    For Nevada antelope/mule deer hunts I car camp out of my MAZDA CX-5 in a backpacking tent. RIFLE-> 6.5 PRC Browning X-Bolt Pro W/Bushnell Elite 4.5 - 18 x 44 illuminated scope. MY MOST IMPORTANT GEAR (after the rifle) an E-CELLS Sure Monarch Crown e-mountain bike, 2 wheel drive, 2 batteries, dual suspension, 400 pound load limit, so yeah, a cargo e-mtb. BLUETTI power center charged by a 220 watt Off Grid TREK "solar blanket". Runs my cooler all day too.

    What you actually need for a antelope hunt. Rifle, bullets, binos, backpack, gps, required orange, knife, game bags, water. Antelope hunts are as hard as you make them. If you have the gear above, a vehicle and any foot where besides sandals you can kill a goat. Heck you could probably even do it in sandals!

    Suspect with Brady's height, that most of the time he has to sleep diagonally or other rise he would hang off the edges. Or maybe he leaves the bedding untucked at the bottom. He sure can reach the top shelf. Was Brady one of the first persons to be called on in forming grade school sports while the short people wait for the captain to call their name. 😀 Sure do enjoy his content. 😷

    Are you sponsored by sitka or do you invest $1000 + into there amazing stuff

    • @GOHUNT
      @GOHUNT  4 года назад

      Hey Colt. I'm not sponsored by Sitka directly. But I definitely save up everything and spend that money in hunting gear or ways to further benefit my hunts. I don't have any other hobbies, I stopped fishing, sold my boat, I don't go to restaurants to eat, and really focus all my efforts on hunting. I have bought and used other brands of hunting clothing, and I just really like Sitka as a company and their clothing and that is why I use their gear. It might be a little more expensive, but it will last you a long time.

    So what your saying is all we need is about $20k worth of gear and we'll ready to hunt some speed goats?

    • @GOHUNT
      @GOHUNT  4 года назад

      Not at all. He mentioned the great thing about antelope hunts is any gear will work. Brady has refined his gear and saved up for quality glass over many, many years. The great thing about hunting, any gear will work and over time you will see what type of gear you want to spend a little more money on.

    Is Brady able to tell use which new Mystery Ranch Pack he used yet? I'm curious about what size pack he used. Going on my first western hunt and it's for antelope.

    • @GOHUNT

    Is 300 win Mag too much fun for an antelope? Looking to get into mule deer and antelope hunting and not really sure what caliber would be good

    • @GOHUNT
      @GOHUNT  4 года назад +2

      Hey James. Almost everyone would say that a 300 win mag is too much for antelope. But me, I just own one caliber as I'm not one that likes to have multiple guns for different hunts or animals. That just is more expensive to set up two guns. Then also expensive to have multiple reloading dies, powder, brass, etc. So currently, I'd rather have one gun and I practice with it all the time so I'm very confident in what it will do under any hunting condition.
      For mule deer and antelope, a lot of people love 7mm mag, 28 Nosler, 6.5 Creedmoor even. The beauty is there are a ton of options these days and I feel like it all comes down to what you are comfortable shooting and the animals you will mainly go after.

    Should I buy some dry ice and put it in the cooler before I go out?

    • @GOHUNT
      @GOHUNT  4 года назад

      Honestly, that is a great trick we have done in the past. The only reason Brady didn't do that on this hunt is he somehow couldn't find it at his local grocery store because they were sold out. But on an antelope hunt, that is a phenomenal option. Then just keep the dry ice in the cooler and do not open that cooler on your hunt until you tag out.

    • @nmelkhunter1
      @nmelkhunter1 4 года назад

      Here’s my list just for the field portion of the hunt:
      1. 280 Remington, Leupold Var-X II
      2. Two Boxes 140 Accubonds
      3.Daypack with two knifes, rain gear, spotting scope, extra clothes, survival gear. About 25 pounds in total.
      4. Boots
      5. Binos
      6. Tripod for spotting scope and shooting.
      Ok, let’s go hunt.

    Why do the "kids" overthink this ?
    Choose your favorite round -- when I started, it was the 257 Roberts; today, it is the 243 Win...both with the best scope you can afford.
    Clothing is whatever you are comfy in, considering the weather.
    There are ONLY two specialized items you will need......THICK velcro-strapped knee pads of the kind the flooring carpenters use and HEAVY leather gloves. You WILL be sneaking, hands and knees, through cactus, rocks, and sharp this and that. Just do it.
    I also skied in Levi's well into my 70's. You don't have to have pretentious crap to enjoy any sport.

    Brady, love the rifle. What size bipod do you prefer?

    • @GOHUNT
      @GOHUNT  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you! I’ll admit, I love her too. She shoots so well. I prefer a 7-10" bipod. Sure there are some situations when you might want something taller, but for the majority of my mountain type hunts, this bipod height works very well! Most of my shots are when I’m situated on a ridge overlooking a buck as then I don’t need anything taller since the curve of the ridge helps me keep my gun very low to the ground. If I do run into a situation where I need something taller, I’ll shoot off my backpack which I do practice on very often.
