Beautiful home and wonderful backstory. Betsy was a pleasure to listen to. One of my favorite owners from this series. Seeing all the light flowing throughout made me happy - it imbued the space with positive energy/vibe.
2 episodes in a row of Paul Rudolph content! Delightful!!! 🤓 The additions are spectacular. Amazing compound. A couple of years ago, I had the privilege of photographing the only Rudolph house in RI, built in 1975. It's a pretty radical, wedgy design that is absolutely stunning.
Wow such a beautiful home.. I wont be able to get one like this in my lifetime but maybe another lifetime.. This open plan and the way light enters is so nice
That last sentence... I hope you will know as you look down upon them smiling. That being said, another amazing video and soundtrack to accompany it. This compound is simply breathtaking and I hope each time your children visit that they never lose the appreciation of being able to exist in such a space. Hat's off to Toshiko Mori who understood the assignment.
Beautiful, expensive to maintain, hard to insure, hard to heat or cool but somehow it's all worth it when you walk inside and feel at peace. I hope the family remains good stewards of that place because you can't build like that anymore at any price. Growing up on Siesta Key back in the 60's there were a lot of houses that perhaps weren't as significant as this one, but had the same feel.
Just rode down there today. Shocking how little beach is left, none at all along much of the road. It all felt very fragile, like the sea could take it as any moment.
The house welcomes the guests that are invited. Definitely monumental and you have at least 10% of the frontage I suppose there is a lane through the other residents of the compound. But two times the coastlines. How much $$$. The deep and expansive love the guardian has of this home is profound. To her, rest assured there will always be a steward that connects with the place as you do. How can one not.🔵

A reminder that great architecture requires great clients.
How wonderful to have the owner (guardian) of an architectural significant home who appreciates the creator's original concept.
love how throughout the video, the day passes as well from morning to night.

I could listen to her all day. What a beautiful story.
I know exactly where that house is from having taken many drives up and down Casey Key. Lovely. LOVELY!
So glad this home was found by these owners. The previous owners sound like philistines. They didn’t deserve this architectural gem.
Its a lovely house to live in 😊😊😊

I always thought wealthy people lacked good taste. I stand corrected.
Unwelcoming and totally devoid of any warmth inside, like it's dead.
