James I started following you to learn about trainers a few months ago . I volunteer in a charity shop specialising in online sales for them , so I wanted to learn what brands are popular / still hold money 2nd hand - I regularly take dirty ones home clean them and sell them in our online store once done . Really valuing your knowledge and be grateful to learn more about cleaning when you get chance
I’m glad I’m not the only one that has had a shocking start to the week! 😂 completely agree that eBay needs to start supporting their sellers more, I had two weeks recently or frustrating returns, roughly £400 worth 😂 all stupid reason, all accepted by eBay all return postages paid out my own pocket. Re listed the lot when they return and all resold and all positive feedback from the next sellers! It’s crazy! 😂😂 it’s must say though, very refreshing that I’m not the only one that has to deal with this! Feel for you mate 🤙
Had one recently, claiming a fake shirt due to the sizing being different from a shirt he already had.. report and block user! Keep your head up, online retail sales is a rollercoaster.
24 years into selling on eBay I feel your pain. Most weeks I think about chucking it in but carry on anyway. I hope one day I can walk away and find another income which doesn't involve with dealing with the occasional 'sorts' you get on there. I'm always helpful, open and honest and yet the vitriol some people choose to throw back is staggering.
Unfortunately it’s just dealing with the public. If only we were all of the same honest mind set, everyday would be a breeze. It’s annoying but keeps us on our toes as sellers!
youtube told me i would find pokemon base set binders and make loads of dough! best iv done is a 5x on a buzz lightyear and i had a woman return a coffeemaker as broken that i swear she swapped 😂 always learning though. now i make a note of serial numbers before selling. big up jammy enjoy your weekend hunting! 🍄
Newish to flipping and after 40 or so sales had my first spurious return. Claims item is fake or not as described when clearly it just doesn't fit and he's bought wrong thing (right fitting rugby pro fit shirt as opposed to normal replica) but as I didn't overly specify it's a tight fit I guess eBay would favour customer so just sucking up cost of return. Very annoying though. Specially as his first message was accusing me of selling shonky goods (I really don't)
What you’re wanting to do with Vinted (have a pro account separate from your personal) is exactly how it’s set up to work - just log out of your personal and sign up for a new pro account. It’s the only way you’re allowed to have 2 Vinted accounts
6:07 Ebay has been poor for me since the free listings for private sellers, I think yesterday I had only sold 4 items for the week. Getting alot of silly offers on my items only for like over 50% off what I'm asking!!!!
Report buyer, then deduct up to 50%. Buyer gets reduced refund. If buyer appeals (they will), ebay refunds them the remaining 50% with no cost to you and blocks their feedback. You just lose some or all of the outgoing postage. Then sell the goods again. Overall you should make a profit (perhaps even greater profit overall).
I sell on Vinted now. I was getting so sick of no support from eBay customer service. Plus my sales had dropped off. It was just so ridiculous. But if you do something wrong you get your backside kicked. Plus the fraud was getting out of control. And the arguing with eBay was just getting me down.
When you get to refund page make a deduction for postage as the reason was incorrect. That's what I do and never have issues with not giving full refunds. Unless they are warranted of course. I've had bits missing on return and searched for cheapest replacement and refunded that amount less.
Always enjoy your videos but enjoyed the transparency of this one as I think people can see this as the dream job without any flaws, but that's just not the case (said as someone who has been full time on eBay for the past 6 years!). False return reasons are always very annoying but assuming they don't also leave a negative it's no different to a normal return. If you're a Top Rated Seller you can just go on 'Report A Problem' in the return request after you've refunded it and select 'don't agree with return reason'; explain the issue then they should credit back the label cost on next invoice. I think they've expanded that even if you're not TRS but not sure. I'd like to think they suspend accounts abusing the system but I doubt it happens much. Unfair negative feedback on the other hand are impossible to get rid of these days, no matter how unjustified. A customer that bought some shoes that didn't fit returned them for a refund then left a sad face negative for me. eBay wouldn't remove because it's 'their opinion' and doesn't violate policies. Thankfully most customers aren't that incompetent but still. Painful!
Thanks. That is exactly what I did in the end. Agree completely with the unfairness of ‘buyers opinion’ especially something as silly as a sad face emoji as a negative review. Unfair!
Completely agree, had a request and threatened with a negative review if the item is not fully refunded. The item was already used and the buyer claims it doesn't work after 3/4 days
That’s actually quite good if they threatened with a negative, as ebay see that as feedback extortion and will easily remove it 👍🏼 Still a pain to deal with though!
