Whenever you hear people insult british people for thier bland food, remember that the last time they wanted spices, the entire concept of colonialism started.
Ya know why I Love this cartoon?? Because it’s a beautiful musical animation that shows why it should always be a good fun cartoon lesson wouldn’t you agree???
Hey, I love this show too, but, I genuinely feel that, while this show centered itself on education, the handful of Animaniacs edutainment songs were better. Nothing from Histeria has me singing it years later, like Yakko's world, etc.
0:41,I can see this takes place in a world where Anatolia and Thrace are connected,England and Ireland doesn’t exist, the Black Sea is half the size is in real life, the Crimean peninsula is gone,Greece is one landmass, the Adriatic Sea is a piece of land connecting Italy and Croatia, and nova zembla doesn’t exist.
1:19 - 1:23 I think I've heard that snippet of music somewhere else before. Anyone recognize it? EDIT: Now that I'm really thinking about it, I'm sure almost sure this music is from something else . . . Is it just me, or does anyone feel the same way?
darkblood626 If it helps, I've discovered that it's a mid-to-late nineties showtunes, probably Broadway, and a Sinatra remix/remake etc. :D PS: I'm sorry. I really am. :(
Sorry for the late response. I've heard Scarborough Fair before, and I'm just not 100% sure that it's what I'm looking for. For some reason, I associate it with the 90's. I also feel as though it's a parody or "lyrical adaptation" or something of the sort, and it's definitely related, but not quite Scarborough Fair. I appreciate the help and input though.
0:38 altought it's a good reference, Colombus ship wasn't named "Nina" was named "Niña" whit a simbol upper the n, and it wasn't only "Niña" was "La Niña" what means child in English
Some of the spices they listed are actually herbs. If a LEAF of a plant provides flavor to a food, it's an herb. Salt is also a mineral, and garlic..... it's related to onions and leeks so a vegetable? Never really thought about it.
0:55,ok now the Siwa peninsula doesn’t exist, the katchuta peninsula and Japan are connected,Cyrus doesn’t exist,Denmark doesn’t exist, and the indo-Chinese peninsula as i call it just got larger.
Same voice actress: Cree Summer. Ironically she also plays a voice part in Horrible Histories, another historical series with humor thrown in (im talking about the short lived animated one made 10+ years ago now, not the recent live action with the puppet rat).
Actually the story of Columbus discovering America is false, he never even set foot on America, but instead he found some islands that were below it and South America.
I never liked this show as a kid because I couldn't understand a word they were saying. If only they had given us subtitles back then I would have loved it.
[Edited] I found out this video has three wrong things First Singapore was also a trade port for spices and stuff Second The Vikings were the first to discover american Third Columbus didn't wanted pepper but Mass masscare the natives there inculding stealing gold , people and their stuff
Fungai Mudimu She did have a clip of her own. Can't seem to find the clip, so I'm going by memory here. She said some sort of catchphrase a long the lines of "...and that's why you do this."
1:18- And the gothic "barbarians" who also demanded Rome for Pepper as part of their demand. But they decided to burn it down when they failed their payment.
Well, if Attila went to war because he wanted pepper on his food, that guy Gengis Khan must have been REALLY hungry.
Nazis wanted pepper on their food too
The Brits must've really wanted spice...and tea
Bro napolean was super hungy 😳😳😳
ok maybe theres spice in the skulls everyone must kill 25 people
Sorry but Genghis and the nazis wants the world more than food

Thats a big fact
Then you got Jim Cummings as Atilla the Hun. The WB toons were a murderer’s row of the voice acting mafia

And absolutely nothing else.

Neat.

That moment when the plot of Sly Cooper 2 actually had some historical precedence and wasn't just a way to sneak drug trafficking into it.
Yo fellow sly fan!
This made learning world history fun
That's so true
History: tons of diffrent things
Hysteria: SPICES
Brits colonized the world for spices
Also brits:plain toast and beans

Why is this song so catchy?
Not complaining though :D
Thanks to some people who wanted spices we got a world power

It was more about the fact that adding spices prevented food from spoiling than improving the taste but, I suppose it's just a kids show, so whatever.
yeah that's a myth, nobody ate rotten food hiding the taste wouldn't make you less sick
@@hazzmati Well taste was definitely a part of it. Salt helped with preservation, but pepper doesn't really. The were both aspects.
I shall commit an act of necromancy and proclaim that it would've been cheaper to buy fresh meat than use spices to save rotten food.
