The current podcast-live-chat style he uses these days with his girlfriend and bro is great, but man do I MISS the days when Matthew was making these amazing, thought out & edited instructional videos. It’s a lot more work but man it is way memorable
About the hugging. There was a situation once. I meet this interesting woman, we talked for some time and drank tea and the I asked if I could hugg her. Neither of us pulled away for at least five minutes and it felt like we knew each other for 20+ years. Then we evantually stopped and looked into the face of a complete stranger. It was magical and I still have her in my head sometimes for this reason and other's.
This was hands down the best video ever!!! From the actors mouthing Matthew’s words, to so many gold texts to send, to flirting with the monkey!! 🙈 🙉 🙊!! Loved it and appreciate the time and effort you took to make this video. Thank you!!
These tips are great, but I can see it going horribly wrong. Awkward is my middle name, so I'd probably use them in all the wrong moments and the man would think I was mental. "You can't look at me that way"... he's not even looking at me. 😂
Thank you for making this for the women. I've been dating and the women I've encountered don't know how to flirt, but I'll flirt with them. They often pick up on what I'm doing and use it on me. But it's so masculine that it actually has the opposite effect and TURNS ME OFF (I know because they literally said the words, "I don't know how to flirt" to me)
Hey guys,by the second day of texting ask her out. Tell her"we should see if there's a spark". Keep it casual and make it proper. I know a cute little restaurant across from a museum. Find somewhere cute, nothing too big. You're looking for dates on the apps, not pen pals. Victory favors the bold!
Thank you so much! I’m a female and soooo bad at this I’ve dropped the ball countless times get in my head super shy and go blank 😢 the whole video is great loved the couples used love you w the monkey ❤
OMGSH this was EXACT question I had on my mind yesterday--took myself out and about in my little town for fun (farmer's market, two book stores, two cafes, library, outdoor bluegrass concert) and passed by many attractive young guys and froze every single time. Didn't even manage to make eye contact when passing (I always look too late??). Talked with a bunch of elderly ladies about goats and carrots, so it's not like I'm deadly shy. I just choke with guys my age. Trying to get braver. Can't wait to watch this!!
@squali1930 Not in the slightest. Got cornered by an old man in an antique store the other day who talked to me for 20 minutes... I joked with friends later that I wish guys decades younger would come up to me and talk about washboards and butter churns, but it just hasn't happened yet 🤣 But yeah, easy to talk to any guy that's out of my dating age range. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way!!
It takes two to create tension. Sometimes that guy can get defensive when I’ve tried to be playful. I’ve had to tone it down because sensitivity is set to high for many of us. I think this humor works on a certain demographic and not to all. So if this doesn’t work for you, it’s not all hopeless. There’s a pot for every lid.
It’s not sensitive; it’s about, what do women bring to a man’s life? And for me, it’s drama beyond anything I want. So I think about all the things that can go wrong if we make it to a date. So if a women is flirting, my mind starts going to what does she want from me? And I stop paying attention to flirting. 😂 the Metwo era really messed dating up. Like women getting half my stuff on fake dv. Or loss of job, I lose more things from the breakup then I would have if not dating at all. I have so many fake DV’s in my life. I avoid showing women I like them, it’s safer in long run.
@@thomashenshallhydraxis Well that makes sense. I rarely use dating apps so I can see why you’re trying to protect yourself. You’ve helped clear that issue up. I’m definitely low on drama and also try to steer clear from it when a guy just raises his voice or acts strange. I work in tech so some guys are just awkward around my flirts. I have to just be very polite and curt. Yeah so I think it still takes two to tango!
Dude I wouldn't take advice from that previous person, he's the last person you'd want to listen to based on that comment alone. Any man with that attitude towards women shouldn't be dating women at all until he sorts out his own misogyny.
MATTHEW CAN YOU PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON HOW TO FIX IT AFTER WE'VE BEEN TOO HONEST AND NOT FLIRTY? Like, if we said we liked a guy and he rejected us and now we need our confidence back, lol.
@nuwanda Either let him go or just say a simple hello next time. Been there and done that. I think the right guy will like you if you have been too honest and find it quirky. I would take it as a lesson learned and play coy with the next one. You don’t need a guy for confidence. You already have it. When you play it calm and cool, that’s an attractive quality ❤
Nuwanda I just got out of a long toxic relationship. What I learned is rejection protects me from making bad decisions and is actually a very responsible thing the other person could do. Thank him for not wasting your time and stringing you along just to realize he's still not interested. Accept rejection, it nature's way of keeping you out of trouble.
Oh wow. I’m in this stage of flirting right now. Like, otherwise I haven’t been interested in anyone for the past 4 years. So, no pressure or anything :) But yeah.. the problem is that this guy is in a work environment and I don’t want to make a fool of myself. But actually my strategy is working. It just took a few smiles for encouragement and not trying much at all. It worked :) I didn’t think it would because I’m not really doing anything.
Well at least youre prepared... Im watching this AFTER visiting my crush's house and nothing happened 😢... The problem is that we have a greattt friendship and im so scared to destroy this
“He knows” “We don’t know” Truer words have never been spoken. You don’t need to hit us over the head with a sledgehammer, but perhaps a gentle tap with it
I'm happily married and totally not looking for anything else romantically but loved this video... so entertaining... the scenes with the monkey are HILARIOUS! WAY TO GO, Matthew Hussey. You can sell your dating knowledge to people who aren't even looking to date! :P
Make sure she falls in love with your lifestyle, not necessarily just with your looks, because your lifestyle is part of your charisma, looks may change over time, but charisma rarely changes, good lifestyle rarely changes for worse. but looks may change for better if you exercise and makes you look healthy etc For example, if you are a kind guy who likes people and humor and helps people, and has a bunch of friends, It's called lifestyle, you share advice about sports, music arts, and culture with friends. Charisma is part of lifestyle and lifestyle is part of charisma. She falls in love with it much more than just with looks. If she sees he helps his friend or colleague with something, she sees his priorities. The spiritual priorities and his humility, which is an attractive thing. Maybe therefore long-term relationship works with people who work in the same industry, for example, music, playing violin or instrument. So she feels safe because all the people colleagues around him feel safe, and she will feel safe with all those people. For example musicians, and athletes. Except if she is the kind of person who wants to live in isolation from people or doesn't have time for them.
Nothing is more frustrating when you are hitting it off with a man on a dating app and you suggest giving him your phone number but he wants to chat on what’s up instead.
When you do meditation, you practice breathing, but after the time, the breath will start breathing you. If you start doing a sport, or exercise after a time you don't exercise the sport, but the sport is exercising you. The same is with joy or humor, or dancing... you are not dancing the dance is dancing you. The same is true with love, after you find love, everything seems easy, you don´t have to chase the love anymore the love as a feeling start to breathe you, the love starts to chase you. It becomes natural because of your lifestyle.
12:19 I did exactly that on a date (without even watching this video lmao) and we had the most charming moments together because he keeps teasing me throughout the date every times he happened to keep staring at me unconsciously .... then he covered his eyes with his hat saying "Oh no, I can't look at you" and all I see his his lips smiling big as he said so.
Yes!! Holy lord... yes This opened my eyes a little bit. I'm a man and the few girls I've been really attracted to where able to show signs of interest and some even in a playful fun way.
Ladies do not be afraid to be yourself don't be afraid to text or call someone don't be aloof don't ignore them. If they don't appreciate your attention and your affections and return them to you then you are wasting your time. If one or both people are playing games you will both lose.
Not having any interest in a romantic relationship is what I'm starting to lean towards now.... the guys in my area just have no interest in putting themselves out there, and quite frankly, I feel like I could learn a thing or two by bachelors who aren't jerks.
Matthew, I am a *Straight man* and when you said "you can't look at me like that" I hooted a lil bit. That shit would be so good. My response? "Or else what?" or "whatcha gonna do bout it?"

