- Eric Clapton - "Crossroads"
Live at the Civic Center Hartford, Ct. April 12, 1990
Crossroads is a classic. Here Clapton adds a 3 minute intro and his performance is excellent. Видеоклипы
I was at this show. It was absolutely amazing. I was standing right in front of him in the front row. The hat thing was hilarious. It was the era of Arsenio Hall, and the whole "Woo Woo Woo" with the arm thing was popular everywhere. Everyone up front started doing that. Clapton and the rest of the band thought it was hysterical, and they were all laughing and doing it back. That's when everyone just started throwing their hats up on stage. There were tons of hats on the stage so everyone in the band picked one up, and put them on. People went nuts, and they closed the show that way. I'll absolutely NEVER forget that night. I was 18... AMAZING.
thanks for sharing.
😂niceness❤❤❤❤
RUclips is the closest thing we have to time travel
The soldano amp and lace sensors is the clapton sound I grew up with.
It’s my favorite too! It’s the sole reason why I bought and still use a Soldano.
No one can do intros like Clapton, he's the Master
This is how a guitar ought to be played... captivated!
I was at this show. The people on the floor of the Hartford Civic Center stood for two and a half hours. It was that kind of show. The hats were tossed on stage about halfway through. UConn had been in the NCAA tournament and the Hartford Whalers were in the NHL playoffs. They picked up the hats and wore them for the rest of the show.
I was there too. I was standing right in front of him, front row. Remember when everyone started doing the Arsenio Hall "Woo Woo Woo" thing? That was so fun. What a night.
Wow Clapton sure can play circles around everybody...
Not jhonny winters Rory Gallagher it’s ally he would have trouble with
@@Leo-uc8zv gallagher cant hold a candle, he aint got the touch clapto does or precision or 60 years of proving it.I cant agree with you there. Not say hes a bad guitar plaer, just hes no clapton, nobody will be clapton, like nobody will be jordan again
The Hartford Whalers were in the NHL playoffs in the same bldg. Fans threw some Whalers hats on stage and EC and some of the band members wore the hats for most of the show. Now that's appreciating your audience. I know cause I was there.
I was too. Front row, standing right in front of him. Remember when everyone started doing the Arsenio Hall "Woo Woo Woo" thing??? Such a fun night. Amazing.
Man that 90s Soldano tone was truly something else
Eric the king of his guitar😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Favourite tone and playing !! The soldano rocked
He might not hump his guitar or start small fires on stage but I'll be damned if this man isn't the greatest to ever touch 6 strings just a fact figured everyone should know
With CLAPTON YOU JUST RELAX LISTEN AND ENJOY.
Oh my 'GOD'. one of the best performances iv seen of clapton. proper fire in the belly giving it some. class
best crossroads version
Saw Mr. Clapton many years ago at the old Three Rivers Stadium. He was out front doing some riffs, the spot light on him, jamming away, and he took his hands away from the guitar, put his arms in the air, and the riffs kept going. The spotlight moved to the right and on Yvonne Ellliman, and she was wailing on without missing a lick. Lots of people can jam like their the best. Why rate them, just enjoy it!!
thatz totally Badass rite there !!
killer
Who the heck is this amazing guy?!! Signed, "A Millennial."
Wow, dude. Only the best rock & roll guitar player that has ever lived. Mr. Eric Clapton. He's in his 70's now. I was at this show, standing right in front of him, front row. I was 18 at the time. He's my hero to this day, and why I play guitar. Definitely gobble up as much as you can of his. He goes back to the early 60's.
This sang in our wedding sadly the love my life now resides with the Lord see you soon
extraordinary....
Yeah, such a fun seeing him walking around like that.. And what a f... super-band. Phil Palmer (guitar) and Alan Clark (keyboards) from Dire Straits were in the band too.
God
absolutely incredible
Well that's something you don't see everyday - EC in a hat! Great upload though, that intro is intoxicatingly good!
The only time I've seen him wear a hat was while fishing.
