I hope IK continues working on Modo Drum, because it's already becoming my top choice for a drum VST. Not everything is there (the cymbals and hi-hat need to be modeled, and maybe a sixth tom for MIDI would be nice), but its high points hit really hard.
Hmm... i wanna try it, but my issue is that despite the deep customization, it doesn't sound super real to me. It sounds to me like there are no round-robins. Which, i could be wrong, but I'm just not hearing it
Because they are using modal synthesis to source the sound there is no round robin. I do love these especially blended with a second kit or with parallel processing g. Thx for the comment
Velocity control existed before in Toontrack Drums namely superior drummer or easy drummer both offer many tweaking options. The sonics differences of MODO Drum is abviously the FX quality included. IKM have really developed nice set of FX and gear emulations; T-Racks comes to mind. Plus the mixBox Rack which is used in MODO Drum. Velocity control exists in Logic Pro x directly from the piano editor window which does the same thing. Native Instruments Kontakt series of drums like Abbey Road and Drum Lab include besides Velocity, Swing and tightness control the possibility to change from sixteenth feel to an eighth with delay between steps. It’s really humanising a robotic performance. There’s also the round robin to vary samples hits. Soon with MIDI 2 we will have even more options in meticulously defined velocity beyond existing range limited to 128 steps in MIDI 1. Cheers 🥂 and happy holidays 🎄

I agree. Modo Bass 2 did come out so it seems likely….🥁

Thanks for the feedback mate. Great stuff!
Can you choke cymbals on this? Most of them you cant and it's annoying
Seems like most kits have a "Choke function" but also have dedicated keys "Cymbal Chokes" as well. Cheers!
@@_TheModernCreative really? I can’t seem to find that anywhere 🤔
On the studio kit for example. D sharp3 hits the crash and F sharp three chokes it.
@@_TheModernCreative that’s great thank you so much. I’ve found it
I don’t get it, why not used the grooves that comes with it?
Thx for the feedback mate. Cheers!
@@_TheModernCreative this response lmaoooo
@@ethrank1393 why? Why not? Cheers!!!
Owning MODO myself, I can attest that the grooves included are pretty lame.
Maroon 5 what have you
