- Hi y'all & Happy October!! We are off to the happiest start together this year and I'm so jazzed to share it all with you guys. Reading centers and a math workshop model have helped us get in our groove with that looong afternoon in first grade. More weeks in my life to come. Love y'all, mean it!

I’ve been teaching for 24 years, I’ve always used my curriculum as my main resource, I then supplement where needed.
I love your realistic talk about using research based curriculum and supplementing with TpT when you feel necessary!! Thanks for keeping this channel real. 💓
Your anchor chart is goals! Beautiful, just beautiful! 🥰
I was so excited to see a video of yours!! I love the new room arrangement!!!
Thank you!! It’s also working well because there is some flexibility in the number of students each child sits with - best for everyone!
Thank you so much for doing these videos! I don’t know how you do it all😃
I'm doing the same thing as you regarding my new curriculum. I want to see what it's all about and will improve later for next year. I'm also always behind on grading. Love your content!
I really don't understand the whole jeans thing. I'm a Portuguese teacher and it is unimaginable for us to have such a rule. Of course we do not wear weird clothes to go to school, but it is all left to our common sense. But, more importantly, loved your ideas.
So glad to see your vlogs again. We also have two late days in our contract per week.
2nd!!!! Haha happy to catch another wonderful cheerful teacher video!!!
Great Math idea!!!!
I love your videos. FYI, my custodians are used to seeing me after school. I have absolutely no problem printing. I like to prepare ahead. It makes my week way less stressful than my colleagues.😊🥰
I’m going to go for it this week!! 😊
It's my first time watching and I'm already liking this a lot
Glad you’re here. 😊
I don’t know if your school does breakfast in the classroom, but I would grade all the work from the previous day while my kids ate breakfast. Then on the Sunday I would input it all into my grade book. Just a thought! Or if you’re not actively engaged with them while they’re doing that iPad time you mentioned, you could knock out the previous days grading then!
First love u so much and im so excited to watch
Omg you’re fast!! Thanks for the love 💖💖
We use Imagine Language and Literacy and my kids love it! I know there's an Imagine Reading as well, but K-2 in my district don't use it. I also appreciated you mentioning how you're using your own district's curricular resources for your activities. In my district we are not allowed to supplement things unless we discuss it with our admin/Instructional Coach, and I'm betting we're not alone in this. I think too many new teachers see all this "fun" stuff that others are doing and gravitate towards that and it can get them in trouble if they're not using what their district wants them to use!
My class has loved Imagine Learning so much already! I’m so excited for them to have that access - I hope we’ll have classroom licenses next year as well. Kudos to teachers who are able & allowed to create such awesome supplemental resources, but we’re in this curriculum grind together! 💖
It’s so funny you said you don’t like to make copies after school! I am the opposite. I wait until I KNOW no one will be there 😂 I usually make copies for a whole unit at once though so I’m in their commandeering the machine for a long time and don’t like thinking that someone might come in wanting to use the copier
Im Actually Thinking Of Becoming a First Grade Teacher In Real Life, So, This Video Helped Alot!!
I LOVE Imagine Learning! It is amazing and it will also allow them to earn prizes, like pizza parties!
We ended up trying it for the first time in whole group so that they could all do the placement test together (except my ELLs) and let me tell you I could NOT get them off. They loved it!!!
👍
Love that grey jacket! What brand / where did you get it???
Mine is from North Face and I can’t find the same one anymore, but Patagonia’s “Better Sweater” is super similar: www.patagonia.com/product/womens-better-sweater-fleece-jacket/25543.html
I wonder if your math centers routine would work with my highschool English ESL students.
Oh probably even better since they are likely more independent!
That jean thing is such a bs power move, in my opinion. 🙄
We can wear jeans anytime we want.
I think the whole jeans thing is a way for administration to “treat” or “reward” us in expensively.
Just curious, are your “approaching” group and “at or above” group about evenly divided? (Roughly 8 students in each?) 😀
It’s a little lopsided - some groups of 3 some of 5. Still works (for now)!
Hi
Who monitors that people actual pay for jeans day?
What color are your nails 💅🏼 such a cute pink
I’m not sure! I get dip powder and the salon I go to just has them all numbered 😊
@@puttingthemfirst ohh ok I get you. Well
Very pretty😊
Wondering on the groups what are some skills they work on when they are hands on and at your seat ….are they game like or worksheets
Can there be a video where you discuss/show the process (of course without showing the kiddos) but to get an idea of how you operate them…
16 students?? 25 students here
What terrible product sells by the millions?
