Ordered the conversion box....using your link...🤔😀🇬🇧👍
brilliant thank you, let me know how you get on. I found the conversion pretty straight forward. 👍
@@grim-upnorth I think I'm going to get the internal 4 in 1 module after all. It means I can use it for indoor flying. The CRSF module will be on my FPV planes and quads. Backpack quad flying more compact. My TX16S is great but it's bulky and heavy...🤔😀
I'm moving my freestyle quads to ELRS and keeping the Crossfire for my long range stuff. Will be interesting to see how you get on with it.
That's a sensible idea. For me however, I only fly 1 quad... and it's an iNav cinematic style flyer, so I pretty much fly it as I would a plane lol
I also don't have that many aircraft (4 including the iNav quad right now) and they all already have crossfire in, plus I already have some spare crossfire rxs for any future plans... so I'm still leaning towards the crossfire for both radios route.
Will be interesting to see how YOU get on with ELRS. I'm already subbed so I'll see if you make any vids 👍
@@grim-upnorth Well, just 5 minutes ago I connect wifi to a Happymodel EP1 RX receiver... you can update firmware this way. My BetaFPV LiteRadio 2 SE transmitter should arrive tomorrow, wanted a really small and basic transmitter for easy travels. So far, I'm impressed. This RX is blooming tiny, makes the Crossfire Nano look chunky! LOL
Pleased I watched your video, Im hesitant about ELRS on 2.4g. Its no good alongside 1.2g long range video for a start. Im pretty sure 2.4g ELRS will take over the 2.4g band in the near future though. Once they bring out 8 channel RXs with servo pinouts for the Fixed Wing brigade their sales should increase significantly.
Im waiting for the price of 868mhz CRSF Nanos to come down now...lol..
Most quad pilots simply dont need the power or range of CRSF.
"the internals are identical" - except for the differences :D
Haha yeah, well I didn't find the differences till I opened it lol
What version of iNAV are you currently running on your GPS quads?..I'm very reluctant to go to even 4.0 but they've removed the older firmwares below 3.0...I tried 4.0 and it tried to cook my motors, a problem I've had before with iNAV and it's PID tune. It's also noted they've lumped all quads into ONE preset PIDs...🤔😳😳😳😳
I only have one quad now, it's running INAV 4.0 and seems fine but I have only test hovered it and not given it a full flight yet, so I can't comment on whether it's causing any issues yet.
@@grim-upnorth Be interested to hear about any motor overheating. Mine were getting stupid hot in a very short time ..😳😳
Why are you reluctant to use the older CCL Module..?..(I'm guessing the firmwares won't mix with newer firmware Nano RXs)....🤔🤔😳
The CCL module is only 250mw, that's the only reason.
@@grim-upnorth Been flying my Zorro, quads and Nano converted CRSF TX Module...it's working fine..😀..Such a nice compact Transmitter and the sticks feel real nice. I did have to alter my rates a bit to compensate for the shorter sticks...🤔😳😀
Copper Clad Laminate?....
I'm finding ELRS 2.4ghz pretty decent so far.
haha, nope.
If I ever go down the ELRS route, it will definitely be the 2.4GHz version 👍
