- Freshly renovated Dwight D. Eisenhower is moved into the Great Hall at the National Railway Museum ahead of Mallard 75 celebrations. www.nrm.org.uk/mallard75
The museum's own diesel electric shunter, 09017, carries out the shunt. You can see this loco in action and even have the chance to drive it in March 2013 www.nrm.org.uk/PlanaVisit/Even... Авто/Мото
Thank you all for your amazing work
My great grandpa helped restore that train and many others like the gm aero train, the army 101, and the T-1 2-10-4 steamy
Great job on that loco !!! She looks so great !!!
I wish she would visit the UK again for the 100th anniversary of Mallard. Me being a American living in the U.S., I can say we are proud to have one of the six surviving A4's in one of our museums, thanks to all who helped preserve her and her five other sister. I have seen all six of the A4's in person as well.
What a transformation to when I last saw it Thank you
I Saw her up close last month and she looks amazing, way better than when she arrived back in the UK. I hope though that when she is returned to America she is looked after better than she was before.
Looks awesome, the A4 looks pretty cool too. Great work NRM.
videos like this are great, id love to see one of re arrangine the main hall.
great vid!
Very good looks much better now
I went their and it was brilliant and loved the 2 a4 engine at York dwight d.Eisenhower
Looking lovely good job NRM! :)
All the way from Wisconsin. Wow...
Defo going to be making the short trip up to York in July to see all six A4s together :D
Wicked vid the 08 looks great
I usually see this locomotive in Wisconsin
awesome video i love the A4's
Me too! I have to go... They're the best loco's in the world to me :)
Great
FWIW, the main difference between an 08 and an 09 is in the gear ratio between the traction motors and the wheels. The 09 can go almost twice as fast (27.5 mph) as an 08 (15 mph), but is correspondingly less able to move very heavy trains.
I imagine that, were it necessary, converting an 08 to an 09 or vice versa would not be very difficult.
Could anyone give me a website or tell me any express passenger trains from and to York 1960's? Like the Pullman, anything like that as well as suburban trains
Many Thanks
Kyle
