I can't believe how often this video gets content blocked. I guess this 17 year old video must just be destroying Janne Da Arc's record label's profit.
A truly impressive video! Well cut from one combo set to the next plus good choice in music. I have to say that I've never been able to get more than a 15 hit combo running in the arcade (probably because I was being careful not drop my cigarette). congrats worthy of a five star rating from me.
The group called "Type-Moon" made both Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night. (they are originally visual novels and are adopted to anime's as they gained quite popularity) So the two do have some resemblances and similarities.
Awesome music from Janne da Arc on this one. Many combo videos or gaming videos overall tend to have crap music to them, but this was to my liking :P Oh yeah, and Melty Blood is awesome :D
He does. The line is something like: まちがったマスターベーション - Machigatta masutaabeeshon. Machigatta is past tense of machigai, which means mistake, so it would mean he made a mistake, or mistook. So the whole line is something like: Mistaken/Mistook/Wrong Masturbation. When looking at it, taken out of context it sounds plain weird, but oh well, it's song lyrics, they aren't well-known to make sense.
Oh man, I remember the React times when damage was so high in the game, and you otg characters off the ground into another air combo. Good times, good times.
@ocping the combos aren't really that long though. This is just showing what's possible in best case scenarios. With a few exceptions they are very situational.
Melty Blood is actually a fighter sequel to an Hentai Game called 'Tsukihime'. The anime is based off of this Hentai Game. It would make sense if this was partially the reason for it not coming to the US.
excellent video, i don't like too much combo videos cause it is a lot of FALSE fighting skills, but i see you really know how to play a real combat. I really liked it...
oh and for bonus colors its outfit 5 to 8 neco arc will come out saying something with bonus colors thats it right there though you cant see them but its the other colors
Melty Blood won the Players Choice poll for the Evo 2010 tournament, and BlazBlue was dropped from the lineup in favor of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the PlayStation 3.
I'm not home either :P Won't be there in a long time, because I just moved into a new city (college). Test fight like that will have to wait, but I really like playing as Riesbyfe and Michael (long-haired dude looks like me). Also, I still like Guilty Gear more because of reeeeally hard combos on some characters. I hope we'll play sometimes in the future :)
mhmm well the other characters that u don't see in the tsukhime anime is from "Kagetsu Tohya" and from the game melty blood. IT does have a story in it, not just all fighting.
@evelfresh It's import only. Weird to say, since the anime tsukihime (same thing more or less) did get a state side release. Sucks that it isn't the other way around. Best to check online shops for imports.
@Raylord2309 ahhhhm, I know how they change the characters but Sion has an "etherlite ground" in this video but in the latest patch of MBRA, the etherlite ground is gone...
Anyway, nice chains, even tho I'm mainly playing with Vermilion Akiha, and she's only character I can combo with at melty blood. I'll give this video a 5v5 and also a notice that my previous comment was directed to Zolrak666 but somehow it didn't count as reply :)
In order: -Tsukihime (Visual Novel) -Kagetsu Tohya (Tsukihime sequel, Visual Novel) -Melty Blood (fighting game based on Tsukihime, sequel to*) It the same people that did Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel. Tsukihime anime ("Shingetsutan Tsukihime") is based on the Tsukihime Visual Novel and Melty Blood is in a way a sequel to Tsukihime Visual Novel (in the story mode of Melty Blood, it half Visual Novel, half fighting game). PS: The Tsukihime anime "Shingetsutan Tsukihime" is bad.
Dude, SF2 is the opposite of cult. Cult is something that never really got big. SF2 was fucking huge. SF2 introduced the world to combos. It was the first game to feature a string of moves and canceling the animation of one move into another. Granted, the string was only 2 - 3 moves long (Although really good players could string more than 7 moves together), but still, before SF2 there were no combos. The point is, EVERY fighting game is influenced by SF2. You can't say that about MB.
I'm not going to "tell" you. Instead, I'm going to ask you to use your eyes, and look about 5 posts down, at the post by Dajago. I realize that it might take effort, but the name of the song, as well as the singer, is in that post, so you might want to take a look.
I hope they have Melty Blood at PersaCon this year. I want to try it again. I was pwnt when I played it my first year. Maybe I'll pick a character that is good for beginners this time? XD
School girl/boy = Akiha/Satsuki/Shiki Chamber Maid = Kohaku/Hisui Vampire = Almost everyone Something weird and freaky = Robot Hisui? Person with hair in face and hands in pockets = ??? Ryu Clone = ??? Help me out here D:
from what ive seen, becasue ive seen it before, is that that girl with the purple dress and the one with the swords in her hand are froman anime that ive seen. its just after i stopped watching it, i forgot its name.
If you really don't think that Street Fighter 2 influenced Melty Blood and tons of other fighters, just think of one thing: 236 a.k.a. quarter circle forward a.k.a. down/down+forward/forward Before SF2, no fighting game ever even thought of combining motions with buttons to make a special attack. Now, EVERY fighting game does it. What has Melty Blood done to influence every other fighter in the genre?
+obiyofi I know that, I own Guilty Gear and UNIEL. Geez, I just mixed up their names when writing the comment. No need to insult me for that, their names are similar. At least I didn't say Jack-I or Dizzy.
I'm not saying that Melty Blood is full of "Death Combos," I'm just saying that combos in general kind of kill fighting games. Believe me, this is from someone who used to play Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Tekken 5 (Broken Steve says "Hi"; DR fixed it) religiously. Both those games have characters with either death combos and/or ridiculous combos that turned the game into "Who can land one or 2 combos first." If all you're doing is Hadouken spamming in SF, your opponent sucks.
add to the fact he also turned off Safe Fall mode for the dummy... which technically makes 90% of the combos undoable xD I'll give props to the fact the combos are insane but in the end its just a fancy show xD
OF COURSE,and it's easier to play(simple combos are quite doable even if you aren't very good at fightings),but it's not dumbed down,if you want to do something like in this video-it's actually becomes not that easy =)
Yeah, well I tried it. I like Tsukihime's story and It's next on list when i finish reading current visual novel. Compared to Guilty Gear, moves in MB are simple, but It's simple for both sides, so victory will be harder. Satisfied with this game. ^^
i found this game and song 16 years ago, and atfer 10+ years i finally found it again
damn time sure goes by pretty damn fast
I know exactly how you feel, the problem its they block this video really often and for longs amounts of time trough years.
One of the best fighting games ever. So underrated though!
+Metal4ever \33/ Its because of the anime style.
Impressive combo movie. I also enjoyed the song a lot too. Watching these combo movies makes me want to play this game more and more...
I can't believe how often this video gets content blocked. I guess this 17 year old video must just be destroying Janne Da Arc's record label's profit.
I know how you feel, that issue have me looking for the song for a while when i was younger.
WHO STILL WATCH THIS IN 2016??
damn this video is 10 years old already
A truly impressive video! Well cut from one combo set to the next plus good choice in music.

