That guy and me were about the same age in 2001, mid 20s young guys. There's no way I could have had that kind of courage back then or even today. If I managed to get out of something like that, I don't think I could find it in me to go back and keep helping others. What an incredible human being Wells was.

Wells Crowther had such a kind, sweet face. He could've thought only of himself, but he helped others. When I saw his photo yrs ago, it brought tears to my eyes. He looks just like his mother, she will always see him when she looks in the mirror, and his father will see his son, when he looks at his wife. I know they wish he were still here, I would if he were my son. Rest in peace young man. You are the type of person I would be proud to have as a friend. A rare jewel.

Thank you Wells from a fellow worker in 2 WTC. I was outside the building when I saw the early plane fly into 1 WTC. My legs stopped moving. I heard how you helped so many injured and struggling to find a Stairwell out. You are forever my hero. I wish I would have met you. They were led by such a loving, caring young man to safety. Those of us that worked in that building will forever remember your name and all your efforts when panic, fear and pain set in. Rest in peace and love of all who worked there, tens of thousands of us. (2 WTC, 74th Fl. MS)

Welles was the definition of hero and selfless. Saving so many that day. My brother and him were the same age, though my brother turned 25 that day. Was anticipating the brith of his daughter, who came 18 days later. I know some one whose daughter was on flight 93 and we were 10 days apart in age. Some stilly connections to 2 of the countless heroes from 9/11.

Unbelievable the courage Crowther showed on that day, and at only 24 years young. He gave direct meaning to the last 4 words of our national anthem.

Removing all the bad feelings you have is also known as forgiving. You forgive not because the oppressors deserve it but because you deserve happiness and peace.

No i couldnt ever blame the parents for not wanting to forgive the terrorists nor anyone connected with that plan as for me i forgive people whether or not they deserve it as a way of letting go of the pain they caused and let go of any anger i have as well and lastly my God asks us to forgive our enemies and i understand why, when you choose to forgive and move on theres a chance and a very tiny one at that. that will cause them to reflect on their actions and to change their ways but i know obviously not in this case cuz they ya know offed themselves but yeah theres that and also not allowing that monster the chance to enjoy the pain they inflicted by giving them a reaction they dont expect either and it messes with their heads

The courage and love he displayed in those final moments prove that hero’s don’t need capes and superpowers. They need love, and compassion. May his soul rest in eternal euphoria. Because of him, other families don’t have to experience the hurt that his own does. There is nothing more heroic than that.

He lead people down the stairwell to floor 40 where they got in the only working elevator to the ground.
He didn't join them in the elevator, he went back up the stairs to find more people to help.

Let's also remember Keith Roma. He has yet to be officially recognized as a firefighter who died in the line of duty on 9/11. There were not 343 but 344 firefighters and I read somewhere that there was one more that was also forgotten but I can't remember his name.