I think the current economic situation is causing lots of buyer remorse. Had a return for the back of a sweater being slightly longer than the front 🙄. Unfortunately, because buyers can force Ebay to force you to pay for shipping, it seems it's easier to offer free returns for this reason. I'm convinced the "report a buyer" does nothing, and Ebay put it there to make you feel like they've done something about it. The same with their "request feedback removal" which they always refuse. Recently had negative feedback effectively reviewing the item - they complained the shirt made them look like Harry Hill 🙄
Do find ebay a bit stressful sometimes. You just don't know who you are dealing with. Some want to send you hundreds of messages, some want to return something for a strange reason
just convert your account to pro is the easiest way then open a new account for buying that's what I did and they never asked for any of that stuff other sellers where saying they where asking for
Had my first encounter of this yesterday after 7 months or so of selling, offered a partial return to save the hassle of shipping back and getting it listed again
I’ve never used any leather cream like that, that’s so satisfying to watch I’m going to have to get some now 😂 you should hook up with timberland to get your free samples 😜
You are lucky they didn't cut or damage the shoe before taking a photo. Sorry to hear there are people like these buying from eBay sellers. Hope it works out for you.
EBay for a buyer are impossible to contact when you have an issue that doesn’t come under one of their ‘titles’. Evri are completely useless as a carrier, either really slow or you don’t even receive the item! My latest issue, purchased a golf club, somehow Evri have buggered up the label so I receive 8 days later a set of kiddies pyjamas but because Evri delivered it my account says the golf club was delivered. Then trying to contact eBay and you can’t phone anyone and there’s no title to put this under, bloody useless.I’m done with eBay!
Totally 👍 agree i have sent many feedback too ebay ref about this many buyers try and pull a fast one and ref ebay staff coming back too you is a joke reply should be faster for sellers - i would just block them from your shop
J can you do a video on these stupid new EU ebay rules coming into place on 13th December and if there's any way round it? I don't want to spent 20 mins on each listing tracking down the original manufacturers safety representatives address 😢 not sure if turning off GSP fixes it or what. Another blow to the genuine registered eBay business sellers that want to pay their taxes etc.
I would but I don’t pay attention to that stuff, I know I should, but I’ll just wait till the day before it kicks in and finally take some notice/make the changes that need to be done. Not my place to be saying what people should do, as I don’t have the knowledge.
Hi James, been watching your vids for a few months now and you have inspired me to buy and resell trainers as a hobby to earn a few extra pounds in between my full time job. Keep your vids coming cause I am learning a lot from you and appreciate the time you put into your uploads! Got a question I hope you may be able to answer?… I have a pair of Converse Dr Romanelli X “Born in the USA” collection which I believe only has to styles, one style is the all black flag and the one I’ve got which is the red, white and blue flag ones. Can only find a couple of articles online of when they were released in 2010 but can’t find anywhere that’s selling them nor any solds? Could these be rare at all? Any info would be much appreciated
Hi, appreciate you watching! Personally I’ve not heard of them, if there isn’t much online, then unfortunately probably not that rare or special. Maybe aim for standard converse pricing £30-40. However I could be wrong, so maybe aim high and sit on them for a while
Cheers for getting back to me James! No bother I will keep looking into them and try find something out about them. I’ve put them in an auction with a reserve to see what people think about them whilst I gather more info. Not easy to price up trainers when you got nothing to go on lol. Looking forward to your next vid pal 😃
buyer abuse of that policy is a joke, had so many buyers lie to just force the return through. Reports do absolutely nothing. If your selling level can drop below standard because of a fraudulent return, which i had to write about 8 emails to ebay, eventually get a particular case removed from my level, buyer levels should also be a 'thing'. Once ebay removed negative feedback for buyers, it killed any sort of responsibility or ownership of a buyers actions. fyi you can have separate vinted accounts.

I feel for you Jamie. I've done ebay as part of my job for over 15 years and the unfairness from eBay and the idiot buyers I have gone through is unbelievable, I always try my best in an unfair return but fully expect ebay to side with the buyer, but the other week a shirt got returned to me and it stunk of dioderant and had food on the front so I put there was a problem with the item and explained, ebay Sided with me because the buyer had history of this, overall ebay works but there are lots of idiots and ebay is unfair, I guess we just have to make as much as possible to compensate 😊
Exactly, just got to see it as a numbers game and hope we get more positives than the negatives, which of course is always the case. But the bad ones hurt sometimes!
This has got to be one of eBay’s biggest flaws. They want you to report the buyer but that does nothing for the seller only benefits eBay. Enjoy the sales but never be too complacent because at any point a buyer can exploits eBay’s money back guarantee
I finally managed to get rid of some negative feedback from a fraudulent transaction from two months ago, I kept on at eBay & they finally removed it. I've had 3 fraudulent returns since that email myself, where is this dedicated helpline!
Glad they sorted it in the end, I usually be up after a few tries. You can request a call from eBay on the help section, if you do get through, Ireland call centre are the best for helping as they actually sort the issue and understand the frustration.
