It almost looks easier to drop the dash forward as opposed to just pulling just the Ralley Cluster. I need to repair the speedometer cable on my 1970 Dodge Challenger. Unfortunately, when it broke it snapped the speedometer needle in half. So, I'm not sure how the get inside the lens to try and glue it back together. I was going to try and figure it out as I go. You're video is a tremendous help visually. Thanks for posting.
From my experience, it's not the cable it's the innards of the speedometer. The top limit spring broke allowing needle to hit the stop. You can purchase a replacement needle that can be glue directly over the broken one. Find a speedometer shop for your speedo. It's much easier to take cluster out than tilt dash. Make it a bit easier by lowering the steering column on the studs below the dash. Good lock!
@Paul T I'm new to the car. And, I am finding this is more likely the case based on other feedback as well. I did purchase a new speedometer cable already. So, I will more than likely replace it and the speedometer cluster together as I also need a trip reset pole too. Right now, my "overheating" issue is more important.
@@70MoparMan ZACKLY!!! Yes, 440 SixPack. 26" Radiator. Installed new shroud. Was better, but still puked a container of fluid into the tank. Just got new 7 blade fan and new fan clutch from Classic Industries. We'll see if that helps. 🤞
Had local radiator shop replace 2 row with 3 row core in stock radiator. Hi flow water pump and thermostat. Put in electric fan, separated trans cooler from radiator, 440s just don't like holdin still. I still can't keep cool
Everything I watched the video to try to learn about how to do, You did it without video recording it. Can the dash be removed without removing the windshield?
Sorry, no idea. I would look in the defroster vents for screws. Remove kick panels and see if it looks similar. Best thought, join a Ford forum I'm sure someone there can give you some insite.
Make sure the wire you are using to replace melted wire is the same gauge. I would go to a salvage yard and find a replacement harness. Should be relatively easy to find. It's tedious work if you have to solder and shrink tube the repair, but it's better than crimp connections.
Sonny Mendoza Some places to try; Tonys parts Mancini Racing Tonys parts Year One That's a few, get a Mopar magazine and find many other options. Try Cuda Challenger forum, there may be a interchangeable part from other models. Good Luck!
Thanks Paul. Just pulled the dash out of my 74 Charger and this helps to keep a reference to a lot of things as I move forward
Awesome! Thanks! Clear and precise!
Good luck with the project!

Just go faster and it will stay cooler!
I'm guessing Big Block? Do you have a fan shroud?

Will it work on 1970 Ford Thunderbird? We have issue that the start lock is cracked so we need to take dash out. Anyways Thanks! 😃