song is Vampire by jean du arc, cant remember if the nam eof the group is spelled right but the song is called vampire anyways
type-moon is ridiculously brilliant at making masterpieces
15 años buscando este video, y alfin pude volver a encontrarlo!!
Same, just happened to find it in my favorites just now! haha
Melty Blood is one of the good unknown fighting games that we have in our vaste world... if you have not played it, go on, try it
WOW!! thats so awesome! including the soundtrack! ;-)
i love the high quality of the song *_____*
its a visual novel, 2D fighting game for the PC.
There is also a MB on PS2 called Melty Blood: Act Cadenza.
satsuki became a vampire since the author made her a vampire in the tsukihime manga and play a great role in the melty blood manga...
love this game! just got it yesterday, but man it's awesome! great vid =D
He does. The line is something like: まちがったマスターベーション - Machigatta masutaabeeshon.
Machigatta is past tense of machigai, which means mistake, so it would mean he made a mistake, or mistook.

OMG i fucking love this game
and the song goes very well to this game
i love them both
As a Guilty Gear and BlazBlue fan, I am glad this game exists
the song Vampire by Janne Da Arc from their another story album.
Oh man, I remember the React times when damage was so high in the game, and you otg characters off the ground into another air combo. Good times, good times.
best combo vid on youtube IMO
thx man ^^
I found strange the way you answered me and I take a look and saw that it already asked several times
gomen!
I love Playing As Ciel. But it will take me YEARS before I can do that Combo that they showed near the end
@ocping
the combos aren't really that long though. This is just showing what's possible in best case scenarios. With a few exceptions they are very situational.
There's a PS2 version and a PC version; the most recent version is called Act Cadenza - the PC version is called Act Cadenza b2.
@PhinnyCobbler the best anime and best 2d beat em up ever!
the song is called Vampire from Janne Da Arc
The song is "VAMPIRE" by Janne da Arc.
Melty Blood is actually a fighter sequel to an Hentai Game called 'Tsukihime'. The anime is based off of this Hentai Game.
It would make sense if this was partially the reason for it not coming to the US.

