KANSAS 🎸- " MAGNUM OPUS " 1976 Studio Version , Now this song you must hear 🎧 it's just one of KANSAS Masterpieces 🎹 from start to finish it will keep you engaged, plus also the song called " SONG FOR AMERICA " 1975 Studio Version these 2 are Masterpieces in their own right. Musically and Vocally
Another epic song from a great band, coming out of a decade just loaded with one epic song after another. " Miracles " like many of their's is an instrumental journey accompanied with deep lyrics. And every song from this album provides its own special meaning. If you thought that was wild, try listening to the final track, " Magnum Opus. " Talk about epic.
I turned JM on to Kansas. I got him to do "Magnum Opus", after "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust In The Wind".... see them in his "Playlist". I think JM now knows just how "EPIC" Kansas can get.
Had the good fortune of seeing this group half a dozen times back in the 80s. They were a fantastic live band and the crescendo was during this song when Steve Walsh was doing a handstand on his keyboards. Never saw anything like it,never will again.
Still amazes me that after all these years and attending over 1100+ concerts since 1973, the Kansas "Left Overture" tour at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby (Philly) is still my 3rd favorite concert of all time. They were as perfect as a band can be playing live that evening.
Good Day JM (Jarvis). You have the best “Reactor” channel on YT. I have been following several for the past 4 years. You produce the best “Classic Content” with the most legendary artist and songs. Your efforts to make comprehensive comments covering all aspects of the music is very rare. Always intelligent analysis along with your Charming Character and Friendly Smile. NEVER pausing any song and using your expressions to show your thoughts is absolutely PERFECT. Never change that process. I’m sure many of your followers agree with me. You are doing a Superb Job providing us the great music we all love with a twist…. YOU make all the difference.
What an Awesome song (among their many Awesome songs). My favorite band for almost 50 years (until 2021). Their music NEVER let's me down. EVER. Check out LONELY STREET. Peace. 5.82
How has this been up for 10 days with only 436 views ?? That's INSANE !! What's up people ?? Kansas was one of the greatest rock bands ever and that's not just my opinion by far !!?
When I first discovered your channel January 12th, with a Zeppelin tune, I left my first suggestion, you had 40 videos posted. Mine was number 41.… Chambers Brothers - “Time Has Come Today”…. I wanted to fry your brain, and it did just that. Since then I copy all your videos in a “Reactions” folder. All the songs that are my suggestions I put in a separate folder “JMBOY TV My Tunes”…. You have done 127 of my suggestions, so far. I am most happy about the list of names I turned you on to… John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Don Henley, Supertramp, Kansas, Santana, Righteous Brothers, Credence Clearwater Revival, Iron Butterfly, ZZ Top, Joe Cocker, Elton John, Peter Frampton, The Chambers Brothers. Anita Baker, Carly Simon, Chaka Khan, Quicksilver Messenger Service Tears For Fears.. Songs for several other artist previously done. I strongly Appreciate that and I share your videos with family and friends. We all agree…. You are TOO COOL
What makes this life worth living? Love, and miracles out of nowhere! I love how Kansas flawlessly blends symphony orchestra and top notch rock into the masterpieces only they can deliver. I think they are the best among bands such as Rush, Pink Floyd, and Electric Light Orchestra. The 70s and 80s produced the best music and were the pinnacle of human civilization.
"Miracles Out Of Nowhere" - Kansas On a crystal morning I can see the dewdrops falling Down from a gleaming heaven, I can hear the voices call When you comin' home now, son? The world is not for you Tell me what's your point of view? Hey there Mister Madman, whatcha know that I don't know? Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away Tell me, what made you that way? Here I am just waiting for a sign Asking questions, learning all the time It's always here, it's always there It's just love and miracles out of nowhere Tell me now dear mother, what's it like to be so old? Children grown and leaving, seems the world is growin' cold And though your body's ailing you Your mind is just like new Tell me where you're goin' to It's so simple, I mean right before your eyes If you'll look through this disguise It's always here, it's always there It's just love and miracles out of nowhere Love and miracles out of nowhere I sang this song a hundred, maybe a thousand years ago No one ever listens, I just play and then I go Off into the sunset like the western heroes do Tell me what you're gonna do Here I am, I'm sure to see a sign All my life I knew that it was mine It's always here, it's always there It's just love and miracles out of nowhere Love and miracles out of nowhere Out of nowhere
This song is certainly a well portioned sampler platter of sounds, tones, rhythms, and texture. My taste in music demands such a variety. The end of this song in concert was electrifying. Whole stadiums would be moving and bobbing. I saw them at least if not more than a half dozen times, in Arenas, Honky Tonk bars, fairgrounds, and even a dog track. They were hugely satisfying, no matter the venue.
Kansas was formed in early 1973, with the original lineup comprising Steve Walsh- Vocals-Keyboards-Percussion, Robby Steinhardt-Vocals-Electric Violin, Kerry Livgren - Guiters-Keyboards, Rich Williams- Guitars, Dave Hope - Bass and Phil Ehart.Drums
Actually that's the classic line up. There were, I believe, two prior versions of Kansas with some different members including a saxophonist. The earlier marks evolved out of a couple of other Topeka area groups that merged. One was named White Clover and I forget the other offhand. Check out Kerry's biographical book "Seeds of Change" for all kind of interesting stories.
Another superb reaction. This is the second one I've watched from you. And while the next one on my list is you reacting to Carry on Wayward Son, which will be cool to watch, I want to offer you two other tunes from Kansas. I don't see where you've reacted to either of them. The first is my favorite Kansas song Magnum Opus. Some of the best guitar work you'll ever hear in that one. And What's on my Mind rounds it out. Both are exceptional. Hope you take the time to react to them. And thanks again for this video.
Love what's on my mind. I lived in the days where you bought a new album on vinyl and listened to all of it .. repeatedly. You miss great songs by skipping and playing all the radio played songs.
id love to see you go back and listen to more kansas. There's far too many to suggest but I'd like to see you try Mysteries and Mayhem//The Pinnacle as a pair. Also Cheyenne Anthem is a really powerful song, the last few lines always get me
LISTEN to Sparks Of The Tempest written in 1974ish, if you get it you will begin to see some universal constants and understand the world today fortold 40+ years ago. Again, welcome to christian music. To continue your journey listen to all 17 minutes of 2112 then on to Red Barchetta and you could continue your journey with more christian music by Triumph with the tune Ordinary Man. Finally moving to the modern era with We The People by Kid Rock. There is much more but that'll get you started.
Dave Hopes mix of rhythm and melodic bass lines makes him one if not the best prog era bassists. I picked up the bass because of him and always tried ( with no luck ) to emulate his style.
True, but he became a Christian about five years after this was written. Check out his band AD after he left Kansas in the early '80s. Not quite as progressive but some good stuff here and there nonetheless.
"So Much Going On In This Song" 6 Musicians, 12 hands, 60 Fingers... all those Notes... WOW. It's "Kansas" what should you expect.
A symphony of rock and roll. It’s Kansas. They NEVER did anything half assed
an absolute masterpiece...let it sink in that this is almost 50 years old...
A hidden gem... "Hold On" is another Kansas tune worthy of a reaction
Love the fugue in the middle. When Ehart's drums kick in it is magical.
A very powerful and moving song.

