The G80 M3 is an amazing vehicle and machine. There are some things that could be improved. The G80 M3's sound system is a bit underwhelming. Nice breakdown on the speakers and install! Been watching you from Germany. Bavsound's site says this install requires a heat gun. I don't remember seeing you use one.

Thanks for documenting your installation process. Do you have the complete Stage 1 installed? Or just the subs? If you have stage 1, what is your opinion?
I just have the go subwoofers installed. I did not want to do the stage one kit, because I did not want to remove my door panels. I will say I did have this exact system on my f80 M3 along with the stage 1 kit. It made a huge difference, the sound was crisp, and the mid and base hit pretty well
Good to hear they do returns if you’re not happy. I’m still waiting on my order for my g80 but I already know I’m going to want to do something with the sound. You legit feel like these offer more bass or would you say just a little better sounding bass?

My wife's Subaru Ascent HK is out of this world banger, the bass is so sick, while my G80 HK sound mediocre....I thought it had something to do with my adjusters, nop. It kind of leaves you scratching your head.

yes during the time of my order, I believe all US G8x came with HKs.

You can option harman kardon on these and I dont see how harman kardon is terrible compared to a toyota, etc.
System definitely becomes underwhelming with windows down. Going to install my jl w3 for now. Really want to wake the other speakers up though so we will see what I do. I really want an oem + solution. Need it to be louder for the highway.
Did you have the whole speaker set up in the f80? If so, what did you think?
I had the entire system on my f80. I have a video about it. This was done about a few years ago. It was a big game changer, the vocals were very crisp and clean. There was no crackling in the sound. The team over there really know how to make a quality product that's not going to break the bank.
The only thing you'll have to do is to be patient taking the door panels off. That's something I did not want to do myself on this platform. When I installed it on my f80 m3, I end up breaking some clips that resulted in some rattling later on. Which isn't a big deal if you're taking your time. But when I'm filming the whole thing it just takes a lot more time and patience

The HK system in my G80 is so trash. One of the biggest disappointments about the car. I’m worried an improved sub response will drown the poor highs out even more.
Yeah you would expect something solid with this platform being a M car but I myself was disappointed with the OEM sound system. I can honestly say it doesn't but then again sound is subjective to person style. One good thing about Bavsound is that they offer money back guarantee up to 100 days. So its less risk on your end. Plus you get to save the 10% off which I dont think they do too often with other content creators.

Well in my opinion and take it as is, for the price you pay, you would expect the system to be a bit more lively. The overall system appears to be bland and we're not the only ones who have complained about this.
Underwhelming compared to what? A rolls royce? I dont get it… What other cars have such better speakers stock that make these “terrible”
The Harmon Kardon system is much worse in F80 and G80 cars than the HK logic7 systems in the older E90’s. They clearly cut costs in the audio system over the years. Compared to the burmister system you could get in a comparable Mercedes Benz, the current HK system is very disappointing.
On the other hand, the bowers & wilkins system that is an available option on other bmw models (ix in particular) is among the best in the industry.
@@codean909 I seriously have never had a problem with the stock speakers, and now I bought a car with HK and I really think it's too much. The loudness it goes to is also too much. If you need more than HK you definitely have some OCD problems that need taking care of and this comes from someone with OCPD
The factory HK speakers are terrible. Compared to the last generation M3 and M4 for sure. Absolute joke.
SWS earthquake has better measurements than these
