We had a 110 car loaded grain train and a 215 car mixed manifest with mid-train and rear DPUs. It included an untagged GATX and UP box cars along with many different vintage cars of different types, a load of heavy plate steel and likely hazardous waste contaminated soil in covered gondolas. I applaud you for the spectacular video today, Red! You caught fabulous interesting and fast trains running through Montour. This video had nearly everything a person could want! The length and speed of the trains amazes me. I've yet to see anything close to these where I'm from in Indiana. That's one reason I adore your videos. You had a busy day at Montour, Iowa on 4 August 2024 between railfanning and cutting the lawn, Red! That was a nice train meet that started at 5:28. It was good that you had the drone up and working so that you could catch the train meet. It was nice to see some CNW cars on a couple of the trains on this video. (Posted 15 August 2024 at 2041 CDT.)
@thomasmackowiak That was a crazy Day Thomas! This footage was hours before the coal train derailment near Quarry. I left Montour about 2 hours before the derailment.

@@redsiowatrainvideos6645 i was in Cedar Rapids/Marion on august 17th, i was surprised that the Cedar River goes right through the downtown area. My daughter says that when the river floods, they close off the downtown streets, etc. I sure didnt know the river got THAT high!

Same reason we see CN units in Florida and Arizona, track rights and power sharing.........i live in central Illinois, and on occasion, i see units from all the big roads go through.
