This repair looked hard but you did it elegantly like always. Also thanks for repairing my 1080ti, can't wait to pick it up from the post office tomorrow to test it out.
Man, you have some serious skills! When I saw the burned traces I thought this is the end of the story and for you this is a 10/6 difficulty level repair. Amazing! :)
Broken traces is not a bad thing. Bad is when you have a hole through the board. Depending on where it is, you can still make it work by switching off a number of vcore and sometimes memory phases if there is more then one.
What? This is definitely a 6/10 lol you've seen nothing yet - such as someone attempting a repair with an iron far too hot, on a through-hole chip...and lifting every single pad, trace and burning holes into the PCB! Needless to say i had to use that board (from a Philips CD-i) as donor parts.. I could have fixed the damage by soldering many small wires, but wasn't worth the effort lol i haven't thrown it away however, i don't do that. I have dead Radeon 9800 cards and Quadros and allsorts sat around so they don't go to landfill lol
Amazing video! Been looking forward to your next upload - thanks for the work you put in! I would love to see more streams, I know it is not so easy for you to do, but it was great to watch back.
Yet another GPU saved from the landfill. Really good job. One question. Why did the controller burn? Is it a bad part? A REALLY GOOD JOB AS ALLWAYS. Love the vid.
very good hands with the dremel! when soldering new mosfet is it preferable to apply solder to the board, or the mosfet? Or does it vary depending on situation? Thanks!
I was looking while you were working on the burnt away traces. When you told at first where the 12v was, I wish you could have pointed out where the 5v rail was. What I couldn't figure out is if the 1.8v rail was generated here or somewhere else. The pad you put underneath was what voltage and the traces you repaired to the left were 5v? But it was very difficult to see properly, I guess I will have to watch again several times to figure out exactly what is what under the regulator. I am a very old guy so please excuse me for asking dumb things.
Hi, Those steps are so tricky and need to be precise, you show such a masterwork that is difficult as a piece of cake! those skillful hands! Big thumbs up! Theodore did you use solder mask to attach the ripped part or was that some uv special epoxy? I ve used some epoxies and upon receiving hot air they will loose their bonding power to pcb.
Hello my friend I have a Zotac RTX 3070 Ti trinity Oc that has error 31 never seen that error any idea of what could be? Graphics Card show image than after like 30 seconds black screen and I noticed that PEX is missing and doesn’t work if I leave it like 2 days will work again for those 30 seconds only
With this description it is possible to have a faulty switching component such as a transistor for example or unstable solder joints under the processor
Maybe i´m the only that got a "Problem"with it....But PLZ move the Mouse if u Switch to the Microscope, in EVERY Video it´s in the middle of the Screen...A Big Thnx for ur Work and ur Vid´s..it´s Awesome..
Some shots from the microscope are of poor quality because without noticing I have reduced the brightness of the lighting. About the cursor I will correct it 😉
I appreciate your videos. One question I want done small repairs on GPus and i want to take a challenge to learn more how much is a good price to buy a dead 3090 to practice on and if I fix it i get to keep it
Thank you. There is no difficult repair. Difficulty is very relative to experience. More complicated devices are those that have previous repair attempts
Oh my... owo.. i thought that card is toast, but you just did the impossible. One question - My 5700xt reference gives black screen and crashes while playing games, even on heavily undervolt. Do you think it's the vram mosfets? pls answer bro.
@@KrisFixGermany Sorry for the bold question. I understand. I live in another country, i think I'm gonna send the card to you, cause you are the best I've seen so far.
Am I mistaken or do most of the failed high-end cards you receive come from Gigabyte? They seem to be built by the same people who built their power supplies.
Gigabyte have many cards on the market. Taking into account that more video cards are damaged due to human interference it can not be said that the Gigabyte cards are of worse quality than other manufacturers.
Hey Kris, do you (like other repair guys particularly in Russia) some kind of google drive share folder where i can find boardview for gigabyte 1080 ti Aorus 11GB ? Cant find one on line. All i find is gaming version but its not the same.

Outstanding job.
For most repair companies this graphic was doomed to go to trash.
Well done. 👌

It depends, but usually both
I love watching these types of videos... one thing though... that cursor for the microscope, it bothers me, is there any way to turn it off?

Conclusion: Don´t buy anything from Gigabyte :)
