hurdy gurdy by Chris Eaton, composed and recorded by Nigel Eaton Hurdy-Gurdy, Accordion, hammered dulcimer and guitar arrangements by me too pls see bandcamp for downloads
I was watching Loreena's Mummers 1997 video and had to find where the lovely man, who's really digging and rocking the hurdy gurdy, is today. Google searches brought me here after reading about all you have done over the years. Very grateful to you for sharing your beautiful talent with us all. I'm so glad you still play and I'm enjoying working my way through your channel.
What a beautiful song and as always, what a great sound you get from your green-topped hurdy-gurdy (made by your father if I'm not mistaken) I have to say my favorite of your hurdy-gurdies... thank you for these gifts...
A short but heartfelt tribute Nigel "You are a master of your art sir. A unique voice as a composer, and a virtuoso of an instrument which, in your hands, talks to its awed listeners" Long may you continue.
Agreed hahahhh yes the tunes are coming to me quite easily at the moment . Others are the virtuosos tho , i just try to keep a steady beat for dancers but thanks for all that , great to know , cheers
Hey where can I get that particular hurdy gurdy? Or gurdys like it I’ve always wanted to try this instrument but never know where I could buy one other than that fantastic video!
Thanks . The best place to start is maybe the nerdy gurdy kit or a robert mandel symphonie or a Catnip B . If you're serious and can afford it then get a Marco gamarra or a kerboeuf . Prices range from free for the kit (nearly) to several thousand and then on up

Magisch!
I have heard some hurdy-gurdy music in the past including recordings. You have the nicest timbre I've ever heard from this instrument.

Beautiful. I wish I had several albums of songs from you and this beautiful instrument
Nigel's albums are worth tracking down.
Also check out my bandcamp and Spotify , cheers
This is excellent news! I didn’t know you had material on those platforms! I’m listening now on Spotify!
It's beautiful. My little choir sing the Halsway Carol at Christmas, a favourite. Any plans to make a vocal version of this?
Ooh that's a thought . I'll ask Iain (he wrote the halsway lyrics) will get back to you
I love this so much! It feels so warm and gentle. One of my favorite tunes. 🥹 thank you for this
Your music makes me wanna create a bard character in a DnD campaign, and then break out your songs to highlight moments.
Do it!!!!
Its beautiful x
This is so cool. Thank you for this! 🙏🏻
Very nice. Moody, haunting. Is this an original tune?
I sure hope so hahahhaha
