@@pauls3555 It's probably not that. Here in Portugal the state entity responsible for heritage works very badly. Unfortunately, many times nobody claims their inheritance because they don't know that they have to claim it. Usually only the children claim the inheritance and when they are a relatively close family. If, by chance, the inheritance has to go to a brother, cousin, nephew, bastard child or someone who is emigrating etc. who does not have much contact, there is not much interest in informing/discovering who the inherited property belongs to and the state does not bother to take care of this unclaimed property.

I think Explomo had been to this mansion and the water was running then. I am surprised no one has looked for the water mains tap to turn the water off to the house. It would be such a simple solution. Beautiful furniture and sad that they did not live to be older and really enjoy their home.
Hello friends! I live in Brazil and whenever I can, I follow your videos. I want to register a comment about the closet they found in the garage. It is not a cabinet for chickens and other animals, but a cabinet to store cheese and salami, saving them from rodents and insects! Hugs to all of you!
From looking at the portraits on the wall, those may have been previous generation ancestors that the couple may have inherited the house from. If they died in 2003, that would not be them. There may be an obituary somewhere.
The one picture of the 20 smthg young man (Paulo was his name?) was contemporary, tho. His hair and clothes looked very late 90s. ruclips.net/video/ladagy7wgNA/видео.html ^^ Like this old OLP vid
You are like the Bob Ross of abandoned places, so soft and considerate for things once loved. It's hard to see everything left behind. I'm squirming, as a small time antiques dealer, watching these beauties just mold and rot through neglect.
The cabinet in the room 6 months later is a pie safe. It allowed baked goods to cool off with the screens keeping flies away. 😊 Or, as I just read, to protect cured meats and cheese safe, as well. 😉

Hi Lesley & Johnny, after you walked in Y saw the chairs of leather & then saw fireplace is that a wedding ring on ground next to it? Terrible to see a leak & roof will collapse & everything worth money will be destroyed!
The cabinet with the mesh doors, is similar to ones here in the UK and were used to keep items like cheese, bacon, milk and butter cooler, by letting airflow through the mesh. They also often have a shelve of marble that also kept things cooler, the mesh also kept insects from getting into the food.
In France, I have seen, potatoes and onions kept in this kind of cabinet because they need to stay in a dark, dry place, with a bit of air flow not to spoil quickly.
Sad story of how lives that look so promising could end so suddenly. With that said. I encourage everyone to take care of youself, appreciate what you have and enjoy life with your loved ones.
As someone said below, the cabinet with the mesh doors is for food storage. Air circulation was good and it kept rats and mice out of the goodies. In the old days, they also had cabinets that had mesh on the bottom over a hole dug into the ground. This added cold air from the basement to help keep items from spoiling! They really knew how to work with what they had. Thank you for the good tour.
I remember when I was a child going to my great-grandparents' house in West Virginia. It was left to my grandparents who would take us up there in the summer. Everything was sooooo old inside. A player piano, some really old antiques, I even remember some old Will Rogers coins everywhere. Saddest part about it was that my grandparents donated it to the church with everything inside, and the church turned around and sold it and it was turned into a parking lot :(
The “outside ,inside kitchen” is a smokehouse. Used to hang meat from the rafters and the large fireplace was the fuel to smoke and cure the meats. Also, if the story is true about the young newlyweds, they probably were living with his parents. Which would explain the older furnishings and decor along with the older style ladies clothing in the bedroom which many medications were discovered in the chest of drawers. Final conclusion, 3 generations living together with a small business where smoked meats may have played a part.😊

I really can’t get over how clean and pristine the wedding dress was not even any dust it’s like it has just been put there, very strange and very sad.
It had mold spots all over the back..... Still surprised it was in such good shape. It won't stay that way much longer. The mold will totally take over. Maybe that room was a lot drier than the other rooms.
Yeah the sun shining thru the windows may hv helped dispel mold n damp but i reckon the dress isnt really that old, wondering if it was planted there tbh

Hi Lesley and Jordy, Bros of Decay, my dearest friends, that was once more again an amazing explore video from Portugal. I enjoyed every second of your video! Very interesting to see so much still very beautiful antique furniture in that mansion! - Even behind all the decay and the very derelict state of the interior, there was still a wide amount of beauty to see in your video. - Of course I also enjoyed very much the funny effect, when you were switching to an other explore there with Danny. - Additionally I admired again your deep sensitivity and empathy, when you were telling the background story of the former inhabitants. - Lovely to see, that you were there together with your adorable brother Jordy, who was doing an excellent job with the camera. The location seemed somehow familiar to me. - I think your friend Maureno was there also together with Danny. Could this be the case? Thank you so much for sharing once more such an amazing explore adventure, I really appreciate a lot! - Stay safe, peace and much love from Switzerland. - Lots of blessings, my dear friend, and kindest regards. - Greetings also to Jordy!
