Lovely boat.. Sailing in light winds on the Great Lakes. Perfect day!

I've just taken ownership of this boat, awaiting delivery as I haven't the time to sail her here. And by the looks of it, that'd take an awful long time. Hey I still love the go anywhere in comfort idea but all I can say is that engine better be reliable 😅

Where about is it going? I used to walk by it every day, and it was by far the most beautiful boat at LSYC

@@samuelkrajcBrooklyn, NY. We've pretty good breeze here and generally in favorable direction for scenic day sails around the area...along the beaches like Coney Island and into NY Harbour. Up and down the East Coast is my eventual hope with sights set to settle down south in the Carolinas. Thanks for the comment, it's reassuring to read.

@@derekec wow that sounds amazing! Is it being sailed over there?

    • @derekec

No, trucked. I'd have motored the Erie Canal if I had help but do not plus there is a narrow timeframe mandated by LSYC to move the boat so I'm forced to truck. Worse...straight to winter land storage so no enjoyment till Spring '24. Wish this video showed off some sail ability but I have to laugh that even with 4 sails out, it's barely moving. But it'll look good not doing so 😂. And I expect my location to do it justice....many days with winds in the teens.

What do you call the sail set between the mizzen and the main mast ?

Nice boat but honestly it looks like you are trying to sail a brick! :)
Your boat is able to go anywhere at a speed of 5 to 6 knots at any wind conditions because it's a motor sailor. You should keep the money for the light wind sails and buy you some fuel.

Yeah, here she is more "staying the lake Ontario" than is she sailing..
But having favorable conditions you can record even 8 knots in this boat. I did in mine.

I am sure they know it isn't an easily driven light air boat.. but in that climate, and in the conditions that one can face on the Great Lakes, its a fine boat to have.

Nothing wrong here... The brickboat is in reverse gear and that it's why it is so slow.

Keep in mind, there's not even a breeze. Look at the Canada flag.
