that money can buy, and keeps me from making something that could explode.
I admire your craftsmanship and especially your tool building and modification!
Thank you! If I can sort out my technical difficulties, I may have one coming up that'll blow the socks off the rest of my tools haha!
@@BlazingEmberForge can't wait to see it, I hope you get it figured out!
Fantastic workmanship!! Thank you for explaining all the steps.
Very nice work and solid methods! Inspired even!!
Absolutely Lovely! Cant wait for the Turtles ive forged to have some humming birds to harass them hahah!
Hey thanks man! Feel free to send a picture if you make some! :)

That would be awesome for you to get up here! And yeah dad texted to say he was having dinner with his "axe murderer friends." 🤣

Thanks for teaching me

Thanks! And you're absolutely welcome. :) If you make one send me a picture!
And I love Mr. Switzer's channel, he seems like a really nice guy. :)

Thank you! I *also* like seeing it speed up a bit haha! If you do make one send me a picture! :)
You have to promise not to laugh!!😂
Hahaha! Of course not! I am a laughing guy so I'll get it all out now 😆

I saw it on Instagram so I had to see you make it on RUclips bud!
Well thanks! I appreciate it :)
Pretty sweet!
Thank you! :)
Outstanding! Subscribed!
Thanks! :)
Wow. Take a block of metal and turn it into that? Man has skills.
Well thank you! I do try to excel at whatever the Lord graciously puts my hand to. :)
Bro! Great idea! Split cross into a bird! I may copy this a little. I'll do a Jay bird or a sparrow! Good shit!🍻
Thanks! Feel free to send a picture if you do! :)
Nice work friend.
Really nice gonna try to make one 😊
You can do it!

Is this square 16 mm and light approx 80 mm ?
Nice work! What size starting stock is that?

Thank you.
It's a no-name 1952 power hacksaw. 👌 Modern bandsaws, probably even small ones, are definitely more accurate and faster.
I'd love to see more about how you made the push stick and bending jig

@@BlazingEmberForge Am truly looking forward to your artistic expressions. I'll be watching with you. 👍🏻
Hello, I liked what you did. You can know the dimensions of the metal and the thickness
Aw, but exploring that to make it match your own style and purposes is half the fun! :)
Is that 3/4” square and 1/4” round?
Howdy! It is 1/2" square, and 3/16" round. Which is both easier, and yet more challenging technically. :) Hope that helps! If you make one I wanna see!
@@BlazingEmberForge thanks. I might try it someday. I’m quite new to forging so I’ll need to work up to it. ✌🏻
What brand of forge

Nice
Thank you :)

I love the technique, but that vise moving around is making me twitch.
