I did install updates, there was a 3 day jump shown in the video where all I was doing was finding drivers and updating everything, which I then gave up and went onto Windows 10

Nice Video! The OpenGL issues with Minecraft on Windows 7 are caused by bad drivers, the one that Windows 7 downloads/has built-in are pretty limited and mostly just work for Aero and stuff like that, they are very inoptimal for gaming tho. You should have just downloaded the drivers from AMDs site or some other place.
@@frokfrdkyou need to set javaw.exe to run on the dedicated gpu in order for minecraft to run. If thats not enough, the amd drivers are pretty modable, you can swap the opengl dll driver with one from a more recent version, I was able to run DOOM 2016 with that
And if minecraft still refuses to run on the amd, you should swap the driver with and older one that lets you fully swap to dedicated graphics, even aero is run on the amd then but I think for that to work you need a BIOS update

Awsome to see this nice VAIO, i have actually the same one in basicially mint condition and even a green VAIO mouse. My brother is using this model in orange which also looks stunning and upgraded it to an i7 2620m and 16GB RAM. There are actually 2 versions of this line VPCCA (the one you have, with a bad ~14 inch 1366x768 screen) and the VPCCB with a really really nice 15.6 inch 1080P screen but those 2 models have different color schemes (so no green or orange with 1080P screen sadly). Also a nice fact for the backlit keyboard, the backlight only kicks on when the room is dark

Huh, I have a fairly similar model. A Sony VPC1J1E, with a black structured diamond design. Had the same issues finding drivers as Sony stopped hosting them since march 2023, but found them eventually
This is why i loved vaio's, they always looked so damn cool. I had a 2010 vaio E series with first gen i5 + radeon 5000M dedicated , and a 2013 vaio se series with i5 2430M + radeon 6470M dedicated and matt ips screen back in the day.
Watching this vid from my Fit 14A, the 2 in 1 version of the fit. SONY's vaio products were always too ahead of their time. They made nano pc's almost 20 years before GPD and the steam deck made them cool. They made the Flip series of reversible laptops which I still believe are the best way of making a 2 in 1 laptop/tablet, even though it is sometimes fragile. Too bad new VAIO laptops' best selling gimmick is the 3D printed carbon fibre body, which while it is probably the most space-tech thing on a laptop now, it is still not as ground breaking as their old woes. I'd still buy a new one though, even if it is just to get a laptop that doesn't fall apart like this old Fit.
I used to have this same laptop! A drunk guy stepped on it and broke it at a party my sister hosted and he refused to replace it! I also have a permanent scar from when I really did get burnt by this laptop because I fell asleep!

Maybe next time you should go to the Internet Archive to get an OEM build. I found a windows 7 build with all the Vaio software.
