  • This was the first time I'd sailed my new Severne Dyno 115 with my new Severne Gator 6.5m sail on Friday 8 Apr 22. The conditions at Ballyholme were great, with a northerly blowing about 17-19 Kts that was steadily becoming more consistent during the afternoon as the tide came in.
My gybes still need more practice and I need to keep the weight in the harness when going for the back strap. Almost got airborne too!
    Thanks for watching.

that pack looks incredible, excellent thanks for sharing it with all of us
For a weight of 85 kg and 1.80, what Severne configuration would you choose? sail size and new board

I’m about 85kg in gear and a similar height. For choppy conditions I find the Dyno great. I also have a 95 for windier conditions (maybe above 25kts). I use the 115 with single fin (32) and the 95 with the thruster set up. I find the 6.5m sail is manageable from about 17 kts up to 20-22 if only gusting. I have a Fanatic Blast 130 for lighter winds and a Fox 105 for windy flatter water. Hope that helps.

@@111Anton333 I think in that wind range a 115L board should be ok for your weight. I find it great for choppy conditions where I wouldn’t bring out my 130L freeride board, but also want more volume under me just in case! If you really want something to float through the lulls, then there is the 125L version.

@@bobbinabout1317 thanks, I know what you are talking about. I have 140 and in strong wind and chopping conditions it is pretty hard to keep it ander my feet. I have to analyse everything and choose new board. For know it is my favorite.

Great surfing there, you have talent. Do you think the dyno is better than starboard carve on small waves cuz im planning to buy a new board but dont know which one

I haven't sailed a carve in a few years, however I also have a Fanatic Blast as my 'big board'. The Dyno works really well in chop and is quite forgiving, whereas the Blast goes better on flatter water. The Dyno I suppose is more of an all round board. I also have the Dyno 95, which is great in stronger winds and seas.
