The distribution of music in the 80s was horrendous. This song should have been the No 1 metal anthem of 1985, but I have only just heard about it in 2020, and that's because of youtube !
yup..i would have never known about this badass song in the 80s if not for watching the Chris Penn movie Wild Life. Couldnt believe this song wasn't constantly on radio metal shows we listened to every week...like Metal Shop..House of Hair....
@@ddown71 Yep. I'd never even heard the whole song until RUclips. The other day something made me think about this song, but I had to google the movie soundtrack to figure out what it was.

June 24th 2023, this is the day I found this song. I have had this song in my head for damned near 40 years now. Growing up a metal head in the 80's I first heard this song playing in a soundtrack in a movie. I recall it was some coming of age flick and "to the ray-D-O" in the lyrics, that was all I had to go on. You would not believe how many obscure metal bands of the 80's I have listened through over the years trying to solve the provenance of this song. I can now go to my death with a sense of completion.
Its crazy, been banging my head since mid 80's.Never heard this until 2023 as well, and thats just bizarre to me.I also just discovered another by Maniac, called we curse at you.I discovered it in Nov.23.I cant get it out of my head.Sometimes i play it 2 or three times consecutively.Just cant believe i never came across it before.I may never have,if not for youtube.
What bothers me about the radio in the 80's was that bands like this never got any airtime. Everything was mainstream and if the band wasn't liked by the executives behind the desks they didn't give enough effort to advertise the music. Not that mainstream didn't have some good bands like this, but geez, this is the first time I've heard this band and I'm someone who grew up in the 80's.
+Scott D This was the song blaring in the background when the little fucker was working his num-chucks in his room in The Wild Life. OK Movie. Loved this song.
Can you name a time when there were so many excellent bands of almost every persuasion and style from blues, country, rock, jazz and acid rock evolving with artists injecting their own individuality, So Many that the radio stations and the media could only spotlight a few? We who lived through one of the "Golden Ages of Music" during the 60's through the 70's and 80's into the 90's can do so with enthusiasm, and Proof! Here is a perfect example of budding greatness in a band that I cannot even remember even through all the music that I immersed myself into and LIVED! So Far, Little I have heard can even approach the kind of Brilliance that became the backdrop of many of our lives. The messages then, were mostly positive, inspiring, love themed and these bands were TIGHT, many with people who really could play several different instruments, sing (Well!) and perform!!! What happened? What's with The messages of "all about me" and Sex along with the negativity of Hate and Confusion that seem to be becoming more and more predominant??!!! What about The Music?!
