My husband and I both got deer the week after I watched this! Now I have a big bowl of fat and can’t wait to make some soap! It’s in the freezer while I buy all of the other necessities! 🎉
Thank you for another wonderful video! No deer hunter friend yet sadly, but I'm working on it🤞🏼💪🥰. Eventually I'll hunt too but not yet. I just absolutely love your videos. Helps me keep learning while I work towards my dream!
Thank you so much for always being here and being the coolest, most supportive person 🥹💖 I started this channel because I remember before we were finally able to buy our place I was all about any blog or channels about homesteading. It really helped me keep my sanity and I learned a lot while waiting for my turn. Thank you so much 😭🌹
This is awesome in so many ways for me. Probably because we don’t have deer here. AT ALL! Will need to research this for other animals as fat source and give it a shot. Hopefully i’ll find some that don’t really like eating or doing anything else with it, so i can have some use for it.
Beef tallow is another popular option! I have attempted a rabbit tallow soap before but *I* messed up the lye ratio and it was too spicy. The next time I do it I’ll make sure I get it on video for the channel. ☺️ thank you so much!
The person we bought our homestead from owns a very large corporation in Kalispell. He paid (a lot) to have electricity dug and ran to our place. He thought he was going to live here a while, but plans change. Because of him we are on the grid! And since our electric company is member owned (Lincoln County Co-op) we only pay around $45 a month for our power! We have been as lucky as can be 🤩🤯💖
That’s up to you, if you wait it will last longer. If you’re excited to use it just pick one as your “sacrifice” bar and just accept it will melt away quicker. I waited on mine but it’s no big deal either way. 😁

Interesting, I've never thought of bathing myself with deer tallow as a cover scent
@@OldPecanHomestead I know I thought that was hecking really smart!. I'm taking notes that's for sure! 📝🧐🤓
Thank you! ☺️

@@CedarHillsHomestead thanks for the suggestion. Really do appreciate it. 👍
Will give it a shot with beef tallow.🙏
Great video! But I still wonder how you power your homestead. Since there's not much sunlight, solar panels aren't the best option.

Do I have to wait 2 weeks before using the soap?