Kansas music is very spiritual and emotional. Got to love prog rock
My absolute favorite Kansas song. Another one is "Can I Tell You Something" - still relevant.
I'm 62 yrs OLD. This STILL moves me...
I'm 61, LOVE Kansas was a huge fav back in the day. Saw them live several times.
Didn’t stop the song and comment, kudos to you, great band
Love this song, this album, and this band.

I too saw Steve Walsh do handstands on the keyboard. Just can’t remember where. I’m from Topeka KS so I have had a lot of opportunities to see them.
Absolutely Love this song!!!
As a kid, this was one of my favorites by KANSAS.

The neck-breaking transitions are what I find most attractive about this piece. Rock on!
After 50 years, this is still one of my all-time favorite albums. A masterpiece for the ages.

Great choice! Awesome band and terrific song.
Love watching your reaction to this and other classic songs!
Phil Ehart on Drums.... Man. that phucker can play like few others I've ever seen or heard. A true Master at his craft.
Kansas.. you should try listen to all of thier albums.. start with the first one... You're going to be in for a hell of a musical journey...
I've sprained my ears before trying to absorb all the music that's going on at one time in that song! absolute masterpiece.
Ha ha… sprained my ears.. thats a good one. For me I think the sprain is somewhere between my ears and my brain. Thanks tho.

"It's just love and miracles out of nowhere." - Easily my favorite Kansas tune. Not even close.

"Sparks Of The Tempest" from "Point Of Know Return" is one I think you'd enjoy.

One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands.
You wanna get deep, try Lamplight Symphony. Beautiful song
CRANK IT UP!!.... Yep

Check out " The Wall " by Kansas
BANGERRR JM JUST LIKE THE WHOLE ALBUM ( LEFTOVERTURE ) 💯😊 SAME ALBUM AS THEIR HUGE HIT: CARRY ON WAYWARD SON, ENJOYYYY THIS GREAT PROG ROCK BAND 😊
Dave's personality comes out a bit on the bass here I think...great feel, great use of the pick, etc...
Dave Hopes mix of rhythm and melodic bass lines makes him one if not the best prog era bassists. I picked up the bass because of him and always tried ( with no luck ) to emulate his style.
Nice!!
Well, prog aint for everybody, but this album is special to an old dude.👍
If you haven’t, listen to On The Other Side and Icarus Born on wings of steel. Lol they didn’t make any bad songs
Son: What is progressive rock?
Father: This
Kerry Livgren, the writer of the lyrics of the song is a Christian so all of his stuff has hidden meanings that you need to digest.
True, but he became a Christian about five years after this was written. Check out his band AD after he left Kansas in the early '80s. Not quite as progressive but some good stuff here and there nonetheless.
Try Iron maiden
Hollowed be thy name!!
K...its not Rock...its Progressive Rock. Its supposed to be complicated.....the continuity is in the forest not the tree.
Leftoverture affected millions
You aint heard nothin' yet try Sparks of the Tempest and He Knew.... Welcome to Christian music from the 70s.
Amazing song! Cool review!
