Every fandom I was once part of (fanfiction writing circles within them mostly) was supportive and amazing until around GG time. They morphed into monstrous, drama-filled gaslighting hubs and people don't tag their characters right. Nobody can take constructive criticism or have in-depth conversations. It's super depressing to have lost that creative outlet. I think it has affected my desire for writing overall ever since 2015 or so. It has killed my enjoyment of reading and offering editing/proofreading, as well. I used to love watching writers grow with just a little nudge and still do love going back to all my reviews to see the joy I brought people. It's kind of a wound that hasn't healed yet. I don't really even identify myself as a writer, anymore. I'm hoping maybe someday I'll find a group that doesn't devolve into cannibalization, but I'm not going to hold my breath. In other words, I feel your pain.

In some cases games don't have diversity they are just trash. In Suicide Squad one guy who really no one is a big fan of was changed. However, all the familiar characters were just worse versions of themselves or disrespected. They hide behind the diversity statement, but the only thing most of the games they work on have in common is they suck, are boring, and have been hit with the ugly bat.

Every fandom I was once part of (fanfiction writing circles within them mostly) was supportive and amazing until around GG time. They morphed into monstrous, drama-filled gaslighting hubs and people don't tag their characters right. Nobody can take constructive criticism or have in-depth conversations. It's super depressing to have lost that creative outlet. I think it has affected my desire for writing overall ever since 2015 or so. It has killed my enjoyment of reading and offering editing/proofreading, as well. I used to love watching writers grow with just a little nudge and still do love going back to all my reviews to see the joy I brought people. It's kind of a wound that hasn't healed yet. I don't really even identify myself as a writer, anymore. I'm hoping maybe someday I'll find a group that doesn't devolve into cannibalization, but I'm not going to hold my breath. In other words, I feel your pain.

In some cases games don't have diversity they are just trash. In Suicide Squad one guy who really no one is a big fan of was changed. However, all the familiar characters were just worse versions of themselves or disrespected. They hide behind the diversity statement, but the only thing most of the games they work on have in common is they suck, are boring, and have been hit with the ugly bat.