It's sad to see the wood furniture being consumed by the excess moisture. The chairs are beautiful. My ex-husband's grandmother Italy and he inherited a lot of her furniture, which looks much the same! And, a Portuguese friend has similar furniture. The detailing, carving, beveled mirrors, marble tops! I love it. Thank you for sharing 🇺🇸
Beautiful house, with amazing carved furniture and all the fancy cut marble tops in the dining room, well, throughout the house were marvelous. So, sad to see it deteriorating. Such a tragic story.
The house was crying 😢😢😢 Those medication names are in Spanish and they are for diabetes and diabetes related conditions such as glucoma and inflammatory skin conditons also. The name Paula is also a Spanish name. The clothing in the wardrobes did not look like clothes a young girl would wear or a young woman but a middle aged woman. Also the way the whole house is furnished doesn't reflect a young couple at all.
Life could be over in a blink and it's not the material possessions you have that count, cuz those can rot away and decay. It's the people that you meet along the way and the memories you make that will last forever!!
Beautifully and sensitively explored, as always by you. You never disappoint, and you keep getting better. I believe that specially deep cabinet was what we called a “pie safe” meant to keep flies and other insects off cooling pies and other open foods.🖤🇨🇦
Hello, guys! Love your work and I admire the respect you have for the house and for the people who lived in them. The first medicine showed is for bronchitis, very common here in Portugal, especially in winter! Hope for more videos here in Portugal! Congrats!
I will never understand why... If the kids do not want the their Parents things... WHY NOT OPEN THE DOORS AND SHOUT OUT PLEASE TAKE AND LOVE THESE THINGS. You can have them... But you must promise to love and cherish them. To let rot...is just disrespectful to the parents. 😞 Makes me cry.
Just wondering the same or is there more to the home that we might not know. ? HOWEVER ,REST IN ETERNAL PEACE IN GLORY WITH GOD'S HEAVENLY KINGDOM ....
It isn't judgement. It is common sense to ask this question. Even the city should have resold it after two years, or investigated who the owners were, what happened, and find a solution.
Remnants of the life they lived, decaying as time drifts in. A dish, a dress, a chair forlorn, all the pictures these walls adorn. A moment in time frozen still, when there was life and love we feel them still. A truly beautiful yet tragic end. May they RIP. Thank you so much for your uploads. New subscriber.
I love the homes, it's beautiful wood furnishings. Especially the leather chairs with it's rich looking details. This house was huge! This house probably belonged to the husband's parents. Where he and his siblings grew up; definitely more than four people lived there. 😞 Hard for me to watch this video. The wedding dress, almost had me in tears. This is the saddest abandoned home video I've seen. These two love birds, never had a chance to enjoy each other for 40 or even 50 years... From the time they met, fell in love, got married.. Until death departed them from our world, they were together and died together. I wouldn't want it any other way folks.. This is truly a tragic story. My sincere and deepest condolences to their families and friends. God will grant them a home. A spectacular home filled with God's Grace and Love forever.
I would love to know more background to this story! But it seems to me that it's not a young couple's home & business. The clothes, the well-driven cars, the antique furniture, all the medications, the very old pictures ... 2007 was not that long ago! I would say that it's a grandparents home .. and that it was their SON or even their grandson and his wife who were killed in the car accident. And then the grandparents both died - or went to a care facility to die - and there was no one left to leave it to because they were killed in the car accident just after they were married. It's a sad thing to see their home in this state : (
Their wedding picture was very old. In 2007 they would have been elderly. They didn't pass soon after they got married. The picture of the child was probably their grandchild. Thanks. I love your videos ❤
Hi lesley , another good home full of memories . Thanks I love your respect and simple fascinating commentary . Love from Cairns Australia ...I often watch you before bed.. Your soothing voice is all I need. xxxx
My favorite one was when you guys found the tunnels and the cave with the beautiful tower. I love all your videos. Thank you for sharing these videos with us. ❤
What a sad story, but you describe it with such care and respect. I had a very sad feeling seeing the wedding dress. Thank you for another interesting explore.
I always watching your videos you are so respectful when you go threw the homes and never do you use and cuss word I haven't seen you for awhile so glad to see your videos again
I'm surprised the water Dept. doesn't check out why so much water is being used at that address. Who pays the bills each month?lovely antiques sad they will just rot. Very expensive cars left behind. Love you guys.take care Great job Jordy and Leslie.👍❤️❤️🇺🇸
I just love the way you explore the past, you are so eager to see what is around the next corner and in every cabinet. You must have wonderful parents because you are so very respectful! I also have great respect and love for times gone by. As a matter of fact I am a retired geriatric nurse and have learned a great deal of history from time spent with my elders😊! when you are in a place that has a water leak you might want to look around the outside for a main water valve, all buildings with indoor plumbing need to have a valve in order to shut the water off to make repairs. Thanks again for your videos 👍👌😘 much love from NewMexico, USA
Thank you for the very respectful tour. It seems as though the house belonged to a much older couple and it may have just been inherited by someone. It was a great tour.
