I mean yeah the show was the result of the US government wanting to increase patriotism, but it's more than that. Instead of just doing a show about the revolution to answer the government's demand, they were like "Okay...we'll do it, but we're gonna be honest about it". The show made clear that Native Americans suffered, and that slavery was very much a problem (with Ben Franklin saying that it will take another war to end it). In fact, parents hated the show by calling it "anti-American" because they didn't like the fact it was HONEST about the revolution...yeah, it's not anti-American to be aware of facts. PBS was in dire need of a history show and this show was the perfect choice, not to mention the theme song of course slaps so hard.
@@NicheNostalgia De nada! I'm on the left so if anything, the theme song inspires me to keep pushing for change. I rarely, if ever, got to see full episodes because timing, but there's two episodes I remember pieces of pretty clearly: the one where they were talking about how serious measles and smallpox were (and iirc one of the main trio came down with one of them), and one where the blond kid was very excited about some guy getting tarred and feathered only for the episode to show him very shaken up by what little of it he witnessed, and the dude who was tarred and feathered in absolute agony while recovering. Early 2000s PBS: where Redwall teaches you about fictional war crimes and Liberty's Kids teaches you about very, very real ones. You know, for kids!
well if america didn't exist until 1776 and in 1773 britain had the smale laws than america because it was the same country then why would slavery be dying in britainw e even thought them during the civil war
I still love and watch this show and neither of our faces aged. We all still look like we did during the show’s original airing. I look like a 10 to 12-year-old, Sarah looks 12 to 14, James looks 14 to 16, and Henri looks 8 to 10.
That specific kind of show with that animation style from that time period just hits the spot for us early 2000’s kids doesn’t it LOL Also would the 4Kids One Piece dub technically be included in that category? Lol
Fun fact: The screech that people think is from a Bald eagle because of its presence in movies...is actually a red-tailed hawk! Bald eagles are powerful birds (Bald eagles can achieve 30 mph using powerful wing-beats and even faster when diving at up to 100 mph), but they actually make pretty weak-sounding calls! Though they were known among North America’s Indigenous peoples, the first Red-tailed Hawks studied by Western scientists were identified in Jamaica in 1781 and named accordingly: Buteo jamaicensis. Their other namesake is their characteristic reddish-brown tail feathers, a trait shared by many of these hawks. Red-tails are among the largest Buteo hawks in North America, second only to the Ferruginous Hawk. They’re built to soar, with wingspans that average a little over four feet. Females are typically much larger than males, which is common among raptors. In flight, they can spy a mouse on the ground from 100 feet in the air! Red-tailed Hawks are formidable hunters. They scan the ground by soaring in wide circles or by perching on a tree or telephone pole. Then, they snatch their prey, usually a rodent or other small mammal. But sometimes a snake or another bird, with talons up to 1.33 inches long.
Me and my brother had these episodes on DVD. We usually only ever started them to mute the volume and dub over the characters ourselves and speak absolute nonsense. It wasn't cohesive but for 9 year old me, it was peak comedy!

It's too bad that he died last year. I am watching a new episode of the iCarly reboot as I type this episode just to see how close they are. Sarah is the only one in the group who has a birthday in the second half of the year. If only her birthday was on April 30 instead of November 30, huh?
