Saw MLP in "Heisenberg," Broadway show, and talked to her afterwards. Brilliant acting, and she's hysterically funny off stage, genuine, very intelligent, wacky as hell and absolutely gorgeous. She truly looks 10 times better in person than on screen. Just looked her up on Wiki. She's won a ton of acting awards and is involved in over a dozen worthy humanitarian awards: helping children in Africa, working with Tom Hanks to help soldiers with PTSD, children's reading programs, helping musicians with cancer get their music recorded and more. If I ever go lez it will be for her.
I love the show weeds. The movie the chumscrubber is also so good. Similar vibes. The Chumscrubber has th same actor who plays Doug Wilson’s son in Weeds. Weeds is so so good. Im gonna rewatch it soon.
I like imperfect characters that have to make hard choices. Half the time I could only think, wow, I do not want this woman's life I'd be dead within a year. I, personally, would have just downsized when my husband died instead selling drugs, but then there would be no story. She was a better parent than my father or my mother, so, half the time I think Silas is being an ungrateful snot. As far a drug dealer goes she was pretty ethical. She didn't sell the hard stuff, she blew the whistle when it came to human trafficking. She tried to give Peter's first wife the life insurance money which something that no one would actually do in real life, come on, especially when she was being such a B about it. She took the fall for her son. I really don't see how she's a terrible person, just a reasonably selfish person that obviously loves her kids put into a difficult situation.
Took the fall for her son? She's the reason why he was in that position. Towards the end of the series she was a horrible manipulative person. She didn't treat anyone as an equal until they threatened to leave in which case she sung a song to get them back into her orbit. Ever noticed how anyone who left Nancy life improved dramatically? If she really loved her kids she wouldn't have dragged them along with her and put them into situations that put their life on the line. She just can't stand being alone.
@@eobardthawne324 Her son was in that position because she fell in love with the rich narco politician rather than Andy without realizing how dangerous he was. But the heart wants what it wants. And it's, like, a TV show, so they needed to keep making things dangerous to keep it interesting. Everyone finally gets (boring) peace in this ending. Why the hate?
@@globalhumanism "The heart wants what it wants". That’s bs especially since the second she realized he was dangerous to be around she should have left so as to not put her kids in danger. The problem is it’s not dangerous it’s just her being stupid. You can have dangerous situations without characters being complete idiots. Peace isn’t boring, it’s satisfying especially when it’s earned.
@@eobardthawne324 That was quick. Ever have rose colored glasses on at the beginning of a relationship? Anyone here who hasn't? And she learned her lesson; her next love was an actual rabbi. (Before that, an architect then a DEA agent, the latter of whom turned out to be as bad as the narco. Maybe she was overcompensating?) Peace isn't boring IRL, but it is on TV.
The fellow who starts talking at 1:20 is seriously full of himself. "Unlike other shows, ours is true, vivid, insightful, genuine ..." That's what they all say.
MLP seems to be missing her Nancy Botwin spark during this interview. When other people are speaking (in the other vids), she seems lifeless and uninterested. And in this one, when she is speaking, what she says is interesting, but she seems so melancholy. What's up? :(
I never liked her as a mother, talking about Solitary Man, Saved!, and Fried Green Tomatoes. I can see why I wouldn't like her Suburban-dope-growing mother either. But man, this woman's looks have grow on me. I can't get enough of her. Another lady crush here.
Initially, yes, that was what was awesome about the show, but it became so ridiculous that nothing she is saying makes sense. Clearly there is a ton on BS in the show. A suburban house mom is not going to marry a Mexican mayor for no reason.... this show got so bad so quickly. The next season really needs to do something new
I believe the standard diagnosis for bitterness like yours is sexual frustration, but dont give up hope. Theres a man or woman out there for you. Its just a question of finding someone whos turned on by uncontrolled rage and gratuitous profanity. Hope your life gets better soon. Goodbye.
She portrayed her character better than literally any other actor could
1000%. She absolutely transformed into Nancy and slayed.
Yeah she a bad bidge
it’s so awesome watching the actors of your favorite show talk about the characters they play
Nancy is a perfect example of manipulative yet lovable person

Agree!!! Where did U catch her offstage? I might go to see the sound inside next month.
I fucking love this show so much
Absolutely love this beautiful lady.

Does she wear Nancy Botwin’s hoochie dresses irl? As her sister called the dress that😂
She really reminds me of Julianne Moore here.
Thank you!!!!!!!!! I am flawed and it is beautiful

Madelyn Today well said

god, when are you ever going to find a woman in her 40's that is that pretty. woo!

What did you say?
Mary Louise Parker is my idol. Nancy Botwin is my fantasy.
Haha the interviewer coughed like a baby
Oh they're everywhere.
After reading some of the comments, I realize I'm not the only one going lesbian for her =)
She is not that pretty. Don't know what people are talking about.
yeah, beautiful!
Andy's funny
@Yamora101 You and me both. O_O
am i the only one who accidentally searched "Mary Jane Louise Parker"
JTPWALKER 4 years later, i can say, yes you must be the only one
Oh yeah it's great to be a mom and put your child at risk. Empathy.
God she's perty!!
@Shalalaforever my mama
@Shalalaforever shakira.
@Stillmatic5966 she really is incredibly unlikeable its weird that a lead character is so awful
She talks too much and sounds too intelligent, damn.