Love your vids Jammy. I've got into reselling on eBay having learned loads from you. Question is, couldn't this person just have said the size was wrong and got a normal return and refund? Cheers
That’s what the buyer should have done, he’s abused the policy by saying there is an issue with an almost new pair of shoes, in order to get a free return. I should have been clearer, but my point is eBay not backing us sellers properly when this happens.
The people doing the scam returns etc, they're probably people that watch you. Trying to sabotage your sales on purpose. I hope you block the buyers afterwards.
Haha maybe, although seems a lot of hassle for them, as it’s an inconvenience for me at the time, but I know eBay will see the light in the end and side with me in these types of cases - only damaging their accounts.
Would you rather pay return postage yourself and get the shoes back in one piece so you can sell again…. Or the buyer purposely damage’s them to get free return postage. As that has happened to me when I challenged a buyer making a false return reason 😡
Sorry that’s happened, I didn’t challenge the buyer, just let them send it and so be it. But crap that that’s happened. Hopefully I can re sell the shoes at the end of this and the buyer hasn’t damaged them… 😬
Looking solely from the pic you showed, the blue insole doesn't seem to match the color of the shoe and removable insoles are not that common so the buyer may have just took his foot out and the insole came out too making the buyer think its broken. I get there are scammers and chancers but this could literally just be a misunderstanding of the product. I get its frustrating but your business is based on pictures. Ebay does collect data from buyers that repeatedly return items and take actions siding with the seller when reported so they do do something but they also understand mistakes are made and banning someone for their first return request would hurt ebay long term as why would anyone buy from ebay if the return process is not guaranteed as stated.
Unfortunately this buyer knew exactly what they were doing, I checked their feedback and they did the exact same thing to another seller (with the insoles again! - check my insta as it’s on there). Also in my listings I include pictures of the insoles outside of the shoes, to show exact condition, no toe print etc. Which shows they’re removable. Further than that, as soon as they opened the request, I messaged them explaining about the insoles, and they blanked me and proceeded to post the shoes today with their free label. Definitely a scammer that just bought the wrong size shoe and abused the system.
I’ve completely stopped using eBay. They don’t care about their clients on their platform at all, their customer care is abhorrent. I just steer clear.

Yh I agree with u there but least dey don’t allow ppl to rob u further more leave u out of pocket and gain from it
Would you rather pay return postage yourself and get the shoes back in one piece so you can sell again…. Or the buyer purposely damage’s them to get free return postage.
As that has happened to me when I challenged a buyer making a false return reason 😡
Sorry that’s happened, I didn’t challenge the buyer, just let them send it and so be it. But crap that that’s happened. Hopefully I can re sell the shoes at the end of this and the buyer hasn’t damaged them… 😬
I reported a buyer & eBay sorted it in my favour within 5 days
Nice! I reported one about 3 weeks back and heard nothing since.
Save the buyers I.d. Then go onto their account in a week or so and see what they’re selling and report them as fakes😊
😂 great idea!
Fair enough 👍🏼
Go jammy you rant boy. Proud of you young jedi 😂😂
Stop trying to latch on "Real" Resellers go back to your hole.

I've just had to refund a £100 bread maker because of a dent. It never ends.
😤 ridiculous!
But is it dented??
It seems the ai now in control is getting abused its flawed
Could it possibly be that the buyer didn’t have a clue that the insoles are supposed to be loose? I wouldn’t know that because I don’t buy them.
Nope, clearly abusing the policy. He’s done this before, as per a recent feedback from another seller, he did the same thing.
Also I’ve messaged explaining this about the insoles and he hasn’t responded. He’s just playing the system, unfortunately
@@JammyDodgerFlips then I totally understand your frustration and anger. It’s wrong that eBay let the same person do this over and over. Sorry
Hi Jamie you be interested in buying some trainers and kids trainers ?
Hi, feel free to drop me a message on insta with some pictures of what you have. Thanks ☺️
Spoiling us with content!
I never let you guys know my next move 👀 might take 6 months off now 😂
I rely on your videos to help run my eBay 🤣 don’t do my like that
Ebay are useless. I hate the way they refund a buyer, when they return an item without the seller checking it first.
Yeah I don’t like the fact we only have a small amount of time to check over the item. Over the buyer having like 3 weeks to ship it back…
Block her so she can’t buy from you again.
Ebay is bed new vinted 100% better
Facebook market place is far better. I never use ebay now.
Fair enough, for what I sell, it’ll be a struggle due to the small audience. EBay is worldwide shipping.
Stop moaning leave it to the pros dogger 🤣 - side note do you have a burner phone for vinted 👊
🤣 Will hook you up yeah 📲🤙🏼
