    Artemis played at a biker bar that I used to work at years ago. Drove himself to the show. I saw his USMC EGA on his truck and since I'm a Army veteran myself I asked him about his service instead of Skynrd. I didn't even know he served. Guys from that era, including my dad didn't talk about it. We hit it off right away. We traded war stories and took pics. Buddy Black opened for him. Cool guys. Good show and a fun night. As a Gen Xer from Michigan raised on classic rock who now lives in the South, it was like meeting Southern royalty. I got to have a beer with the guy whose music I drank many beers too. That's pretty cool.

      Artimus Pyle was a member of a Top Group in 1977, he survived a horrendous plane crash, climbing out of wreckage to walk in hopes of finding assistance. He came upon a farm, with farmer outside. He called for help, as he was in bad shape and looking bloodied, with long hair, farmer ending up shooting Artimus, in fear Artimus was a bad person. He and other members of original band all seemed to have unharmed lives ending up in their deaths. So sad. (If) he was/was not involved in an impropriety he paid his dues to society. Thank-you Artimus, and original Lynyrd Skynyrd Band mates your music was special in my life.

      @peterbilt-bo1vy 7 месяцев назад

      @@mikesundquist2960 Artimus was never shot. The farmer said he fired a warning shot up in the air. There is no medical record of him sustaining any gunshot wound.

    What I loved about Artemus's drumming is the physicality of it. Everything was strong every hit was dynamic and not trashy just great really fast hard strokes in perfect time. As a drummer I really liked that. Right on the money. Extremely dynamic drummer just what the band needed at the time and it basically launched them. They were a different band after he came on board glad to see he's till rocking strong and good to see Scott Raines up there to he is a fantastic player I love his channel.

    Absolutely great job on the guitars, just as solid as the originals. The whole band did as excellent as could be, but as Artemis said it best, there will never be another Ronnie Van Zant. That is a fact, and no matter how good the musicians or the singer is, Ronnie simply cannot be replaced. RIP Ronnie, we love you forever. And thanks to you Artemis, Ronnie's most courageous man; you took care of Ronnie, and you saved their lives by your own will to survive and your perseverance to get help in spite of being shot during your effort. You saved their hides, and in return was disrespected. We know who was truthful and who was phony. Ronnie would have been proud of you man. Good work, Artemis! 🎉❤

    Also if ya dig and enjoyed this video and love many Lynard Skynard songs😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on RUclips. 😀

    Being a drummer i always Loved Artimus. Learned alot of my stuff from him, and Ronnie Van Zant and Lynyrd Skynyrd will always be that band. The one better than the rest
    Doesnt negate the fact that Artimus is a convicted sex offender who go a slap on the wrist for sexually assaulting 2 sisters ages 4 and 8. He also got arrested again in mis 2000s for not registering as a sex offender in North Carolina. While i appreciate what he did for Skynyrds sound, im also appalled and sickened by his actions, and could never support him or his band.
    Its a shame too.