Hi Lesley - I love your videos. I am a professional butler and house manager and spend my life with the wealthy and their possessions. You have such a beautiful and soothing voice - and - if I may say so - you are very easy on the eye. Best wishes. Ron - Sydney Australia.
I was married in 2000. You mentioned 2003 being the last time they lived there. My wedding photos are most definitely in colour and modern. The photo in that house, on that wall is likely 1900’s. Not 2000’s. The furniture and home is old; yes, but the wedding dress hanging there isn’t. Maybe someone hung it there in memory of the story. A dress hanging for years would have turned yellow even over a short amount of years, not to mention moths eating away at it. A Visa? That’s also modern. Not sure what the true history here really is? I’m guessing they died old.
So sad they passed so young. Wish they could have enjoyed their house for longer. Just a shame all their belongings were left unattended. Thank you for sharing. Love listening to you chat. I watch from California U.S.A
Such a shame to see all that beautiful furniture & things just go to waste, rotting away. Thank you for sharing your videos, be careful in your travels & stay safe.
Wow that is such a sad situation. Poor people. Now maybe the family was not able to deal after the tragedy. Definitely strange why everything left. Just do not get it. All those years was no one left. The cabinets in this home were beautiful and the detail in the chairs outstanding. Thanks for showing this home. Lovely job Lesley Jordy and Danny. Awesome. Stay safe and let us know more about patreon lots of people do not know about this. Love you and I had serious tears in my eyes when you showed the dress and possible pictures of the couple. May they rest peacefully. May their souls find comfort in one another. Blessings for everyone.🙏🕊👰🤵👼💗🌅
Story of this couple doesn't all match up, does it? A children's bedroom? A recently married couple? And the portrait pictures on the wall belong to an earlier generation. Almost looks as if a younger couple was living with parents, or had inherited the house. They didn't look to be particularly well off, even allowing for some ransacking and looting over the years. And all that medication? Nah, the story's sketchy! Oh and that wire mesh fronted cabinet. Regardez the clues! A huge exhaust chimney and cooking facilities, racks for possibly hanging meat or fish.... means it's probably a 'meat safe', where foods were placed common before refrigeration was the norm, or where there's no power supply, to keep the flies off!
Hi it was great that you wore your MASK because MOLD is not safe to breath. The house was very old maybe it was a wedding gift from older people. Or family members. Its to bad you CANT tell someone to turn the water off. Stay safe and please bring a mask with you.. Love.from USA
I love to watch this channel. I am indigo and I can see the pass and what happened here and it very sad story. Its make me cry sometimes when they have a untold story .
I might guess that the cupboard with the mesh doors, since it’s next to a kitchen, might have been a cooling cabinet, where the cook put pies, bread, etc., to cool after baking.
Towards the end of the video was an outdoor kitchen where you had a brick oven to bake breads and roast food. They would also smoke sausages like chouriço. The cabinets were for food storage prior to refrigerators
Yes, the indoors outside kitchen was used for baking and smoking also might have been a summer kitchen. Love watching the Bros of Decay !! Much Love and safe travels to you all
The moment I watched your channel I became addicted...when I saw personal items of the deceased and how their house became ruins It saddened me.If the owners were still alive and saw their belongings scattered like trash I am pretty sure It would break their hearts.keep up the good work guys and I will continue watching your videos...😉🥰🥰🥰
The calendar says Mercado which means market in Spanish. It could have been printed for their business. So being a market and tavern would be plausible.

Hi Lesley and Jordy, Bros of Decay, my dearest friends, that was once more again an amazing explore video from Portugal. I enjoyed
every second of your video! Very interesting to see so much still very beautiful antique furniture in that mansion! - Even behind all the decay
and the very derelict state of the interior, there was still a wide amount of beauty to see in your video. - Of course I also enjoyed very much
the funny effect, when you were switching to an other explore there with Danny. - Additionally I admired again your deep sensitivity and
empathy, when you were telling the background story of the former inhabitants. - Lovely to see, that you were there together with your
adorable brother Jordy, who was doing an excellent job with the camera.
The location seemed somehow familiar to me. - I think your friend Maureno was there also together with Danny. Could this be the case?
Thank you so much for sharing once more such an amazing explore adventure, I really appreciate a lot! - Stay safe, peace and much love
from Switzerland. - Lots of blessings, my dear friend, and kindest regards. - Greetings also to Jordy!
Sad to see so much water damage! Must’ve been a nice house
back in its day, it is sad to hear the couple passed away at a young age!