I was at this show. I was 18... standing right in front of him in the front row. Everyone started throwing hats on the stage, so he and the band put them on. It was so funny. People stood the whole show. It was one of his better performances. He and the rest of the band were just on that night. Amazing.
Thank you for sharing this, I'm from New Britain CT. I recently moved to CA for family and I'm a little home sick, then I saw this-
Thanks again!!!
Oj, why haven t i seen this yet?!
He never painted my house but this dude stole my guitar and put me to shame
its really cool
Really on fire
Put that guitar down and paint my house !!
une tuerie. 😁!!!!
the guitar is literally smoking
Ha I could do that!! Note for note........But I'd need two weeks and the lights on!

🌟🌟🌟 ERIC CLAPTON 🌟🌟🌟
Phil Palmer takes the middle solo!
Yeah and check the version of this song from "Eric Clapton: Play With Fire Revisited 1991"
Which also one of the best version of I Shot the Sheriff recorded.
90s Clapton.
+29sentz Hm,i think i like it ;)
Τέλειος ο Έρικ
his fingers are playing so hot that the neck starts to smoke, i think
had to watch this again..good job slunky08..I love it when he jams like this..and he looks so cute & sexy in that hat :-) ...and cool with the cig..God I love him :-)
In his prime!!
geez that intro gives me chills...want to get up and dance :-)
guy in the hat's pretty good!
fucking awesome man
clapton sounds pretty good with soldano amps.. he should have sticked with it
But, you forgot the Marshall at the bottom...
A bit of stevie Ray in there
You mean: " a bit of Clapton in Stevie Ray Vaughan"...
Porque de tanta criatividade mister Clapton???
I really dig Clapton's Soldano period :) (though hate the leather pants and shiny emo-guitar strap ;) )
Anybody who can play like that is etitled to the leather britches and emo strap... juts saying. ;-)
It’s not really an emo strap lol, it was designed and gifted to Eric by Gianni Versace. The pants are inexcusable however!
THATS actually me in a hat....
Two dislikes. What do these geniuses know that we don't?
Tim Renwick on the guitar I think. Amazing 👏
The show was beyond sold out and @8:00 he walked around the back of the stage and played for the people in the crap seats.
I was there. Front row, right in front of him.
At the time he said also, that the volume was a problem as both he and Ginger (and maybe Jack, too) have bad problems with their hearing´.
Some of the intro has some peter green in it :)
I think the intro is «Poor black mattie»
I dont know man, But that pickup/guitar/amp combination sounds better than his early cream sounds..
Didn't he use the Marshall amps for his Leslie speakers?
No. Is not a cigarette....
But he's got, and gods make a impossible apears easy!
In porps. God bless all.
TONE
Sound like a mixture of Stevie ray and peter green
I have never seen him with a hat on EVER. I wonder if it was a UCONN hat???
Where IS Hartford?..
In Connecticut
who is in his band for this?
Nathan East, Greg Phillinganes, Phil Palmer, Tessa Niles, Katie Kissoon and Steve Ferrone if i remember correctly
I believe he could change his guitar for ThE one Phil palmer IS using
Definately superior guitarist to Eddie or Jimmy and still better than Mr. Hendrix, they were all great but Clapton is the true Guitar God.
Love the audience just losing all sense of tempo from mere excitement :)
what's a cig??
its smoke from the fret board, hahaha. just kidding. yeah its a cig
this cigaret is so freaki'n cool, now he dont do this.
Lol, strawer, I don't think specialagentslowhand meant literally walking in circles around people while playing...
Cigarette ofcf xD
thats not smoke from a cigarette
A hat! That's rare, lol, great stuff but still prefer the faster cream version.
really?
As a huge EC fan, I find this rather boring. The intro was ZZ Top-lite and I've never enjoyed the mid-tempo version of Crossroads. It's in the set as a crowd pleaser, but it lacks any real urgency or passion. Clapton obviously flavours the solos with some very tasty playing, but I'd rather hear it in something he's feeling. Compare this dull affair with anything he plays during the live shows supporting From the Cradle - he's on fire!
