      You’re welcome! So sorry for the delay. Thanks so much for watching! I put a hard boundary on my time in the last year so I could write a book, which I just finished the first draft 🙌🏼 Know that I always appreciate every remark/response and try to get back to each and every one.

    Social 9w8 (good balance in both) - haha "like a baby" had my rolling, and completely spot on. I wanted to add I'm very healthy and spiritual; and will adhere to the notion of taking significant time in solitude. I spent about 5 years SINGLE, not dating and having already been so happy, I was... more "found"- which reveal to me my lost library, my inner fire, all these desires and LOVING things when I didn't like them, and just being with my friends and opening stating "I'm the best!" In that childlike way lol. So kudos, definitely would recommend that time for themselves! Thank you for this video

    I'm a very serious 4w5 who rarely ever giggles but I had to giggle at you struggling with the "one bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". That was adorable.
    Thanks for this.

    I think all of your content is so spot on. Being a 4 and recently back in the dating pool, I resonate with everything you said about "us 4s". Ugh...it's such an internal battle...hot, cold, annoyed, insecure...!!!! 😆 However, hearing this makes me feel (somewhat) better 😏and is a good reminder that I need to check myself. Thank you!

    I relate to falling in love the potential of someone that the reality doesn't meet. I use to force connections just to be less lonely but it made me feel way more lonely. I'm overcoming a love addiction. I was searching for a saviour I found it by worshiping God. Thank you Jesus.

    Again, such good content. As a 9, just wrote out my boundaries explicitly, which wasn’t easy, but clarifying. Practicing sticking to them. Thank you for these videos! 🙏

    How is type 4 not just a severely traumatized person? Like yes we are creative, introspective, etc. but all of the shame wounds and insecurities are created through trauma. And what you describe is also addiction, the constantly "Grasping for something outside ourselves to make ourselves feel better." Or maybe all types are traumatized, we just all deal with it in a different way? Hence our "bad" aspects?

    • @drewnewkirk
      @drewnewkirk  Год назад

      Sorry for the delay on this, with every number we’re talking about degrees of traumatization. Just because I’m a four does not mean I have extreme trauma, but some do. We’re all on some spectrum of this. Fours will tend to exaggerate themselves anyway, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they forward traumatize their trauma. in all, we have to continue to work on our stuff. Keep creative yes, and introspective. But work on those wounds and insecurities just like every other number has to. Love how you’re thinking though in the process you’re doing. Thanks for watching and engaging so well.

    From what I gather, I am a nine. And a lot of it makes sense, however, rejection is very very hard for me. Does that make me more of a specific type of nine? I hate reduction it’s one of my worst fears.

    • @drewnewkirk
      @drewnewkirk  Год назад +1

      I don’t think anyone really likes rejection. It’s very hard for all of us. So I’m not sure what type of nine you are, but you are certainly a human like the rest of us.

    I’m shocked you believe in tri-types. do you have a video that goes into that? I have been learning from other enneagram teachers (Richard Rohr, Don Richard Riso, Russ Hudson, Suzanne Stabile) and I haven’t heard them promote/speak to the importance of tri types.

    • @drewnewkirk
      @drewnewkirk  2 года назад +2

      Tritypes are really new. Rohr and Beatrice would likely only mention them in an interview not in their work as it’s so new. Remember that the enneagram is a baby, these types of things get built upon over time and new voices enter and folks who revolutionized the area of expertise like Rohr and Chestnut etc are precursors to new voices

      Everything depends on health level, I don’t really buy that statement. I have too many ones in my life that are totally rewarding relationships and challenge my way of thinking. It actually makes for a great combination when two people are working hard on themselves.