What a sad story. Thank you for being so respectful! ♥
Beautiful house, with amazing carved furniture and all the fancy cut marble tops in the dining room, well, throughout the house were marvelous. So, sad to see it deteriorating. Such a tragic story.
The house was crying 😢😢😢
Those medication names are in Spanish and they are for diabetes and diabetes related conditions such as glucoma and inflammatory skin conditons also. The name Paula is also a Spanish name. The clothing in the wardrobes did not look like clothes a young girl would wear or a young woman but a middle aged woman. Also the way the whole house is furnished doesn't reflect a young couple at all.
I agree. Child bed clothes are more near in time than the furniture.
Annie Lark i agree with you also those clothes looked a lot larger than that wedding dress.
Exactly..
Excuse me but Paula is a very comun name in Portugal 🇵🇹
Portuguese
Because was probably very small when the parents died.
You could easily sell them to some antique store. Even if for cheap they at least would have some use.
And I will never understand people like you who judge people without knowing there situation.
Those chairs are works of art.
Love to watch you guys adventures..and the old antiques back from the day
Hi lesley , another good home full of memories . Thanks I love your respect and simple fascinating commentary . Love from Cairns Australia ...I often watch you before bed.. Your soothing voice is all I need. xxxx
Ohh that's a sad story ...I salute u bros for always being sooo respectful be safe. God bless.
I love all your videos. You tell the story was such compassion and always treat the belongings with care 💜
“All the tables are around the chair...” 😁
Funny as hell had to keep rewinding lmfao😂👍👍
Leslie is adorable! 😂
i caught that also lol
😅🤣
I really love and respect how respectful you both are
I can't believe that places, full of exquisite furnishings, are abandoned!
Loved your video. Thank you for being respectful of these people and their home. This is a very sad story. That wedding dress was especially sad.
I was so happy to see you two awesome brothers exploring together! Love from Houston, Texas❣
Thank you for your videos. I am in the US and my mothers side of the family are Portuguese. Love looking at the culture. Thank you !
I always watching your videos you are so respectful when you go threw the homes and never do you use and cuss word I haven't seen you for awhile so glad to see your videos again
Thanks for taking us along with you on this journey. Stay safe 💕
Thank you! Loved the popup 6 months in the future! The water was still running loudly... Portugal is lovely and the ppl seem respectful.
Wow, Great video, Very informative. Curious, wondered what happened to the couple. What you did find out, was so appreciated..
I'm surprised the water Dept. doesn't check out why so much water is being used at that address. Who pays the bills each month?lovely antiques sad they will just rot. Very expensive cars left behind. Love you guys.take care Great job Jordy and Leslie.👍❤️❤️🇺🇸
Exactly right.
Water Department should come into the property and turn off the waterline. I agree too much water is being wasted.
Right Gayle. If that happened where I live. They'd definitely have cut it off.👍✌️
The water could have been coming from a well.
I agree💙
A Visa? That’s
also modern. Not sure what the true history here really is? I’m guessing they died old.
The photo of the couple looks to be taken in the 1940s.
So sad they passed so young. Wish they could have enjoyed their house for longer. Just a shame all their belongings were left unattended. Thank you for sharing. Love listening to you chat. I watch from California U.S.A
Hola amigos. It is a very sad story; but this is a stunning mansion. Greetings from #Panama 🇵🇦
Thank you Nancy, Appreciate your comment
That plate made in Brazil isn’t made by hand, and they are quite popular here in Brazil.
But they are beautiful indeed.
Beautiful furnishings there. As much as I would like to see this…. It’s just to sad & heartbreaking 💔 to watch. Thank you✨
Thank you for another adventure with history! I allways wonder what was out there in the world 🌎 love charis xx
Looking forward to seeing you guys on a new adventure 🤗❤️👌
May the Rest In Peace, it’s really sad though. I love your content and greetings from Daytona Beach-Florida
Such respect has been shown to this couple outside and inside,,,,even wine and beer outside untouched🙂 🤩
You guys are amazing!! Thank you so much, and for the respect too for the Families and beloveds!!
Much Love and safe travels to you all
... Im fascina ted by the beautiful furniture. This House feels so hommy, I could had lived there gladly.
Excellent explore! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Seeing the lady's wedding dress really brought home the tragic story.
Beautifully done. Much respect
The calendar says Mercado which means market in Spanish. It could have been printed for their business. So being a market and tavern would be plausible.
Em português também é mercado.
This house it's in Portugal. In Portuguese language market it's also mercado.
I enjoy your videos so much. Your channel is the first one I check before I look at any thing else. God Bless You. USA
I seen this mansion on Maureno's channel....it was leaking water then. Beautiful history and narration Leslie
I love how respectful you are of the places you visit!