i think that flirting can be a great way of building rapport with anyone, or connecting fast, making situations more fun. there are lots of people who use flirting in their interactions with most people; it’s a form of play. it can be done in a way that doesn’t need to go any further than flirting, and attraction is not necessary! it’s just important for people who do this naturally or who choose to interact with the world this way to be aware that there are other people out there who don’t understand it. they can read into it and end up with attraction themselves and believe it to be mutual, or they can read it as a indication of intent to seduce or as purely sexual. even the word “flirting” can be extremely triggering for people because they consider all flirting to inherently signify sexual interest and an intentional goal of taking action on that sexual interest. i fully disagree with that perspective on flirting but people who feel this way can put others into conflicts or different situations when the flirting was actually quite innocent, platonic, or friendly.

This content quality from the insightful advice to the superb editing/filming is outstanding! Great video.

i think that flirting can be a great way of building rapport with anyone, or connecting fast, making situations more fun. there are lots of people who use flirting in their interactions with most people; it’s a form of play. it can be done in a way that doesn’t need to go any further than flirting, and attraction is not necessary! it’s just important for people who do this naturally or who choose to interact with the world this way to be aware that there are other people out there who don’t understand it. they can read into it and end up with attraction themselves and believe it to be mutual, or they can read it as a indication of intent to seduce or as purely sexual. even the word “flirting” can be extremely triggering for people because they consider all flirting to inherently signify sexual interest and an intentional goal of taking action on that sexual interest. i fully disagree with that perspective on flirting but people who feel this way can put others into conflicts or different situations when the flirting was actually quite innocent, platonic, or friendly.
I try to create chemistry, but I always say something to make it awkward, so I stopped and just learned to just not even bother.