@PhinnyCobbler
Its a game based on Melty Blood Manga
Its also related to Tsukihime
CMV stands for "commercial music video". A music video that is made to advertise something.
Have you tried looking onto limewire for the song? also if you liked that, I reccomend R-type and Red Zone (also done by janne Da arc :)
I'm not home either :P
Won't be there in a long time, because I just moved into a new city (college).
Test fight like that will have to wait, but I really like playing as Riesbyfe and Michael (long-haired dude looks like me).

Nice job on the video person!
awesome vid dude
I noticed that when I heard the song too, but i just ignored it.
Melty Blood is wayyy better than any street fighter game in my opinion >_>
thanks the video is very good .. and the song too *¬* ... and I could find xD
This is like.... the greatest anime game, ever.
mhmm well the other characters that u don't see in the tsukhime anime is from "Kagetsu Tohya" and from the game melty blood. IT does have a story in it, not just all fighting.
You are right he said this, is in the lyrics
Badass! Thanks a lot, now it's sitting on my mp3 player :)
@evelfresh
It's import only. Weird to say, since the anime tsukihime (same thing more or less) did get a state side release. Sucks that it isn't the other way around. Best to check online shops for imports.
I think it used to be an opening theme of D.Gray-Man
(AWESOME anime btw)
NICE!!.. very nice... i luv it... VERY NICE...
Liked for the song, Janne da Arc ftw!
Loving the song and the game.Arcueid and Nanaya Shiki FTFW!!!!!
He's talking about the lyrics, just listen at 2:32.
It sounds like "She's Emo".
PS2 and PC. Japanese only though. There's a brand new one called Melty Blood Actress Again coming out later this month.
@Zarusaken actually, you hear "master baition"
okay I found the name of the song It's "Vampire" by Janne Da Arc *whew took me a while hehe*
i agree kohaku is my fav. i think she's pretty cute
I saw a multi-game arcade cabinet online with Melty blood act cadenza, Blazblue, kof xxi, and some other game for 1000$ and I really want it.
Thank you! Respect what i play! Just As you say SF3S>all 2D fighters but that's just your opinion i guess. After all we all have different opinions.
Warakia is freakin insane lol he was my first character. His awsome and there are others i like to play as but im to lazy to say their names! ;)
Well then, let's see you upload something. I'm sure you can pull something superior to this; I mean, you sound SO confident.
this games been around longer than blazblue just tossing that in
the combos CAN compare, i have never saw anyone do a 64 hit combo with street fighter...
i love ths song forever! XD
I'm 99% sure the band that sings this song is Janne Da Arc...but iono what song...I'll get back to ya as soon as I find out >_>b
@MInuhanyouM
He did in the visual novel too. As well as Satsuki T.T
@Raylord2309 ahhhhm, I know how they change the characters but Sion has an "etherlite ground" in this video but in the latest patch of MBRA, the etherlite ground is gone...
That memorization.
@triggadigga
To be fair these are all characters from a series that already exists.
dude that song vampire is sooo hard to find where did you get it i have basically all the other songs by janne da arc but not that or wing
agreed. I own with him even on my keyboard.
THOSE COMBOS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO MASTER
The first Melty Blood (from 2002) and React (from 2004) were kinda broken so they're kinda easy to master... I guess...
@blcfist2 it's also SEVERAL years old. Blazblue wasn't even a thought yet when MB came out. MB came out 9 years ago dude.
Anyway, nice chains, even tho I'm mainly playing with Vermilion Akiha, and she's only character I can combo with at melty blood. I'll give this video a 5v5 and also a notice that my previous comment was directed to Zolrak666 but somehow it didn't count as reply :)

But those combos cannot be used now
vampire(track name) - Janne da Arc(artist) - another story (album name)

Hisui mecha is mindblowing!!

Awesome video!!! Can anyone tell me what version this is Act Cadenza or ReAct???
well you could always play the mugen version, if you dont know what mugen is look it up
Eltnam has pretty much the same attacks in Melty that she has in UNIEL.
[Edited to fix the Eltnam/Elphelt name swap mistake. Happy now obiyofi?]
+arminenreviews you mean Eltnum/Eltnam.
obiyofi Fuck.
+obiyofi I know that, I own Guilty Gear and UNIEL. Geez, I just mixed up their names when writing the comment. No need to insult me for that, their names are similar. At least I didn't say Jack-I or Dizzy.

Cool vid. ^^
Btw, what's the song's name?
it's on the album, "Another Story", shouldn't be difficult to find.
hey whats the name of this song??
it sounds so good
very good!!!!!!!!!!!
song???
please!!!
OF COURSE,and it's easier to play(simple combos are quite doable even if you aren't very good at fightings),but it's not dumbed down,if you want to do something like in this video-it's actually becomes not that easy =)
