The metal disc on the top is there for if the unit fails, the processor goes into thermal runaway, overheats enabling you to use it as an emergency hotplate as the size is ideal for a small saucepan.

Do you recommend this one or the Nivea shield tube or stick some people here in Canada call it a stick some a tube I'm just looking for opinions as which one is the better option the mecool or Nivea shield?
Does it support auto frame rate switching in Plex? If they're saying that it would replace the KM6 then it should have AFR.
The remote for the mecool is the same as my Walmart onn 4k streaming device. If it's actually an onn device with ports your being overcharged. I know you can't get onn In the UK which is a shame cause I think my onn is faster than that mecool. Good video like always 👍
Km2 is still great. Would’ve preferred an update instead. I had no storage issues ‘only running 4-5 big apps.
I'd like to see what a UK version is like. Shame the licensing is seemingly pushing the price of the unit up by about 30% on what you'd expect to pay for a stock Android box. It doesn't really complete with them or a Fire cube. It's a "no" from me until the price drops to around £50...
Would you pick this or the formuler gtv?
brother, one question, I'm in doubt, since the mecool km2 plus has the Amlogic S905X4-B soc and the AV1 codecs and apart from it has Netflix 4K certification, it would no longer be worth buying a Mecool Km6 Deluxe because the Mecool Km2 Plus already has almost everything and at a good price, THANK YOU.

Can't delete files from the download folder in the file explorer that comes on the box...some files ya send to it shows an android logo like its a system file ....cant delete any unless I do a factory reset

Out in Spain 🇪🇸…running the Mecool KD3 stick thru a projector. Awesome flawless streaming and is powered thru USB into the projector so no extra power lead required. Well impressed 💪🏼👍👍
Found a better projector for cheaper and just hooked the shield to it. Using bt 5.3 speakers as the audio. But they had a great idea I’ve been doing it for awhile

Yes, you can turn off HDR.

I am planning to buy Km2 Plus but I am seeking advice from someone who tried to play games on GeForce Now with Km2 Plus.
Can this setup provide a satisfactory gaming experience, or would it be an impractical investment?
Due to my recent move and financial constraints, I am unable to purchase a PC or gaming console, and must rely on my 1080p TV. I came up with this idea but I'm not sure if it'll ever work.

I recently purchased mecool km2 plus. After it has been off for a long time and when it is turned on, it only displays an image in the upper left corner of the screen. It's strange that when I restart the device or turn it off and on again, the image returns to full screen.
Anyone having a problem?

Been really happy with most of what Mecool have done, nice to not have to suffer the bloatware associated with Amazon alternatives
Was running the Mecool KM2 until it died on me. Shame as it was a good bit of kit. Replaced it with an 2019 Nvidia Shield which is a little bit more expensive and so much better. I also picked up the FireTV Cube in a flash sale last month for £55 from Amazon. It was a no-brainer. I would recommend the Mecool but they have to be careful with their pricing if they want to represent value for money. They're slipping.

Do you need to jailbreak meecool devices to add apps that are not veriffied - Like downloader, kodi, iptv, etc..
You just get Downloader from the Google Play Store bud
You have to change picture resolution in settings to either 24hz,50hz or 60hz a bit annoying I know mate

Thank you for the review . But I have seen the netflix have a problem . It Can only Play HD version , but not 4k ? The Netflix ESN in the system shows 4K ...It feel strange ....Hope it's not a cracked version of netflix

Try the mecool device for a week my onn Google tv device got faster with more use it's as fast as my chromecast ultra with Google tv

As yet, itv hub doesn’t work, and no option to install iPlayer. You can chrome cast from your phone with those apps though.
When you tryed netflix i only saw hd apear....not 4k, not hdr, not vision.
is there any problem with Kodi?
Kodi works fine with this.

I bought one of these boxes the Mecool km2 plus is full of shaatt I'm trying to return it an the people will not answer me for a return the Netflix on it has poor quality pictures it's no good people

Personally had terrible experience with mecool, messaged them to see if remote viewing/anydesk would work and they said it would, after purchasing device and not working they blocked my email address to avoid having to deal with the issue, suppose if the box does what it wants for you good device but for me I won't be using them again
only 2gb ram, not 4gb? what about hdr? dolby vision? av1 codec? nah definitely overpriced...firestick 4k max not brilliant but better than this
