Steve is most certainly NOT under-rated. He is celebrated, at 69 years old he still tours. Most of his concerts sell out. He is the most amazing man I have ever had the pleasure to meet twice. Steve is Steve & I need to come to America one day.
My second favorite gift from Steve Earle...have been a fan since we were both a lot younger, growing up in the Texas hill country. A lot has changed, a lot has stayed the same. God bless him with Many more good years.
Wow! What a great video. Steve Earle + acoustic guitar + mouth organ + some of his best songs + his powerful performance. What more could you want? Superb!
I saw Steve & Allison perform about 20 winters ago at the Outremont Theatre in Montreal. Half way through, there was a neighborhood power failure and Steve didn't hesitate to unplug and move closer to the audience and played the last hour that way. It was very special and I'll never forget it.
Thank you The Current from a long time Steve fan and member. He's an absolute poet as well as an underappreciated story teller, singer, artist, and performer.
Eh, he voices his opinion a bit too much. Especially when he shouldn't, like when he is performing an opening for a main event. His language is often unnecessary and he's ignorant to others around him and those who book him. He's actually quite the dickhead most of the time unfortunately. It's sad to think about how fine of a line an artist or celeberty walks to be mutual and not piss anyone off, just to have Steve go out and talk about everything and everyone he hates. I guess he has to do something besides sing though since he doesn't really seem that great at it. I don't think this guy deserves any fans, but he's only got a few so it's cool
I got to see Steve with his full band behind him up here Saskatoon last summer. That was an amazing treat. This acoustic set is something else too. I hope he records one of his Alone Again concerts to view to. He is an artist in his profession. Thank you Current
Thanks for this jem of a concert. I had always wanted to see him live, and was doing photography for the Halifax film festival at the casino. When entering the room, I heard what I thought was a good rendition of copperhead road from the next room. Sure enough it was Steve and the dukes. I took a break and the doorman let me in. I guess it was a long break now that I think back.....😊
this a go rest song. with good sound. I have all his music. I'm 74 now. still listen to Steve daily. he really needs to always use at least a small band for the sound he's capable of.
Steve Earle has impacted my life my father and I have had many nights drinking and and listening to Steve my father has since past away i always wanted to see steve live maybe i will get that chance with my son.Steve Earle you have impacted my life in ways you will never know.Super fan ...Building my own chill parlar bar
I got to see him live 5x, and I met him 5x as well. He always took a few minutes to chat, he is a real cool cat. Tell you what, get ahold of me and I'll share my chili recipe with you if you'll put it in your bar. ;)
A quick response to your question. I love Steve's music (well, a good bit of it) too. But over the years Steve has probably alienated a high percentage of his audience with his comments and politics. As an artist he has to remain true to his art. I get that. But there's way too many times I'd just want him to shut up and sing.
@@stormbringercoming8105 I appreciate your response. Refreshing to have some civil discourse and honest commentary without the need to condescend. Thank you.
Anybody can be an asshole (I am a 3rd degree black belt.) Grandma said, an empty can makes the loudest noise. Thanks. As for Mr. Earle, I think he would get into a furious discussion about how the toilet paper should hang on a roller. I hope the man is at peace with himself.
@@stormbringercoming8105 Steve is a great songwriter. I think he is wrong in some of his opinions but if that's what it takes to write like he does ....
Some folks, some performers, have that perfect storm of electricity mixed with profound mad swagger. This cat right here is among that set. If you had to put a depiction of those characteristics…..it’d be him.
I saw him at the City Winery in NYC years ago. He attended his Autistic son during the day, and walked over to do the shows at night. That tells you all you need to know about him as a person.
"This one goes out to what's her name, wherever she is...same girl, different harmonica. Some girls are better for songwriting than others. That has nothing to do with the quality of the girl, in my experience." - Steve Earle
"I don't believe in borders" - when people say this I wonder if they change their mind when it comes to their own property. I'm sure the native peoples affected by open border policies see it differently
im fan of many texas artists, but when i want to rock out its rodney crowell and steve. i m close in age to him and i im repeatedly disturbed by his calling women girls.the last time i was called a girl i was not much over 20 ,early 70s and it was not appropriate then.im usually ok with his politics and find it very odd that hes so politically aware and has not been confronted by this over and over.and changed with the times
Im a bit younger than you but I know what youre talking about. Im very disappointed that alot of men our age seem to be politically hip but ignorant when it comes to women. They are surprised to hear I and most women find it offensive. when a man calls us girl, honey, sweetie etc. None of them would want to be called a boy
A live concert would be with a band. This is a living room performance... if it was my living room I'd be okay with it. Otherwise give me the whole fricken band.
00:08 Dublin Blues (Guy Clark)

17:15 Goodbye

The second song is "Desperados waiting for a train".
Not at all sure I know you
Goodbye here is sublime. Chills.
Steve is the very best.
Saw him twice live this year ❤️
Just enjoyed Steve solo at the Acorn theatre last night, one hour forty five minutes of his greatness, you can’t get better!
One of my heroes singing another hero’s songs. This day is officially awesome!!
Most underrated voice in music. Amazing singer and talented artist!
One of My Very Favorites.

Lot's of radio stations that play classic music.
But. They still don't play Steve Earle. WHY ??
Thanks! Going to watch this today, my 60st birthday, I ♥ Steve Earle and his music ♪♫ ♥

"I don't believe in borders" - when people say this I wonder if they change their mind when it comes to their own property. I'm sure the native peoples affected by open border policies see it differently

That's a rough road you're on, to be offended by an old songwriting tradition like that. Sad...
I have been called baby, honey, sweetie, boy by many southern women. Lyrics to his songs (to me) arent meant to be degrading.
Sounds like you’re lookin for something to complain about
