    Nice idea, always wanted a simple variable powersupply but not something connected to mains. I coincidentally have all the parts for this that are not being used so thanks for the great idea.

    May I suggest for the novice that you show which wire goes where when you connected the potentiometer given you used all yellow or Mark them so we can just follow the video.
    What about air-flow ( cooling) or is that not a factor?
