God i wish we could have had Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib.
Khabib was a master of the ground game with solid stamina and defence, but not the best striker by far. Conner was an absolute top tier striker but had no stamina and no grapple defence.
Ferguson on the other hand had fantastic striking, unreal stamina and an iron jaw, great grappling, and above average defence.
Ferguson would've had much more of a chance than conner to keep the fight upright, and much more of a chance than conner to stay in it even if it did go to the ground. would've probably been by split decision or submission.
its a shame it never happened.

But that's based on a technicality, a niche skill that's meant to give a specific outcome. You don't do a choke with the ends of wearing someone out so you can punch them later on. A knockout is more chaotic, sheer strength overpowering someone to the point where they have no say if they participate or not is a lot more meaningful to me, in my opinion.

Tapping out to someone is the most embarrassing thing that can happen in a fight.
KO is just fine. You can say that it hit somewhere which causes unconsciousness but when you are forced to be in a submission position and someone is about to take your breath or break your arm, shoulders or legs and you have to tap out and give up to save yourself.....
That's something that nobody wanna do and that's the most dominant way to win a fight. When you win by a Submission that means literally you have forced your opponent to give up and accept the defeat......!

The selfish part of me wish Khabib stayed in a little longer. I would have loved to see him fight. When the Connor vs Khabib stuff was happening I did lean towards Connor but it didn’t take long before that respect was thrown out the window. Khabib is definitely a better fighter and a better man. But when he does, you never forget a word of it.
Winning the UFC and it didn't go to his Head.
Winning and making all that money and it still didn't change him.
Even Connor McGregor couldn't get in his Head.
Even when he was smoking and smashing Connor in the ring ( lets talk now, BAM, lets talk now BLAM).
He took him in to the deep water and connor discovered who he was. He changed his face and his life.
